@@mitsurukurosawa4240 I would agree, but no offense the skates look very stiff and you'll need somewhere icy for it, but ballet is able to be done anywhere. In fact, you can do it right now, but I still agree with your choice.
@@Norr992 You should practice doing pirouettes at retiré unless you have it set in choreography, as practising only at coupé is not preparing your for pirouettes en pointe. : )
Comments to a gymnast not an artist.. She is not artistic... At all.. No lightness in moves and a very stiff neck. Again nothing personal.. Watch Maya Plisetskaya.. That's real ballet
@@elenatsatsura1650 That's a very stupid and jealous comment. This young dancer is 17 years old, she will develop her personality more and more. And by the way, but Maya Plissetskaya was a famous dancer in her time. Today she looks just old fashioned and boring. The technique at her time wasn't even near to the technique, the young dancers need today.

Classic in every way... down to her beautiful composure of expression. Congratulations on your win and best wishes for a long and happy dancing career.
Sylvie had more of an unrestrained control. I know that's an oxymoron. Hyper extended legs, feet, shoulders moved without a abandon yet she performed the choreography with control. She took everything to the edge of certain disaster seldom faltering.
@@lila2986 Apparently the judges disagree with you, as do I. Ms. Vishneva is almost painful to watch in her 2012 competition at the PDL. She developed into a beautiful dancer, as will Ms. Galvao.
@@lydsgrace5089 definitely not! Ballerinas, especially those at this top level, have way more class than to dislike the video of their competition! Probably some other jealous soul lurking around youtube
My favorite grand pas classique performance. I love her proud expression and strong physique. She is so controlled, especially on the relevés! I hope big things for this dancer❤️
Not only does she have good technique, she is a DANCER. she has that spirit in her. Some dancers have great technique but they dance like robots. She is so fluid. Lively is the word. She deserves the title !!
Her musicality !!! She is so on the music it’s chilling, it almost feels like she is playing the music herself with her moves. Absolutely deserved ! Well done !
I used to be a dancer and the most painful thing was ballet. It was the hardest thing to do out of everything yet it was still my favorite thing to do. Watching this makes me miss dancing
Everything about this variation was so beautiful. Her outfit, her pointe shoes, her balance, her transitions, her arm movement was so smooth, this is my favorite.
I’m definitely not an expert and somehow I managed to watch 1 video like this and that’s all that’s been in my feed. Now that I’ve been watching these damn videos for like 3 weeks straight, and I’m an expert now (sarcasm) and every dancer seems to pick (do they pick?) this same damn piece, this chick did it the best. Hands down. The chicks that danced this piece after her, in more recent years, were great…but this one had the most precise timing, on top of being beautiful to watch!
My god, one of the best performances of this variation! I love how she emphasizes finishing each movement cleanly, and her phrasing is phenomenal. Well done, well deserved!!
This was amazing. The part on one leg, I could NEVER IMAGINE being able to do that. I have danced en pointe for over a year, and I cannot even begin to express how difficult that must be
I wont ever stop saying it: Ballerinas are the strongest and most beautiful athletes.
Yeah next in line would probably be the figure skaters.
meaturama weightlifters are beautiful and graceful?

I can only do piroetes in coupe

Honestly
My toes hurt 😰
I know nothing about ballet, I don't know why this was recomendation for me from youtube but i don't regret watching this. So beautiful!
I so agree! 😊
Yeah it was randomly recommended to me as well lol I liked it tho~!
You must watch dance moms.
Sometimes, TH-cam gets it sooo right!

Outstanding control, perfectly in time with the music, exceptional balance. A joy to watch!

malena T ballerinas need to have straight posture and a open, long neck unlike a gymnast sticking out their backs.
malena T those were some of the hardest ballet moves ever and you just hate on her she did her best and a least she put on a smile
@1:15... Pardon me while I pick my jaw up off the floor...
Maureen Seel
That’s what I was thinking!! Her leg didn’t touch the floor once!!
her calvesss
Loved this comment🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol same i dont think people realize how hard that is to do
i dont know much about ballet at all, could you explain the move? thank you :)

First reply yeet
17? Jesus Christ... I can only imagine how many years she trained to get this good. holy cow, respect.
About 4/5 years (at least here in Brazil that's it)
This variation is practically impossible! It hurts like hell, she sure is amazing
I just gotta say everyone is talking about her amazin performance, wich it was, and very techniqual. But nobody talks about her beautiful tutu
zsofi nemeth it was the cherry on top Bc it wasn’t a basic pink so she stood out, in a good way :)
Everybody is speechless in the comments because of her amazing performance.

YO IF YOU DONT WANT EM I NEED A NEW PAIR
like everyone in this comment thread, i’m not en pointe, started ballet this year, but i almost know i’ll be en pointe if i continue with ballet
My ankle broke watching this.
Me too😂
In case no one here has mentioned it, Carolyne is a member of the English National Ballet, which she joined in 2018.
Well deserved first place winner. Every time I see this variation performed, I think of Sylvie Guillame. No could ever match her. Still.
Agree, btw you might also like her fellow French ballet dancer Elisabeth Platel's take on Grand Pas Classique.

Glad to see someone who doesn’t have the typical, Russian “ballet body” win a prestigious competition!
