I’m sure it’s as bad, or worse, in the U.K. as it is in the U.S. today. We’ve had at least 50 years of male effeminization via social and media conduits. Western governments have spent at least as much time working to show their disdain and contempt for males of European descent.
Yes, you can change laws and develop terribly punitive consequences for those who will not fight for you. Maybe you get your armies. But what will those armies function like? The Rus’ and their meat waves?
All I’m saying is the west is in a major pickle right now. Just look at the recruitment stats for the U.S. military over the last decade. The pop is spent after a 20+ year loss on a foreign war that was really just trying to give them woman and gender rights. The pop has no cohesiveness like we had 1940. We now have the proverbial Tower of Babel.

Back in the day, I as a soldier in the Parachute regiment, attached to a unit with a specific job to do in the event the Soviets invaded West Germany, was told in such an event we would have at max a ten day life expectancy.
We were also told to make sure that we didn't fall into Soviet hands under any circumstances.
The war in Ukraine has bought this last advice into very sharp focus. :(
As for the army now, it simply does not have enough mass or heavy equipment to fight a Russian army fighting in the way they are fighting in Ukraine. We don't have anywhere near enough air defence, artillery (tube and rocket), I could go on.
This is why it is in the UK's interest to stop Russia in Ukraine by helping the Ukranians with equipment, ammunition etc.

Those troops would need to be rotated as well. It takes time to train decent combat troops. We don't want to end up like Russia with all our elite / veteran troops dead or injured and just throwing green recruits into battle.

The UK would act as part of NATO. Within the 6 months to 1 year we would have trained a substantial number of recruits to phase 1 infantry standard, churning out combat ready soldiers every 14 weeks. The 20000 that have left in the last 5 years would be recalled and retrained within 2 months.
The volunteer reserve forces of 30000 would be deployed, and those veterans with a reserve commitment would be rejoining and receiving training to bolster losses.
In total we're talking of a British Army trained to a far superior standard and lead by far better NCOs and commanders than the Russian army numbering some 170k to 200k.
The RAF and RN would also be growing along with the forces of other NATO countries to number millions.

There is a 8:1 russian:Ukrainian KIA rate. Any western force would have far fewer casualties, especially deaths, than a russia who do not care at all. Same with China, the acceptance of soldier deaths is on a different level than in the west.
