Hi Anthony, that's great mate! Awesome that you got into a few 👌 Thanks for the kind words mate, I really appreciate it 👍 and I'm glad that you got some useful info out of my videos.
Hi Damo, dat is one good size cray ! I fish Rockingham area, do fish near my area? Tip - don't throw old bait in the water where you are fishing. If bronzy are around don't release under size crays they will not get to the sea bed. 2 ways to do this - keep old bait dump out half way going back in or keep crays in a tub of water move away from tax man over the reef then release. I have experienced this. Thanks for the always great video mate. PS next pull 2 jumbo's.
Hi Steve, good tips there mate, cheers 👍 I don't often fish down your way, I'm North between Mindarie and 2 rocks mostly. Thanks for watching mate and appreciate the kind words 👍 Here's hoping on those Jumbos 🤞
You know you probably need twice the ballast in that milk crate to stop it rocking on the bottom, crays won't walk on anything moving especially plastic .
Hi James, it has 12kg of ballast in this pot but in coming episodes, I swap it out for the one that I made in the video. That one has more like 15kg in it! I even filmed it under water to see if it was moving and it looked stable as a rock. You are absolutely right though, any movement = 0 crays.
Good video, but jumbo crays are not the best to eat . They are the top breeders and assist smaller crays out to the breeding grounds ,we throw them back.
Hi @ianmacleod1861, thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate it! I do have to say, it tasted pretty good to me, and it was a male so not really a top breeder. Very nteresting point that you raise about assisting the smaller ones out deep, not something I've heard of before! Cheers 👍
Nice one mate. Finally gor my first ones , hard work and was sloppy out. Thanks for the effort you put in updatig us through these videos!
