The ability to put this from imagination to automaton art is fantastic. Kudos to the people who make these devices. The piano music is the perfect choice.! This would be a good option for those who want to extend themselves at school.!!
If anyone is interested there are far more interesting automata to be seen. These exhibits pale in comparison to some 19th century automata, in complexity, style and culture. There is an automata museum in York which is covered on TH-cam and has some truly mindblowing creations. Some hundreds of years old. The craftsmanship is just incredible.
According to comments under a vid of the York museum, it closed 10 or so years ago when a Japanese man bought the entire collection and shipped it back to Japan.
you could always learn it, there are tutorials of basic movements. i don't think you need fancy equipment, some of this stuff is made out of paper, you learn the basic movements and build on that. i think the hardest things to do would be learning some gear ratios and cam designs. these are awesome, but these guys have been doing it for years. it would probably be a great educational toy if there's not already one on the market. some lego toy or something similar already exists, but there's probably room for other -- and less expensive -- competitors.
@@ryanbarker5217 I made a flying pig from a kit! It was interesting to learn how the gears move and I could imagine the gears making different movements. Always been fascinated with them. The Gormenghast is incredible! Thanks for the inspiration!
@@SisterDogmata thanks. the whole pins-in-the-wheel mechanism would probably pretty easy to print out as right-angle gears (i assume they're designed already). i'm sure someone out there is using barbies from a garage sale as figures or just cheap toys in general.
I so LOVE ❤these things and get endless enjoyment just looking at the videos of them. My heart skips a little at the thought of ever seeing one actually in person, and owning one would probably end me for quite a time !!! I had to stop the video and sometimes scrunch my eyes real hard to try & read the title of the piece. 😵💫 If there was a tight budget I'd say that all together they did a really good job of capturing their magnificence!
They look nice and creative and all. And I fully admit that I couldn't build them. But, I can"t shake the feeling that it is like going through the dark age of automata, when compared with "the real stuff" of the seventeenth and eighteenth century
@@egrace3738 Yes this is our "assessment". This is a beautiful modern art exhibit, but regarding the skill-level mechanical wise, this is nothing in comparison to what watchmakers are able to and were able to build.
I fully agree. These modern automata completely disregard the point of old automata which was to imitate realistic movement while concealing as much of their inner workings as possible.
SON BONITOS Y ENTRETENIDOS PARA MIRAR 5 MINUTOS. ME GUSTAN MUCHO MAS LOS PUZZLES CREATIVOS DE DESAFÍO DE LA LOGICA. MUY DIFICILES DE ENCONTRAR. ÉSTO ESTA BIEN Y CURIOSO PARA NIÑOS Y ADOLESCENTES. AUNQUE ESTAS MONERIAS NO LES INTERESEN LO MÁS MINIMO, Y DESARROLLAN LA INTELIGENCIA CREATIVA. MUY MONOS !!!

Humans have so much potential to be wonderful and weird I love it❤
There are some inspirationally genius pieces of art there!
Piękne i mądre te kreacje! Nie mogłem się oderwać :) Nowoczesność i elektronika zabijają to co najpiękniejsze.
Pozdrawiam
Wonderful exhibition of basic automata, thank you it has given me answers to some of my problems.

Wow! I love these. I'd love to have the skill to make one.

@@SisterDogmata sounds like you have a basic understanding. if you did some 3D printing, you could do any of this stuff!
@@ryanbarker5217 Hadn't thought of that! Brilliant idea!

tus creaciones estan asombrosas como un paiz de las creaciones,me encanta.
These are really cool, but closer to a whirligig than a fortune-telling automata.
very nice indeed. I would also like to ask what is meant to be told in the work named "zuppa turca"?
me too !!!! you reminded me but I was wondering as it flashed by quickly.
The clips cut too quickly. Every time I start looking at the mechanism it cuts away. Wish you would have lingered on each machine 50% longer.

Genial! Gracias por compartirlo 👍🏿
Interessante!!!
Ensine como se faz.
Is there a pendulum that swings for a very long time?
Super Géniale! Stéph.
Excelente ❤
Great! Where is this museum? Is it open for public or just online collection?
CREÍ QUE ERAN AUTÓMATAS ANTIUOS, QUE LOS HAY Y MUCHOS DEL SIGLO XVII EN ADELANTE.
A reason to live

You are absolutely right. Have you seen this one? 😅

I agree. They all appeared to be crude block figures, so unlike the beautiful lifelike ones I have seen. Very disappointed.
Eu o essa arte, obrigada por partilhar conosco
i work with an individual who is a ..watchmaker, would love to see some of their personal projects.
Very CooL!
All my problems just evaporated for 14 min. 9 sec.
