    A great video to have on file, I did this last year and wasn't as smooth as it could have been. I didn't know about the tension screw system under the pump.

    anytime that I was aligning some pullies, I used a metal ruler or yardstick and laid it against the edge of the pulleys to make sure they touched in two places on each pulley. Eyeballs are not always enough.

    Mike Great video! Only thing I couldn’t figure out was how to back the pulley off of my Honda engine side. My pump pulley is offset and I can’t push it in anymore, so I have to come out with my engine, but it’s not budging

    Great video awesome work my brother! Quick question where can I buy the belts from and don’t they sell one single wide belt that goes on the whole pulley ?

      You can buy those belts at any auto parts store. Southside Equipment May sell the solid belt.

    Mike, thank you for this video. I’ve done this job twice now, most recently just yesterday. Both times it’s been my experience that when I tighten the tensioning bolt, after reinstalling everything, the pump ends up skewed a little too far right on the end closest to the bolt. This is because the tension of the belts is pulling back on the pulley on the right side (obviously). It’s my thought that the tensioning bolt should be positioned further to the right to counteract that effect. Questions: have you experienced the same thing? If so, any tricks to deal with it. Seems like a long standing issue as the last time I did this was on a 4 and that had to be 10 years ago. Thanks!

      Well, that’s a great question. I don’t think I’ve had an is. That being said, perhaps it is, and I just didn’t notice

      @@TheFreshRinseThank you. Yes, this time it was slight and the machine seems to running smooth and the belts/pulleys looked to be well-aligned. Last time I fought with it (tightening certain bolts, trying to get it to pivot left, etc) and I was never happy with my end result.

  • @JOOSEBOXDRIP

    Hey I really like your setups and how you are running your business. What is your opinion on going gear drive vs belt? I like the idea of belt drive the most, but i have a gx390 and am wondering if the the headache is worth getting the correct bushings, pulleys, belt etc to bring it all together. Worth it or just bolt up a gear drive?

    • @JOOSEBOXDRIP
      @JOOSEBOXDRIP ปีที่แล้ว

      Also forgot to ask you if that skidplate with the bolt adjustment was custom made or not...

    • @TheFreshRinse
      @TheFreshRinse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would not use a machine that isn’t belt drive, if I could afford it. They simply last much longer. The skid plate is factory.

    Hey Mike
    Just got a brand new 10gpm of this unit.
    The belt came apart after just four hours of use!
    Took the belt to tbe those who specialize in belts and pulleys and was told that tbe there was too much tension and also the pulleys were not aligned correctly!
    Have you heard of this happening before with this manufacturer?
    The company I bought it from was kind enough to fed ex me a new quad belt!
    A brand new one out here is about 170 dollars!
    I see you are using individual belts which they do not recommend.
    Have you had any issues with those?
    So this evening I will be working on moving pumps, and pulley to reinstall the belts correctly!
    Thanks for such an informative video!!!

      Hey brother. I’m no expert on this stuff. I just know the basic stuff, to be honest. Those belts are 2000 hours old, so… they seem to be fine.

  • @mkhilterbrand
    @mkhilterbrand 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What is the number on those belts? Those single V belts look a lot easier to take off and put on. I have to wide belt on that my skid kit came with. The wide belt you have to take off and put on the drive pulley and bushing to do it.

    • @TheFreshRinse
      @TheFreshRinse  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure the number. I just take the old belt to the auto parts store. They match it up.
