    Without a doubt the best paint brushes I have ever used. And one of the best ever import to the UK from the USA.

    As a pro painter I use Purdy brushes every day. Some of their quality has gone down, but above average. I use a wire brush and it never has hurt not shortened the life of the brush, I even used it on Nylox burshes, though some don't recommend it. I still have the Nylox brush after 2 years and most of my brushes don't last a few months because of constant usage. I always use a comb in HOT water as it softens the paint and eases cleaning. I kick out the brush on my heel, being careful not to damage the metal. Lastly, I use the package it came in as it helps retain the shape.

    Always let the paint brush dry out first before putting it back in the keeper. If you put it in the keeper wet, the keeper will eventually fall apart from soaking up the water. Also, the brush will take several days or more to dry out. If you need to use again before its completely dry, it won't work nearly as well as it would if it had dried out.

    Best brushes money can buy. You pay a little extra for something of quality. Only nit pick is I Wish the keeper wasn’t made of paper but with duct tape it becomes semi permanent and will outlast the brush if you forget to clean it a few days

    Apologies if this was addressed previously but didn't go thru all the comments. Over the years I've had better results cleaning, be it water or oil based paints, if I saturated my brush with water or paint thinner, respectively, and slinging out the excess before introducing my brush to the paint. Any comments on this?

      Hi there, thank you for reaching out. We have had customers do this before painting depending on the base of the paint or product they are using, it's not something that is required but it can be done. We encourage you to contact us directly via live chat during business hours (9AM-4PM ET) on Purdy.com via live chat and or send us a detailed inquiry: at www.purdy.com/en/contact-us with any further questions you may have. Thank you.

    Great in theory but whose brush has that little amount of paint on it? Cutting in on ceiling the brush was fully soaked with paint even into the ferrule area. Repeated rinsing over 5 minutes and there was still paint dimming out of the brush (dark blue). So do I not soak the brush and instead stand there spending more time cleaning the brush than it took to paint the curling?

      Minok1217 get a pot of clean water , not hot, dab the brush pushing down hard continually empty then fill back up continue process until water stays clear. Takes about a minute and wire brush the dried hard paint at the ferrel.

    Do you not let the brush air dry first before placing it back in packaging, or does it dry well enough inside the packaging?

    • @PurdyPaintTools
      @PurdyPaintTools  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Jennifer La Vacca Thank you for reaching out to us! Either way will work to help the brush maintain its shape. Putting it back in the keeper while damp will help, but it will shorten the life of the keeper. We hope we answered your question.

      Spin the brush in your hands like he did but do it longer, then put it up. If you put it in wet sleeve is ruined next day or hang it by the hole in handle until you feel it's dry

      I’ve used the same outfit brushes and brush keepers for three years. Try Purdy Chinex bristles. My cases have not fallen apart but don’t put it in saturated. Clean your brush good, and then hold the handle like you’re trying to light a fire and spin that thing until it’s barely damp. Your cover and Velcro will remain fine.

    Won't your sink drain get full of paint after some time and start clumping up and plug it up?

    • @brandonpatterson8877
      @brandonpatterson8877 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not with water based latex paint. Water based paint breaks down with water so it won’t clog the drains.

    better just hold on to the package it comes in, that brush they wrapped in paper is going to be all kinds of crazy shaped when they go to use it next.

    Great brush, but purdy why not make the package or the keeper in plastic I like because soon as I wash my brush I like to put in in the package but it does not last long at all because it made out of paper. PURDY MAKE THE KEEPER OUT OF PLASTIC

    • @albertcarlon8407
      @albertcarlon8407 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't understand why purdy won't sell just the keepers, for a small fee. I make my own out of plastic just make a copy out of an old one and cut it with an exacto knife very easy. I buy the thin plastic sheet at any stationary store plus the round stick on Velcro.

    if you are at all professional in your painting trade or even have an inkling of what is right thing to do environmentally ... you should not wash your painting get in a sink for it to go into the drain - environment.
