      How Mr. Duncan said, "He loves kids. Children bring him a lot of joy as they do to everyone who appreciates them." The only other person I could pick with that description would be Mr. Rogers as he too loved kids and really understood them and was wonderful with his own kids and grandkids.

      People are just afraid and offended by everything now. We keep giving our politicians money, just to see it go towards taking more and more education out of schools. Or trying to erase history of bad people who did bad things. Not a fan of our current society.
      You might as well not talk to the average person now. People are fucking crazy. Because it isn't just about saying this line to anyone now would be considered creepy. Everything you can possibly say nowadays is considered offensive or creepy to everybody. Kind of sad really.

    That's one of my dreams, is to own a huge toy store. And make sure every child leaves with something, even for those who don't have enough money. I would make sure they leave with a couple of toys, especially on the holidays. This gentleman character, is a whole lot like my character. Especially, seeing children's faces light up with joy, is what I love the most. Along with many more generous contributions. However, for now, I'll keep striving until it's fulfilled. One day...

      Uh, to my opinion, Mr. Duncan is nothing like Willy Wonka, Mr. Duncan is a kindhearted man who cares about kids while Wonka is a psycho, he endangered the lives of those kids, and even though those kids were rotten, it was still child endangerment on what Wonka did to them, he doesn’t care about kids like Mr. Duncan does, and just to be clear, I’m talking about the 1971 version of Willy Wonka, not the 2005 version

      @colbykanter2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are still many people from an older generation now who are very sincere, honest, aware, and giving as he is. You'll find people like him in good neighborhoods, especially if they learn to care about you through the years. There are a lot of people who don't care to understand how to be happy like him, especially by appreciating others. There are still good and nice people that will care about you, but if you look at the changes in the general public everywhere today, it is absolutely a heartbreaking nightmare, and nobody cares to help fix it, not for themselves, or anyone that they care for. Practically everyone has an attitude, nobody cares for anyone, nobody wants to smile back at you, everyone looks away from you, people hate to be stared at, they go overboard of falsely accusing people for the wrong things, people make excuses to not want a relationship, people have no considerations or concerns for others, nobody talks to you if they don't care to know you, people are unwelcome in many places, obscene language is heard everywhere, we're left to fend for ourselves without love in our life whether we like it or not, unimportant people are left behind forever, and so many people are lonely without the help of others, ever. There is no love in the world at all anymore, even at your time of need. This is a terrible, restrictive, oppressive, relentless, hopeless, and depressing world that we're living in. I'm tired of everything.

    • @qunt100
      @qunt100 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@colbykanter2000 It really is a terrible world nowadays. Everything is so corporatized and politicized to the absolute death. And in my mind, that is the definition of insanity. The 90's was also the last decade really before the average person got to experience the internet. In my op, it really has showcased the worst in people. Some good things. But alot of terrible things to.
      I think I got my first cell phone ever in like 2012. And the only real thing I use it for, is google maps. I can live without everything else. The twittering. The twitching. The tik tokking. The meming. The politics. The corporatizedness. The wokeness. The inclusivity. The facebooking. I can live without all of that bullshit.
      Most people seem to be fine with all of their personal info being sold also. I am not a fan of that. And that is how all of these companies make their money. Personal info and ads.
      Most people seem to value the politics of things, and the money of things, rather than what the right thing is. Or the value of human life.
      No standard of quality now. Anyone in their mother right now can be an influencer. That isn't really a good thing.
      I just don't like our current society as it is. We are evolving into something that is terrible and makes no sense. Back in the 90's, we seemed to have a normal society. Now we don't anymore. Everyone is insane.

    Mr Duncan has to be a ghost. The way he disappears so quick after this scene, he’s in a boxed in cashier booth, and if he was an old guy there’s no way he just bent over that fast. And his portrait that Kevin looks at, given that portraits are more of an antiquity thing, I feel it’s doubtful that was painted recently meaning he was old when it was painted.

    If it wasn't for Rex Everhart, I think Eddie Bracken would have been a perfect alternative to play the voice of Maurice, Belle's father in the 1991 Disney cartoon adaptation of Beauty and the Beast! Just my two cents though. 😉👌

      @aga war Maybe when he told Kevin that Kevin can take whatever he wanted off the tree but when Mr. Duncan saw the turtle doves, he knew that the turtle doves were the best on the tree which was something Kevin can cherish forever having a friend forever.

    From 0:33-0:34, did Kevin use bad grammar when he asked "I can have two" since Mr. Duncan said "well, two turtle doves?" Wasn't that what Kevin asked saying "I can have two turtle doves?"

    • @Destructor2007
      @Destructor2007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Kevin asked "I can have *two*?" with surprise. Mr. Duncan clarified: "Well, two turtle doves." This was to clarify that he could not have two of any other ornament BUT the turtle doves, as he would go on to explain why.

    • @afriendofbean
      @afriendofbean 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Destructor2007 Yes, I know Mr. Duncan was telling Kevin to take the turtle doves and when Kevin asked "I can have two", it was like Mr. Duncan was saying "not two, but two turtle doves" like he was expecting him to say "turtle doves" in the sentence. But yes, I can understand that Mr. Duncan meant "you don't get to keep two but you are given two turtle doves."

    • @ladyfire44
      @ladyfire44 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mr. Duncan explained how the turtledoves actually worked. Kevin is to keep one and the other is given to a very special person in his life. He gave the 2nd turtledove to the homeless lady in Central Park because she was kind to him and she saved him from Harry and Marv.

    • @afriendofbean
      @afriendofbean 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ladyfire44 Yes, I remember Mr. Duncan told Kevin all this including how turtledoves mean friendship and love and as long as him and his special person has their turtledoves, they'll be friends forever. Also yes, I remember him giving the second turtledove to the pigeon lady. Of course, I did wonder in the beginning as to why he chose her because he didn't know her that well and he was going to be heading back to his home state in Chicago soon since he won't be seeing her ever again where I thought Kevin should have chosen someone in his home state he knows very well (like Mitch Murphy for example if he was close friends with him or maybe even Marley since Marley is his neighbor). I was thinking the same thing that maybe he gave the second turtledove to the pigeon lady for saving him from Harry and Marv that if it wasn't for her, he would have died from Harry and Marv feeling he owes her friendship. But other people said that maybe he gave the pigeon lady the second turtledove because she had a bad life losing her home, her job, and her husband who divorced her and not having any friends and decided to spend her life in Central Park where pigeons felt bad for her and stayed with her. Not only that, some other people felt that the reason Kevin gave her the second turtledove because in the Radio City music hall scene where they had a conversation, Kevin told her that he promises to never forget her and she told him not to make promises that he can't keep and him giving her the second turtledove meant he was serious on what he said.

      He said “well two turtle doves” as to allude to the 12 Days of Christmas song. As in “you can have two turtles doves because they go together due to the song,” that’s all that was meant.
