Six months! Get over yourselves lefties: ammo for two days (max), fuel for four days of modern kinetic warfare (max). Six weeks and the regulars are gone. In that time the Navy would maybe have avoided charted rocks off Australia, charted islands off Samoa, and found their way down The Solent. Air Force? What, a handful of planes (working) and a few pilots (those DIE-ticks will be so good, arf arf). Then: RARO and TA Saturdays and Sundays - two weeks tops. Then: conscription! Good luck trying that little two-tier!
Also the NHS wouldn't be able to cope with the huge casualties, plus whose going to go & fight for a country where them at the very top don't care for the peasants?!?!?!?
Apparently when the Suez canal crisis was at it's height, the estimated time of UK forces to keep fighting against a Russian invasion force would be somewhere between 3 days and 3 weeks...and this was 1956. This was eleven years after WW2, when I am pretty sure we had more men (and women) in uniform then.
Ex Gunner - And this is a surprise to no one. We bought 14 of the Archers system to fill a gap in the Army's 155mm Close Support capability after the UK sent 32 AS90 self-propelled guns to Ukraine.
Prior to 2000 the Royal Navy had over 60 combat surface vessels, today we have what 12? Two of thise are Aircraft carriers with zero support combat vessels. The Government is guilty of hubris and living on the reputation of the past. Six months is a massive over estimate for our armies survival rate, we have cut corners in all areas the same as with the NHS and all of our utility services - apply the state of the NHS to the armed forces and you will get some idea of how badly prepared we are today.
So if Russia is losing 1500 a day, imagine Ukraine losses as Russia has 10-14 times more artillery, missiles and 1500 glide bombs a month dropping on them.
That's 6 months as part of a wider NATO force, more like 6 weeks on their own! And as for muppets saying we shouldnt be letting Russia know this, trust me they already fully know our capabilities, or lack thereof, probably better than we do!
Sooner, the British Army of August 1914 suffered 100% casualties by December. They were recalling former servicemen who hadn't worn a uniform in years and sending them to the front with no training.
Six months is extremely optimistic in the event of a war say over Ukraine. We would lose an infantry battalion a week at the very least. A reservist that’s been out ten years will be in no condition to fight for at least 6 months if at all. Our military is a quarter the size it needs to be to actually fight a peer enemy. Also our logistics and equipment cannot sustain our land forces in an Eastern Europe winter.

News flash (not really but come on): The 2% GDP spending is a suggestion, not a mandatory requirement. And currently only countries spending less than 2 % is Croatia, Spain, Portugal. Italy, Luxenburg, Belgium, Slovenia and Canada.
How to say I don’t know what the EU is without saying so. NATO membership and EU membership are completely separate thing and the EU is not in NATO. There are European countries that are in in NATO but not in the EU, ie the UK, Turkey, Norway and there are EU Members that are not in NATO, ie Austria and until Putin started acting up in Ukraine, Finland and Sweden were in EU but not NATO.
Shut up you Trump melt! 😂You’ve no idea
Someone should tell France and Germany that it's not 0.3%, but 3%. Why should Brits die so they can get their country back after being invaded. Lazy blighters!
Don't expect the yanks to help you this time you've been too rude about them over the years
No way would they last 6 months.
Plus...how many politicians have even STEPPED on a parade square...let alone SERVED "their" country....??
Well 120 operational tanks, 24 attack helicopters...and plenty fish and chips 😂
As an American I must say… I wish the UK luck on their future defense policies. The US might enter into a more isolationist stance. I encourage you to call on your commonwealth nations to aid in the potential conflict.
He is so generous. Depends on war with whom?
If war with some real power i doubt British army can survive for 6 days . I mean war with country like Russia.
The UK can still whip Russia easily.
uk died 20 years ago ! we serve israel! so we need to fight for our own land before claiming to be uk
@@DomLab-g2nLol, with what? Hope that's a joke because it takes great deal of delusion to believe that
Don't worry Hamsa, you won't be required to join.
@@OnyedikaGabriel-un3gm Russia can't handle Ukraine.
That long?? Are you kidding??! 2 weeks at most, Russia is not our enemy, wake up people nato are trying to start ww3
traitor, you and rest need to leave
Ivan your posts are all over TH-cam 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡
You don’t agree NATO AUKUS attempting to start hostilities ?? Stop supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine Now and what will happen tomorrow ??? Peace ☮️ Yeah . Andrej Kondisenko Cairns Australia 🇦🇺
life in the UK is a massive grind, everything is expensive, we struggle all year to (if we are lucky) buy 10 days in the sun. what would we be defending?
ordinary people across the world want to live in peace
Don't forget not all Army personnel are infantry soldiers. Increasing the full time by 20.000 and reserves by 50.000.
