VILA DE REI is a town and the seat of a municipality in the district of Castelo Branco. The municipality of Vila de Rei is limited by the municipalities of Sertã, Mação, Sardoal, Abrantes and Ferreira do Zêzere. The N2 road crosses the Municipality and the waters of the Zêzere River are present in the Castelo de Bode Albufeira. There are many places to visit and river beaches. Vila de Rei received a charter from King D. Dinis in 1285.
