It’s sad, My sister, 4 nieces and I all used DevaCurl. I think they had some kind of manufacturing accident where some kind of chemical was leaked or accidentally mixed into their products? I know it DEFINITELY not consumer error. Honestly, as many brands of shampoo as I tried, in my search for something that would clean my hair without stripping it, have good ingredients, not matt or tangle my hair, NOT contain ingredients I’m allergic or scalp sensitive to and NOT leave a doggone residue. Plus now’s a great time to support smaller businesses. I say why not support the smaller, natural hair brands, that cater to our needs? Buy direct from them? We already have to be so careful about what we put in our hair, and yet DevaCurl didn’t even step up and take responsibility to make sure their consumers KNOW what happened. It took what.....black twitter and social media to crack that story? I’ll never trust them with my well being again.

Girl, I wash my hair every 4 days too. My scalp just wasn't built for once a week or couple of week washes. Some girls don't even wash their hair for a month. If it works for them, it works for them. But my scalp is irritated just thinking about it.
Remy Mafia I feel you all the way, for me it’s not even my scalp but more so my hair. It just starts to get dry & tangled 😩 But exactly, to each their own! What works for me may not & doesn’t have to work for the next person, vice versa!

Caramel Coils my usual leave ins are Mielle’s Pomegranate and honey, or AS I AM leave in. Then I go in with either Argan oil eco or curling soufflé from Mielle, then I top it with oil. I’m thinking to put the oil before the gel this time and use more water

You’re hair came out gorgeous! Please try Design Essentials oak protein and henna shampoo, it’s works sooo good for Type 3/4 hair. You’re hair will start to look it’s healthiest after a month although you’re hair is already healthy, but that’s just another hair product that will work fa sure.
How long did it take you to go fully natural? Currently transitioning since March and whew! it's quite a challenge.. I've tried cutting off like 6 inches of my relaxed hair and I was like.. ok that's enough lol! Nevertheless, I'm excited to be fully natural. Keep sharing your great tips!

aida I primarily just wear wash & gos, I protective style maybe a couple times out of the year. You shouldn’t be scared to wear your hair out boo, as long as you’re maintaining it properly you shouldn’t have an issue! So wash & deep condition at least once a week, keep your ends trimmed, avoid styles that require lots of manipulation, etc. I plan on making a video in the near future about all of that & more, so stay tuned ❤️
dont be scared! rock those curls sis, let them be free!!! like she said as long as you are taking care of your hair you are fine. you might have to remoisturize more often but just make sure you are caring for your hair

Caramel Coils Wash n gos don’t last long enough for the amount of time it takes me to style it. And I have to stretch my hair daily for my desired look. I should probably be remoisturizing as often as you mentioned in the video- I think you shampooed Day 4 hair?! 🤭 I normally wear twist outs, because they’re so easy and I make them last wayyyy longer than I should.
@@JoifullyNatural this is a late comment but have you tried using a strong hold gel like eco styler or wetline extreme? I'll suggest using it with just leave in so you get the hold. That usually works for me and lasts long. But if twist outs work better for you, then just keep doing that

Pearl As far as the dryer, as it’s indirect heat I don’t really think it’s necessary. With stretching, I don’t but I also I haven’t had any issues as of yet. I’ll be sure to update you if anything changes. But worst case scenario, you can always just let it air dry, I don’t always sit under the dryer. So glad I could help boo, it’s my pleasure 🥰💕
@@CaramelCoils as a natural with 4c hair, I have found in order to get crazy defined hair is to have hair completely saturated with water and product, bend over and shake your head side to side like a dog would shake its body when it is wet. It really helps separate the curls.
I feel like my hair shrinks everyyyy time as soon as I put any product in it. Even when I use hot water sometimes (that’s the only thing that doesn’t cause my hair to super shrink) but that elongating cream looks like the truth imma have to try that.

I have the same curl pattern and hair density as you. Im normal porosity though. I hate doing wash and gos because i feel like i have too much hair for it 🤦🏽♀️ plus my hair is growing in uneven because i had a taper a year and a half ago

I’ve been using them consistently since about October, I luckily haven’t had any issues (thank God) but I believe the products that are in question are the “no poo” & products from the original line which I don’t use.

Hiii thank you sooo much your video has taught me a lot about what to do with my low porosity hair I just wanted to know before you went under the dryer did you use a heat protectant spray/oil and when you stretched ur hair did u use one ? Just wanted to know I have always wanted to be doing was and go’s more regularly but I’m scared to get heat damage
Pearl As far as the dryer, as it’s indirect heat I don’t really think it’s necessary. With stretching, I don’t but I also I haven’t had any issues as of yet. I’ll be sure to update you if anything changes. But worst case scenario, you can always just let it air dry, I don’t always sit under the dryer. So glad I could help boo, it’s my pleasure 🥰💕

@@CaramelCoils as a natural with 4c hair, I have found in order to get crazy defined hair is to have hair completely saturated with water and product, bend over and shake your head side to side like a dog would shake its body when it is wet. It really helps separate the curls.

I feel like my hair shrinks everyyyy time as soon as I put any product in it. Even when I use hot water sometimes (that’s the only thing that doesn’t cause my hair to super shrink) but that elongating cream looks like the truth imma have to try that.

How long do those products last you? Cuz girl the way my hair is set up....we might have the same hair type but my hair is actually monstrous. I'm trying to budget and see if I should just pay someone to do this for me, if i'm gong to be going through these products like lightening fast. One of the reasons i kinda gave up and just keep putting my hair in a low bun is because I have bought soooo many products-->I've been disappointed--->My hair eats products. (so glad I discovered you today, idek how I ended up on your video HAHA I was watching makeup reviews)

I have the same curl pattern and hair density as you. Im normal porosity though. I hate doing wash and gos because i feel like i have too much hair for it 🤦🏽♀️ plus my hair is growing in uneven because i had a taper a year and a half ago

Caramel Coils i usually do buns 🤷🏽♀️ being in college, its so convenient. I do twistouts sometimes but im trying to get out of doing buns only so much so i can prevent breakage 😩

cai_lyfe thank youu 💘💘 my wash & gos last me a good 4/5 days, I could definitely rock it in a puff after the 4/5 days but my hair starts to get dry making wash day more a chore whenever I do decide to wash it. & it takes me about 45 minutes under the dryer!

I see u use a lot of devacurl products. It's been said that their products cause hair loss from long term use. How long have u been using them? Have u had any issues?
I’ve been using them consistently since about October, I luckily haven’t had any issues (thank God) but I believe the products that are in question are the “no poo” & products from the original line which I don’t use.

My daughter has type 4c hair. How closely should we follow what you do? Can we expect the same results or should we be looking at videos of someone with 4c hair?
Kevin Smith Wow love to see you taking the time to learn her hair! But I’d definitely recommend also looking at videos with someone that has 4C hair. Completely different results! Also it’s almost as important, if not equally as important to learn her porosity & density! This could really help filter your search 😊 Good luck to you guys!
I’d say look for videos with the same porosity, density, strand thickness as your daughter, hair type is not so much important though I would remain in the type 4 range
I literally cannot tell if we have the same hair type and im lazy or if both our hair types are just so mixed - or even worse both lol