British army is severely deteoriated, UK just doesn't know it. Ships, arms, aircraft, personnel is short supply.
But the other day an army representative said they would be ready to fight tomorrow...whats the point if you cant fill a premium league football stadium
Basically, the Russians weren't the pushover you thought they were.
Treason! We have been betrayed!!
The British army was pretty much done post the first battle of the Marne. By mid 1915 about 80% of The BEF were either wounded or dead.
Devastating.
We don't produce anything any more so that's the way the army is going down, down, we could loose everthing.😢😢😢😢
Also the NHS wouldn't be able to cope with the huge casualties, plus whose going to go & fight for a country where them at the very top don't care for the peasants?!?!?!?
We Argentines are taking note from the corner😂🇦🇷🇫🇰
Don't worry - we still have Girl Guides to send
We have never in our history had a large Army ! Navy and Air Forces are the most important for an island nation !
Russia saved GB from Napoleon and Adolf 😅😅😅
Well I’m sure some are in prison following so called riots
Good luck recalling regular reservists. Most of them will refuse to die for Starmer and Co.
The rainbow 🌈 army wouldn't last a month if they cant stop boats entering england
So if Russia is losing 1500 a day, imagine Ukraine losses as Russia has 10-14 times more artillery, missiles and 1500 glide bombs a month dropping on them.
Ukraine are losing atleast 10 times less. They are a professional army after all.
😂😂😂 @@jungle486
No Ivan Ukraine is defending, anyone with a brain knows that attackers lose more men against dug in defensive positions.
@thegoat11111 Ukraine is running away in most cases they've captured no territory in the Donbass all year.
@ailinofaolin8897 They're inside russia now. 🔥
Scary…
What are the politicians doing about this!
Uk better not try to provoke Russia.
That's 6 months as part of a wider NATO force, more like 6 weeks on their own!
And as for muppets saying we shouldnt be letting Russia know this, trust me they already fully know our capabilities, or lack thereof, probably better than we do!
Meanwhile Russia increases its Military to 1.5 million 😂. Who do you think you are kidding Mr Starmer 😂
They cant win in Ukraine, they dont have the resources, the GDP to go through Europe to get to the UK
6 minutes more like.most of the air bases have been closed for a start...
6 minutes? Don't stand near me then when it all kicks off!
Fine. Let's raise taxes to fund the army and the NHS. Let's see how well that goes down.
Don't forget Net Zero. Can't fight wars without Net Zero.
I can make £5.5 billion of savings to put into our armed forces immediately.
During the world wars, the bulk of the UK's fighting force were Indian conscripts. Why would it be any different now?
Government wanted to cut the numbers in the army, Im ex army and if I get called back I would.
2 weeks, according to NATO chief of staff
Just 2 more weeks ?
That's one of the reasons for having nuclear weapons! If Ukraine had kept its Nukes would Putin have been so eager to go across the border..
I am not British myself, but I am sure if Britain is attacked ninety nine percent (and older) of the x military personnel will come forward and sign up for active service, hack, as a Dutchman I would go and help GB, as I am from Arnhem.
Back in the 80s they used to say 11 sticks per bullet, and that was before computers
The labour government needs to pull its socks up and get us able to defend ourselves.
It's not peasants in flipflops this time.
The people of Crimea and voted in 2014 for autonomy from Ukraine
pseudo referendum. The same farce as the presidential elections in Russia or Belarus
Ive just been rejected on my medical yet I compete in the pro class for Hyrox, which is cross fitness and fitter than 90% of their soldiers. What a joke...
Not 6 months, it would be much shorter
Frightening
The British Army has always been wiped out in all the world wars, still nobody has invaded since 1066. i think your good.
The smallest British Army in history totally destroyed by government incompetence
6 months is widely optimistic I think
Unpopular opinion but the brits like Australia and NZ should make it mandatory for all fighting age migrants to serve in adjacent force much like the legionares. Made to swear allegiance to the country and king made to learn the langauge and culture and of course be sworn to be called up to fight for nation and its subjects.
It wouldn’t last six days !
Should have accepted agreement negotiated in Turkey in 2022.
6 months,6 weeks,more like 6 minutes,and it thanks to Liberal politics.
I would have saids 3 months. It’s a supporting force , designed to work inside a us operation. Only Russia China and US would survive 6 months.
Giving permission to fire are shadow missiles not looking like a good idea now it should of gone to a vote
It's easy to track down x service personal, you can find most of them in doorways and probably in hospital suffering mental issues.
I've identified the source of the confusion. What he actually said was that the British Army would be *deployed* within six months of a war with Russia - not *destroyed*. I still think that six months to deploy 20,000 frontline troops is unduly optimistic...
