The new prestige from Thieaudio is the next one up price wise at £1299 or so, and it has had a storming review from audio levels, so I would like to hear what you think of the prestige, especially after your praise in this review, so that I can officially decide which one I will never be able to afford.
I have these and thought they were great with stock tips but just threw on the render tips and holy shit..I didn’t know tips could make a change this vast.

I jumped off my wallet last night (Black Friday) and ordered a set of these as my early birthday/Christmas present to myself. I currently have the Xelastic and Dunu S&S tips, so it will be interesting to hear how those sound. I have concerns that the render tips would not work with my ridiculously large ear holes (I take a XL in the Dunu's), but I'll never know until I try.
@@MarshalRando I got the Monarch MKIII but then also get Prestige LTD. Monarch MKIII is an energetic, punchy, studio like sounding, but may have fitting issues that causes physical fatigue on the ears on long session (>2 hrs) as it has a bit bigger shell to accomodate 2DD. Prestige LTD is an all-round hall like, more mature, highly accurate sounding IEM, 0 fatigue and fitting issue with long sessions (one time I put it on for over 5 hours at work and kinda forgot I'm using it). But the bass is not as punchy as MKIII (single DD vs dual DD). Both sound terrific. I prefer Prestige LTD 99% of the time but switch to Monarch MKIII when I'm in the mood for energetic musics (Rock, Electronic, EDM, Hip Hop, House, Trance, etc). No right or wrong with these. I recommend if possible to audition both of them at least for 2 hours with your usual genres before purchase, with LTD first.
From this review sounds like you prefer these over the UM MEST 2 😮 But I am courious how would these compare to Prestige LTD.....or to the recently launched MEST MK III. Peace
Just bought the yin yan cannon II and was hoenstly debating mkiii, would you say there is a great difference for gaming and general music / audio? or as you get into flagship level cost youll only see small differences.
I think eartips have a lot to do with your personal ear canal shape as well. I tried the render tips with my MK3 and everything just seems a little "muted". Tried lots of different ones and the Dekoni foams are the night and day difference for my ear personally.

@@beyondtheuniverse999 Yes the render tips have an exceptional seal and fit (would use them if I was moving around a lot) but the sound was basically the same as stock silicone tips to my ears. The stock foam tips, Dunu S&S, and Moondrop Spring tips were all slight improvements. Then I put on the Dekoni Mercury foams and could instantly tell they were the match for me.
I really want to get my end game and these may be them. I've spent upwards of £70 on IEMS and own 4 pairs. I think spending upwards of 1k to get a set to last 10+ years is a good investment for the ears really
There will always be new and better. If you truly want to buy one thing and totally stop buying right then and there, you'd have to remove yourself from the audio space pretty much completely. When whatever's new and better comes around, it will eat at you to get it. The only way to stop that is if you don't know about it.
@@brandonyoungkrantz8279Eh headphones such as the HD600 has proven this kinda isn't too big a deal. IEMs are indeed new but we're already right near the peak, but not quite. I think the peak for IEMs will be say how 64audio can do tuning with just 4 drivers, but with 10+ drivers or even 16+ done by other professional audio engineers from other companies. We'll have to see since there's so much potential but we don't know what's doable at the Apex just yet.

I never tried the Monarch MkII because I didn't like the fit of the original Monarch for my ears. I really liked the sound of the OG Monarchs, but I couldn't justify getting the MkII when the comfort just wasn't there and my QDC 8sh sounded better and was also much more comfortable. These being so huge makes me worried about their fit even more, as I can't really see them as being comfortable. I can only hope they don't sound better than my 8sh since they are soooo comfortable to me. Also hoping that these don't beat the FATfreq Maestro SE since those were going to be my next big IEM purchase.

I've made this mistake before. There are a few things you need to think about and decide on. First is use case scenario, by which I mean how do you intend to listen to these? At a desk, in bed, on the go etc. Second, do you prefer headphones or iems? Is one more comfortable that the other? This question becomes more important the longer you plan on listening. There's probably a few more things to think about but I haven't finished my coffee yet lol. That should at least get you started.
Use case is THE main point you need to think about. Are you listening on the go regularly ? IEM are kings Are you listening at home/office work ? IMO Headphones are more confortable for long session (my ears start sweating in the inside after ~2-3 hours of IEM and need a break) While I didn't ear the Mk III yet I doubt there's a wrong choice between the two. They are great options.

Tbh if you'll be primarily working while listening to music and not critically listening, in this price range you're probably paying for small gains in performance that likely you won't even notice because your brain is preoccupied with other tasks. If I were to do it over again, I'd buy a few "mid tier" iems so I could have some variety.

I also have Monarch MK2. But instead of being interested in the MK3, I bought the SA6 MK2 instead. And now I use SA6 MK2 more often than Monarch MK2. Under consideration to sell the Monarch MK2 and keep the SA6 MK2.
I wouldn't really call it a bass heavy track, but it's really good for testing separation of multiple instruments and varies quite a bit between bass, mids, and treble.
Now I wish I had spent my black friday wad on these instead of an Xbox Series X (Series X was cheaper but after buying it I could no longer afford the Mk 3s).

Well I've heard the MkIII and wasn't impressed. Annihilator 2023, Storm, Tia Trio etc are on a different level and much more musical. What you have to understand is that there's a cultural difference in how Chi-Fi is tuned versus the American stuff. To me the difference is enormous in terms of musical enjoyment and well worth paying for.

Nah it w was like 10k an iem mold so seeaudio couldnt make it happen at the time,unsure now
