I think the "problem" is people wanted more "black metal" but what they got was Nightwish. ANother problem Ipersonally have is, that it sounded too happy imo, and I find that "satanistic" theme not really fitting with that extremely happy sounding song. Musicially not bad, for sure, but not my cup of tea, at least not with this band. Maybe it was only the "off song" of that record. THe rest of the record could be darker, at least I hope so, but I doubt it.
It is fine, it sounds good, but it is not as complex as other songs from them. The keyboards work is good, reminds me Burzum, I need to listen the whole album to see how it sounds. The track is fine, the band definitely is always changing and looking for new sounds. Evolution is important in music, I don´t see the point of having a lot of albums with the same sound over and over. I like the romantic ideal of "true black metal" but it was not real, even in the so called "inner circle". This in the end is a product, is merchandise and they need to sell to buy their beers and food. So I understand the change in the sound, but the albums before In Sorte Diabolii are best ones.
Solo idea: tornado of souls - Megadeth. I think you out the right amount of feel and vibrato for the beginning part to sound awesome and then of course have the chops to play the fast bits.

In the lesson part you talk to us like we just picked up guitar yesterday or something lol I'm pretty sure that total beginners are not going to try learn this solo straight away so no need to explain how octaves work
Well I figured there are a lot of beginners out there, and some of them might wanna learn it so I should just include it, and those who already know it can just skip ahead 8 seconds :) But I see your point, I'll consider that for next time
I guess someone always has to cimplain about something. If you feel offended by the way he teaches, than you should be able to learn it by ear by yourself. When i was a beginner i would have been very happy about an easy solo of one of my fav bands presented like this. Keep up the good work GP
