Another challenge! We used Mike's camera to film this one, hope you enjoy it. Also, music is by Simon Alexander, go and check him out, links at the bottom of the video description.
the caballito is related to a species here called the jack mackerel, Trachurus symmetricus.. I eat them often.. they taste very similar to a smaller yellowtail, to me..
My son and me have recently got into this sea fishing addiction and are having loads of fun. Your video's have been really informative and made it all so simple to understand and that you don't need a large wallet to enjoy this pastime. Great work.
I love it! Excellent video, so good to see father and son having fun on the water. Better than watching the constant Hurricane Irma updates here in South West Florida, it's Snook season and a hurricane will spoil the whole week end for us...oh well that's the price for living here.
I guys another highly entertaining video. Just a note on Smooth hounds in Ireland. We have in fact had them here since the mid 80's. There range was limited to the south east then but now days they are turning up further north along the east coast. Having said that they are still more or less localised along the east and south east. Oh and btw tub gurnard are an absolutely lovely table fish.
Horse mackrel are amazing when fried.Chop their heads off,gut them, roll them in cornmeal, fry then until they become crunchy and their skins turn golden-brown,and then drown them in lemon juice. They don't get big,but they are really tasty and fun to catch on small sabiki rigs.
Scad are great eating, Graeme. A bit bony though. I caught 9 the other evening from Chesil beach. The kids loved reeling them in. Only 3 Mackerel. Where are they?
Gurnard have a lot of spines hidden along their body, pointing towards the tail, including on the gill plates. They are extremely good eating, definitely should have kept that one, great eating size.
nah they are fine. tried em myself. hust dont be an idiot and rip the hook out if their mouths as you set the hook. thats the fishermans mistake not the rods. you dont need to do much but lift the rod a bit to a bend to set the hook. thus when you think about it. you can use any rod for caro youd like
We call those gurnards "Sea Robins" and they are absolutely everywhere! A by-catch when flounder fishing, often referred to as a "trash fish" by the locals. Trash or not, checkout how cool they are!
In Australia we call what you guys call a smooth hound a gummy shark they are extremely good eating and I highly recommend that you guys do a catch and cook smoothhound/gummy shark
Hi, nice video i have a shimano beastmaster 30/50 2 speed , never found some video for clean it and service I would like a video that they did ¿you can plz ?
You guys with the boat make me, a poor guy envy you. Even carp fisheries are a luxury to me. It's my fault for having 5 kids and being married to a women who hates fishing.
Guy's you are the best and I really mean it. instead of doing drugs and shit. you guys making me want to go fishing.all my friends in my age are all ready full with drugs. Thank you (Sorry for the bad English)
Listen, drugs are not optional once you cross the line...if you start there are very few who have the willpower to get off them. I've got through 60 years and never found the need to follow like sheep and take anything.I don't even take headache pills if I can help it.Some people just want to be accepted by others and if at all weak, drop into drugs.I have always wanted to be an individual, not just copy others . Don't worry about being "different"...the thing is you will probably live longer and have a more fulfilling life . If you have not been sucked into the black hole of drug taking then I take my hat off to you. It shows you are prepared ,and have the willpower to say "No,thanks"... There is an old saying.."Don't dance with the Devil"....Once you start even the smallest drug you are on the way to "Loserville". I just wish more people had the willpower and self esteem to keep well away from any form of drug.
Engine and electronics/trailer etc rack up.More like £14/£17,000 for the full rig to go fishing.Still about the cheapest entry level towable sea fishing boat though.
We would do, but Graeme loves a camera that stays on auto settings and he doesn't have to play with any of the buttons. Unfortunately to get the right looking shot with a DSLR you often have to change the aperture, ISO and depth of field. Even though you can put the settings on auto, shots can get blown out quite easily. Plus the battery life on his camcorder is more superior and the zoom is better. I agree, a DSLR produces a much better shot and I prefer using them as you can see on the TA Outdoors channel. But I will be helping film more videos for TAFishing on this camera. Cheers - Mike
We hate those sea robins absolute nuisance while flounder fishing they eat anything that moves and so many go damn spines. They taste eh but you get almost no meat
why put them back, you should keep and eat a couple of the bass even though a little small as long it is mackerel size up wards then eat them, tasty, that rule of putting them back is crazy when trawlers and netters take out thousands a day, so who cares what one anglers catches, people who shout out - who preaches like priests to put bass back no matter what are sad

