  • Greenline Yachts are best known for offering Hybrid and Electric propulsion in order to make these offerings viable, it is imperative that the hull is efficient. As such, even with a diesel engine, Greenline provides a highly efficient solution, reducing fuel consumption.
In this video, Joe tests the Greenline 45 at various speeds and details the fuel consumption.
Greenline 45 propulsion options are explained in our in-depth walkthrough here... • Greenline 45 In-depth ...

No se verdaderamente, si mi comentario es leído, pero me queda la inconformidad de haber disfrutado a través de este viaje virtual.

Great to see some consumption figures, with the electric motors fitted to the diesel engines i.e.hybrid, do the diesels consume any more as they are turning the electric motors in generation mode?

I heard the diesels engines have different modes while charging the battery banks. There’s a mode that the diesels spins the propellers while travelling and charging the batt and when power levels are low and the boat is stationary, the diesels or back up generators, depending on your custom setup, will automatically kick in, or you can manually turn on the generator yourself to charge it. Other TH-cam videos says, you save 30% on fuel having the hybrid setup. Seems a bit low, but this is first generation technology on yachts. Other TH-camrs say you can run diesel for 2 hours, to fully charge the batteries, turn off diesel run on electric power for 2 hours and back and forth, which to me sounds like you can double your distance range, which sounds like 1000nm range on just 1 full tank of diesel would become 2000 nm with hybrid.

@@DragonHunter-oq3zi Doubling your range would only work if you travelled at 5 knots when running the diesels, if you ran the diesels for 2 hours at say 20 knots and then electric for 2 hours (5 knots recommended) then you would only get 25% more range.

@keithhughes2104 is putting a wind turbine generator on a full electric greenline or hybrid a good idea or asking for trouble?
