Buzzing to carry on with this series I enjoy doing this, breaking down what I think I see world class Tattoo Artists do, so here's part 3! I show you one of my favourite ways to teach myself how to pick up techniques from some of the worlds best artists, its always hard not working in a studio especially around good tattooists so this is a video explaining what I'm looking at!

Jason Ramos uses 1203 rl for thick pepper shading Nd to build up Lines. He uses 1003 and 0803 for face shading Nd eyes, Nd he’s been recently using 0603 for smoother shading. I’m taking his online class and been fallowing em for a while, he says he does semi realistic work

Love Jasons style of working, big fan! He uses around 20-25 cartridges of just 3RLs to complete a single forearm piece, just to make sure the needles are sharp enough.
I can’t believe but you have taught me so much through out that video. It seems to me like you have just given me an opportunity to go further and be a good observer. Please share more videos like this. Cause by sharing this videos, you give me so much will to go on. Most of the time people just criticize you, you can’t learn what you should do at all. Jason Ramos is great at his style and have to respect that just like gots to give you respect for your style Oliver. Styles make artist, imagine we all tattoed the same how boring that would be. Much respect to you Oliver thank you for all your tips and advice I'm learning everyday .

Hey Oliver I know your channel is centered arround your style same as the artists you analize but would you be down to explain the techniques of some japanese or american traditional artists? Specially traditional seems very easy to the eye but the way they control the shadows or the filliing it's amazing

Jason tends to try different tattoo machines, he uses Xion, Dragonhawk, Bishop, Cheyenne, and he does the same with cartridges but I think he prefer to use Quelle

@0:20 thats hot for y'all 36°c is equal to 96°f thats crazy hot for the UK ... its 112°f where i live in California but its a dry heat i can only imagine the Humidity you guys are having with the high temps
Living on the coast in southern texas is terrible for heat+humidity almost year round.😅😅😅
I do a lot of whipshading in my work, and dude, everything matters! Its fucking crazy. The motor, the machine, the stroke, voltage and the cartridge gives a complete difference on the result. i like to use some cartridges that are not so much precise to do some smooth whipshading and transitions
Its a tight .25 3 rl. Bug pin I use one too.

I fallow jason ramos and he uses bug pin rl but does use standard el as well.
From what I've seen it all depends on the stippling technique you use for realistic faces, pony lawson gets away with it and gets great results...but he uses the bishop 5.0 stroke...great video as always bro