Pen rod vs Carp rods plz at least with the carp rods you can get out to an island

I love pen rod fishing

Great vid wondering could you do a vid on breeding worms i do it at home but can never manage to grow worms to a decent size
Gurnard have a lot of spines hidden along their body, pointing towards the tail, including on the gill plates. They are extremely good eating, definitely should have kept that one, great eating size.
How do you clean the conger slime of your hands. I always clean it for a couple of days. Do you have any faster ways of cleaning it of?
You should do this with carp
Woah you'd probably wreck their mouths with those broom handle rods
nah they are fine. tried em myself. hust dont be an idiot and rip the hook out if their mouths as you set the hook. thats the fishermans mistake not the rods. you dont need to do much but lift the rod a bit to a bend to set the hook. thus when you think about it. you can use any rod for caro youd like
You should do miles more sea fishing vids👍

Angel Medrano i hate when people call fish trash!!! Stupid misconceptions
In Australia we call what you guys call a smooth hound a gummy shark they are extremely good eating and I highly recommend that you guys do a catch and cook smoothhound/gummy shark
Finally got who u looked like Bruce Forsyth 👍
One time I caught a 6 lb mackerel of killybegs harbour in Ireland on a rapala, I’m not sure what type, the sort that you use for trout
Beach fishing video soon hopefully ? :)
Hi, nice video i have a shimano beastmaster 30/50 2 speed , never found some video for clean it and service I would like a video that they did ¿you can plz ?
Guys, love the shows. What is the back-ground music at the start of this video please. Cheers!
You guys with the boat make me, a poor guy envy you. Even carp fisheries are a luxury to me. It's my fault for having 5 kids and being married to a women who hates fishing.
What was the custom reel that you were using on one of your pen rods?
Would those pen rods be good for catfish and bass?
How did you fit a different real onto the pen rod? I have looked into it a little bit but cant find any small enough.
I think Graeme actually taped it to the reel seat in this episode!
down here in New Zealand we call them Rigg & we eat them , fish n chips mate
What camera is that lads? Looks great!!
proper music
Do another carp fishing vide guys
I want to know if I can fish from the shore for sea fish with a pen rod. That would be lovely and simple and great
Guy's you are the best and I really mean it. instead of doing drugs and shit. you guys making me want to go fishing.all my friends in my age are all ready full with drugs.

What line where you using with the pen rods
Hi how did you get that big reel on the pen rod please
James Archer that is the size of reels that come with them, example when they went pike fishing using them they showed that in the video
23:32 different reel
whats song is that at the start ? and good video
I don't know much about boats… do you have a backup engine?
TheSportyGamer they do it's called swimming
Some Bloke haha
You ever tried the local fish market for bad squid they can't sell I got loads for £4.13 and same weight fresh was £14.77
That's a good tip worth knowing. I am sure the fish don't mind eating a squid past its shelf life.
Hey Graeme, how much roughly was your boat, I was thinking of something like yours, be great to know, have a nice day!
The Pasty it's a Wilson flyer they average around £4000
Engine and electronics/trailer etc rack up.More like £14/£17,000 for the full rig to go fishing.Still about the cheapest entry level towable sea fishing boat though.
TA Outdoors bleedy hell, u can get second hand ones a lot cheaper
TA Outdoors thankyou, I'll have a look into them, is a 60hp enough for it or too much? She looks nice enough to be upwards of 10k
Please could you show us how to do a rag worm farm if that exists
What's the casting weight of the pen rod
In a Gail you could fly it like a kite!!!
We're do u buy them pens rods
please use the DSLR more often its far better.

Neaps are low highs and high lows
We hate those sea robins absolute nuisance while flounder fishing they eat anything that moves and so many go damn spines. They taste eh but you get almost no meat
How far off shore do u go?
Up to about 16 miles for sharking,a lot closer for regular ground fishing.
