Must’ve looked cool to see trees seemingly growing out of the ocean.

A fun fact about the cascading quake. It was so powerful it managed to throw a tsunami across the Pacific Ocean at Japan. They called it the Orphan Wave, because they have long associated tsunami as being ‘born’ from earthquakes. And suddenly, in the middle of the night, there was a tsunami with no noticeable earthquake to have fathered it. Can you imagine how scary that would be, like a tornado on a sunny, cloudless day, or a nor’easter in May , or a blizzard in June, or a sandstorm in the Pacific Northwest, or a sunny day in England.
I wish I knew who it was that discovered the connection between the two, and how they connected the dots between an anomalous wave in Japan, and a collection of the same earthquake/tsunami story told by every indigenous American culture with a presence on the western coast.

4,110 subscribers. Hopefully you'll at least exceed 10,000 subscribers by December 2021 (6 months from this comment). You should create a Patreon account sooner rather than later!
