this random clip of a sunny day and a surf band playing Miserlou is better than 99.9% of everything else ever made in the history of human evolution.
Thanks Joseph for watching.
Freaking great 🤘
One of, if not the best Versions i've ever heard. Pay attention
So true!
Check out Messer Chups playing Miserlou,… they're the deal.
Tight is right. Awesome performance
one of the best version ive ever listened to, well done
Absolutely f****** phenomenal
Slack tone was one of the best and still are. Thanks for sharing.
Its a wonder the stage didnt collapse with this much talent in one place at one time...
Hi Dave, Thanks for recording this fantastic performance by the great Slacktone! Hope you are doing well.
Thank you, glad you like the video. If I remember correctly, I originally didn't post Miserlou because I prefer original songs, but Dave Wronski wanted to see Miserlou.
All this with only one guitar ? This guy is beyond amazing !
Such a beautiful piece of music and these guys own it
This man's soul is trying to leave his body but he's pulling it back in through his guitar
All the band is excellent but the drummer is fantastic!!!!
the fact this is better than the way dick dale plays it, genuinely scares me
That was amazing!
Wow great cover and really great capture. Thanks for sharing.
They sound as if there were five of them. Very amazing performance.
After seeing Dick Dale the first time around 2003, it took a while before I realized that Dusty was also on Lita Ford's first album about 20 years earlier.
Dusty & Sam were also in Agent Orange for a time.
Absolutely AMAZING!
this is a fun version, nice
Wow So cool! All three kick ass, cheers!
Dave just owns each song, he just puts his heart and soul into each tune, love it!
This folks, is superb, old school, surf music on display. They just walk out of Miserlou right into a final flurry of Rumble...unheard of, yet they do it so seamless & natural. Dick Dale & Link Wray in one song by truly talented players who love the music, Wow!
That was fantastic
what a great sound ..! Fabulous ..!
First Surf Album I purchased and first Internet Purchase I ever made from this band, Into the Blue Sparkle.
It doesn't get better than this!!
Beautiful work, sounds outstanding. All 3 musicians rock this......then Rumble!!!! I'm getting chills daddy.....hahaha
I had to rewatch all these awesome Slacktone vids after seeing them play live yesterday at the pier. Dave F, thank you so much for your diligence with these, your uploads are greatly appreciated. The audio, visual, and overall content of your videos is superb.
Thank you :) Maybe I will have a couple Slacktone videos from Sunday, per band approval.

Awesome stuff !!!!!
Excellent! BTW, listening to the intro here I've caught myself thinking this tune would be a great black-metal composition! 😬🤘
Outstanding!

HB best beach town, hope to return soon !
The 2024 Surfin Sundays are June 23, July 14, Aug 19, Sept 29 & Oct 13. Don't know who is playing
OutGoddamnStanding!
Thanks Dave F! When I watched this I literally cried. I live in Nebraska now because I must. But as a California native I used to frequent Huntington Beach. The pier. The beach. The drum circle...Main Street...PCH...etc. Your performance reminded me of when I played with my friends in SoCal with my bands. And sometimes we'd even play Surf music too. Bless all of you! I so hope this lineup as of 2024 is still ariund and Rockin'! Carry on gents!
WOW !!!!!!!!
oh yeah!
Solid drumming
drummer Dusty Watson.
"Man I love the drummer" he plays like me"" "No respect for his sticks and skins"" love it,
Pure surf music sorcery.
Cool!!!!!
So fucking good. Bravo 👏
I am not familiar with this group but watching a middle aged man absolutely fucking shred the guitar and make those faces, and then begin to just howl towards the end is incredible.

Age means nothing, someday hopefully you'll realize that Look up Les Paul. And all those rockers from 1950s, 1960s, 1970, 1980s, are as old as this guy.
@@luckyshow Obviously it doesn't, it's just not quite what I was expecting honestly. Pleasantly surprised, 10/10
Didn't Sam Bolle play with Dick Dale?
Excellent what song was that at the end?
The beginning of Link Wray's "Rumble"
@@tikibongo99 fucking awesomeness 👌
What model of Fender Jaguar is that and color? Awesome sound!
Heaviest surf you can find?

Hava negila meets black sabbath. Isnt that how they made Kiss?
Isn't that last song a Link Wray song??
Oh yeah that was ..Rumble
Surf guitarists love Link Wray. The annual Link Wray Rumble is June 3. www.laweekly.com/event/link-wray-guitar-rumble-9455422
Dick Dale Chubby Checker Xavier Cugat and hundreds more
I’m dying to know how that intro riff was made. What’s the note hopping technique called?
Just alternating between open E string and the tune. Try listening at half speed.
@@manuellayburr382 Thanks, I’ve actually tried this myself since making the comment, copied the notes and got pretty far in imitating the intro riff style.
Even after this I’m still left wondering what type of strumming pattern that is, it’s got sort of a middle eastern feel I can’t put my finger on. I would honestly be surprised if slacktone of all bands was really the first one to play surf like that because then to me it’s revolutionary and underrated. If you or anyone can point to other bands/music genres with that kind tremolo picking that would be awesome because with slacktone, sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint their influence.
@@Robert-qn4ox The earliest surf version was I believe by Dick Dale in 1963 (plays guitar left-handed with thinnest strings upwards!) th-cam.com/video/5Fb5apHfjug/w-d-xo.html - Before that you have to go back to the original ballad - th-cam.com/video/n3tJ_XyBwyE/w-d-xo.html
@@Robert-qn4ox Dick Dale's trademark was this style of playing as you will find if you search for him on TH-cam.
Surf music is an amazing story. Read up on it. Dick Dale bought guitars and amps directly
From Leo Fender. When he kep blowing up his little Princeton amps Leo and Freddy Tavares went to see Dick Dale in concert.
That was the exact moment of inspiration for bigger, louder amps; The Showman, Deluxe Reverb and Twin Reverb. The start of guitar shredders and loud amps began in SoCal with Dick Dale and Surf Music.
That looks like Dick Dales old bass player?
Sam Bolle plays bass with Slacktone. Sam played with Dick Dale for many a year.
Anyone know what chords he plays between each phrase?
You can ask him on his channel Slacktone Dave
@@tikibongo99 Okay, thanks!
Is that a JBL D120-F?
No clue. Dave W always uses his 2 amps. He has his own channel. You can ask him directly.
@@tikibongo99 Ok! What's the name of the channel, if you know?
@@fuzzyloomchannel Slacktone Dave
Thats how you do it!
oceanic 815?
Who are these 7 people? WTF do you want from a surf band? I swear they gave you everything you could ever want short of lighting the entire stage on fire while they play.
and Slacktone goes pretty much full tilt like this their whole set, aside from a quieter song or 2.
Other lesser jealous musicians prolly
👍🙂
