20 years ago I purchased a Peavey Wolfgang Custom Deluxe, it was by all accounts the best guitar I have ever owned, and when I lost my job and had to sell it a few years later, it was the ONLY instrument that I've ever made money on... And I've owned A LOT of guitars over the past 37 years. When you picked up that guitar, it just made you a better player. My conundrum is what to do when I'm ready to buy another guitar... I already have a San Dimas, a Jackson and a Baretta Special, but I need just one more and when the time comes it will either be a Wolfgang or a standard Baretta with a Floyd. I absolutely LOVE my Baretta Special, of my guitars it's the most fun to play, but it's Achilles heel is the lack of a Floyd. If anyone has owned both, I'd love to get your thoughts on which one you liked more... And before anyone says it, I've seen all of the videos where guys upgrade their Baretta Specials to have a Floyd, and that's just not the kind of headache I'm looking for.
I have the 1984 and the JB with the Floyd is really nice. Have you considered the pacers they just came out with recently with the Floyd’s? There are a lot of really cool Kramer paint schemes Gibson has out now too. Never realized it until I saw them on display at the Gibson garage. 😎🤟🏻
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Actually, I played a pacer at a local music store not far from my house. The neck felt very different than my Baretta, however it was still a decent guitar for the money.

Great playing dude! I love the purple quilt/flame. Sweet guitar. I used to have a Peavey WG Special… hate I sold it, but anyway. This may be blasphemy, but I hope the Wolfgang Headstock evolves in the future. I have never liked it visually after leaving Peavey Ed removed the chunk of wood & made it look like a bottle opener. I'm waiting for my purple daze 5150 deluxe, but I had recently lost my job and it looks like I'm not going to be able to get. It has put me in massive state of depression because my current guitar is out of commission.
I have that very model and love it.
It’s a great guitar man! Cheers. 🥂
Wow. Wolfgangs. Awesome.
Still play my Peavey Wolfgang Exp great guitar, came with the D tuner. And zebra pickups, I just think Wolfgang look better with zebras.
Great playing as always 👏
Great playing dude! I love the purple quilt/flame. Sweet guitar. I used to have a Peavey WG Special… hate I sold it, but anyway. This may be blasphemy, but I hope the Wolfgang Headstock evolves in the future. I have never liked it visually after leaving Peavey Ed removed the chunk of wood & made it look like a bottle opener. I like what WVH has done with the headstock on his semi-hollow WG prototypes. Anyway…STILL GOOD STUFF AS ALWAYS!
Thanks so much Billy! 😎🙌
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker you're welcome. Dude, I need to check out your band stuff & musical endeavors... where I can I find that? I may have already asked, but I don't remember... the weed is so strong...heehee I wish we were closer (Asheville, NC), I want to come do science experiments on the deck with you & Skipper! My kinda fun.
@@BillyE5150 check out dead Hollywood stuntmen on TH-cam and Apple Music/Spotify.
Also check out snow black Sunday on TH-cam and or Apple Music/Spotify
Some of my instrumental stuff is posted on my channel but mostly I keep that to myself. Lol.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker thank you sir, will do... looking forward to it
@@BillyE5150 cool. It’s a decent sampling of some stuff. Two completely different projects - styles. Back during the fame chasing days. lol.
Great vid mate, you rip it up
Thanks so much!! 🙌
I dig the Indonesian guitars man. PRS is doing great there. Gorgeous finish!
significant color
Thank you. 🙏
Try the StringJoy 9 12 15 24 32 44 pure nickel Broadways. Game changer for me. Won’t use anything else anymore. Perfectly balanced and they last f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
Awesome!
I have the same guitar but it doesn’t sound like that. Maybe I need new strings… haha
Lol! Man this thing was in so need of strings. 😂
Even the frankie, a $2000 guitar has a licensed floyd. The 1984 floyd should be standard on them.
Someone told me these cheaper Wolfgangs have a lower grade Floyd than the higher grade models. Not sure if that is true. Like cheaper metals or something,.. Either way, I really like it and it seems high quality to me. 🤟
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker I have the wg standard in olive drab. Threw a gotoh 1996 on it. Came with a brass block. Plus the fine tuners actually fine tune!
A little Van-Hagar…atta boy!!!!
Yes sir! 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻
Purple nurple oh yeah
It is a purple nurple. It’s kind pink though ain’t it? In between?
Nice! I hope mines a good one! Not as pretty as yours! Black fade we'll see! Thanks Marty!
Sounds like it will be beautiful ! 😎
Marty I have a standard Quilt in the green and I love it more than my special don’t ask why it just sings to me!!! It likes to be played as well
Funny how certain guitars just speak more than others. It's always gonna be a mystery. 😁🎵🎵☮️
I love flat top guitars, who brainwashed us to believe a pot bellied pear shaped top is more attractive.
I bought a Kramer Baretta over the Wolfgang. I'm a Fender fanboy but the EVH brand has at least a 20% markup on everything, because of the logo, so there is no value.
It’s a Wolfgang Standard
Yep! WG Standard with a d-tuna installed later. 🙌
If you decide to sell. Please contact me, thank you.
