I was lucky enough to watch both prelims and finals at UIL this year and this was the best band in Texas on these days. I have lost all confidence in UIL judging.
I love that Marcus still keeps their traditional uniforms alongside Hebron, high school bands getting new uniforms every year is incredibly stupid in my opinion
I think it's nice to have a major souvenir of the season at the end, but also it definitely does make the band seem like more of a legacy with consistent uniform.
@@BFlatMarching to me it’s just incredibly wasteful and it probably drives up costs to do marching band in the first place. It’s just way simpler to not do it
Effective design performed magnificently...but...I do miss the Marcus of old that played so many wonderful melodies (2007, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2020, etc.)
@@notanedgysnipermain4977 Can you help me identify what's on the rotating stage down audience right? Thank you! :) Also what is the stick and ball formation near the end?
one side of the stage has quads, the other side has 3 steps preshow/part 1 it holds some soloists, part 2 the quad feature, part 3 a brass quartet, part 4 another smaller quad feature and a small ensemble
@jesuspectre9883 One half houses the tenors for the features in parts 2 and 4, the other half has 3 levels that the quartet (part 3) and dectet (part 4) members sit on
Best high school percussion in the nation, they are on a whole new level
Sheesh that drumline is superr tight
I admire how unique these shows are!!
how this got second i will respectfully never understand
If kinetic noise was a high school show
Absolutely golden by Marcus, 10/10

In some cases it can help add the affect to the show but a lot of the time it is unnecessary
They're still the same design but they were updated this year

I agree. The uniforms that get replaced yearly look cheaply made, they’re probably made out of polyester and look like something purchased on SHEIN.
The French Horn solo 😩
Why is no one talking about how beautiful that Oboe solo is?!

That drum line omg! High school??

I was looking at because we are going up against them next week at a football game and I’m scared
The ballad 🤤
Never has a marching show made me as uncomfortable as the Marcus 2023 opener
That was the point lmao (Marcus marcher, marched tuba lol)
What is this show about?
Rising above distractions
/'noise' in your life

@arivett_ The ensemble is actually 10 people, it's just hard to hear over the rest of the band

Not deserving of 2nd.
They deserved first!
