At 70 It saddened me to watch it all unfold. As a parent I try to help but now I'm tired of trying. Unfortunately it's too late for most even those who consider themselves to be well educated. Society is strong when people pull together, they can achieve great things, but the lost generations are weak and often just plain lazy, unwilling to invest in themselves believing all should come to them without much effort or sacrifice, such is the state of the post modern society.

These ideas of postmodernism even though they are common on the Internet, they are simply not true, no major philosopher would argue feeling are better at arriving at truth than reason.
What they would argue for is that reason was used to oppress people, major philosophers argued in favour of slavery in the past. Was reason at fault? Of course not they simply reasoned wrongly, and don't be arrogant to believe it won't happen again. and thats what postmodernist want to get post, they want to undermine the conclusions we arrive at through reason because we simply might be wrong like we have in the past.
You can reaaon all you want that capitalism is the best economic system, but to BELIEVE that we will never find anything better than it, is delusional, and thats what postmodernists are saying.
youre brainwashed, you outsource thinking and reasoning to people who have their best interests to keep the status quo. And we need the oppressed to argue against the system. If we allowed slaves to reason we might have ended slavery sooner, if we allowed black people to reason we might have ended racism sooner.
To conclude, postmodernism doesn't want to reject the truth, it just dont want us to BELIEVE it the ULTIMATE truth, if that makes sense, because just like people believed in god as the ultimate truth they will kill and oppress for this truth.
And they have very good arguments for it, what i mentioned are not their arguments, im merely defending their conclusions.

It is complete bull, socialism, communism or marxism is not the "father" of horseshit post-modernism. We have been fighting against these little fucks since the 70's (by we I mean marxists). There is really nothing more annoying than when ignorant people on the right call this caricature of a thought current "cltural neo marxism". This shit is not Marxism or Socialism or anything that has to do with epistemological and materialist currents. We are modernists (Marxists) they are-postodernists, they revolt against us and ultimately against reason and science. Post-modernism is the edgy fat goth girl from highschool that nobody would have touched with a 10ft pole that ultimately ended up a shriveled up roadside crackwhore and you need to be high as fuck to "understand" her mumbling or we can just call it philosophical rabies.

Postmodernism is the transcendence of all structures and the awareness of how arbitrary human constructions are. It has similarities with some interpretations of the sigma meme. 🤣 It's curious that most so-called post-moderns get stuck on observing power structures and complaining about them instead of dedicating more time to transcending them. To me, they are a strange mixture of postmodernism, Marxian modernism, and antimodernism. In my opinion, postmodernism is not only about transcending good and evil. It is also about transcending strength and weakness, the modern and the primitive, the spiritual and the material, order and disorder, and the serious and the joking.

There is an issue, it’s the issue that brought me to put Rand to the side as a speaker of some wisdom but not the whole. The issue or falsehood is that posed by Rousseau, that man left to himself is free. This is false. The freedom of man is tied intrinsically to the binds of community. Freedom is an ideal that is paradoxical. It’s an ideal that Rand asserts in The Virtue of Selfishness in much the same way Sartre asserts in Being and Nothingness. In the end these two philosophies only play off each other finding no rest for they are uncompromising in the pursuit of some paradoxical ideal. They have no ability to rest in the pursuit of utopia for utopia by definition is nowhere. One asserts a completely objective utopia (Atlantis) and the other a completely subjective. One asserts the freedom of a rock and the other the freedom of death. In the end the rock isn’t much different than death and both can be found in the cemetery. Neither are the freedom of a man.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Freedom is bound by the context and conditions everyone lives under. Communism of the 20th century was very modernist. Something no one seems to know is that inside the communist bloc of Europe, Asia and Cuba the government strongly advocated people to follow moral virtues as part of the process of collectivism and despised moral liberal, ideas except for antiracism, and pointing it out as being linked with capitalism. In the communist side of the world the most hated group of people were homosexuals, something that still prevails to this day in the former and remaining nations of communism. I said before that racism was badly seen in communist nations, but that was just what they said to the west by supporting black liberation movements in the US and Africa; only Cuba is the country that universally rejects racism in every way inside and outside it's borders. Inside of the communist bloc and even in the African communist nations there was racial and ethnic tensions, segregation and even anhilation.

People need to critically think for themselves and not just follow the loudest mob. Education, journalism, government, business, and criminal justice need to be retooled to focus on truth, justice, and liberty. We just need one set of simple and fair rules that everyone must follow. Democracy can't work if the participants manipulate the system to suit their whims. One country, One Constitution, One set of fair rules for all.

Objectivists might as well be postmodernists because they promote much of the elites' ideology of atheism, sexual freedom, women's education and careers, open borders, anti-natalism, anti-familism, race mixing and letting billionaires do pretty much whatever they want. They just differ from the elites' world view on some economic matters where the powerful don't feel particularly vulnerable. And, frankly, Objectivists sound like mostly harmless kooks when they go around attacking abstractions like altruism and long-dead philosophers like Immanuel Kant, who died in 1804. That's why you True Believers aren't in danger of being canceled, deplatormed from the internet, deprived of financial services, censored, doxxed, fired from your jobs for your beliefs or railroaded for crimes you didn't commit.

As someone who has legit only spent two hours learning about post modernism and purposely did so before hopping back to criticism I completely agree and the fact so many people agree is weird and low-key exactly what these meta narratives seem to be talking about lol you have a group of people criticizing sometimes that not only they know nothing about but something they only know about through outside influences who have formed their only info on subject and made them form arguments basically out of thin air that say nothing and now here we are with a video that reached probably at least 10000 different people around world sounds pretty intellectual completely wrong and may in consequence cause someone else to make even a longer video hell in times of self publishing may even have entire authors write above it. I think maybe Peterson judges postmodern philosophers and not the idea I guess but legit only attacks it the whole thing is strange coming from a former and still somewhat supporter of Peterson and very thankful for him speaking on jung and opening up that world to me but it's crazy that someone with such a reach is so wrong it's very confusing honestly and once again I legit have only been looking into this for two hours and only read portions of original guys book on it
