Just imagine your first seconds in heaven, scanning thousands of faces you have never seen before, looking for THAT ONE face you have never seen before. We don't know what Jesus looks like. Scanning, looking for some tell-tale sign to identify which one is Jesus. Then you see the nail prints... And you know... THAT'S HIM!
I have heard a story about a man in London in the nineteenth century who claimed that he was the returned Jesus. One day he was preaching to a large crowd when a Salvation Army band and choir struck up this hymn. When they got to "the prints of the nails in his hands,. Someone in the choir pointed at this man claiming to be Jesus and said "Where are the nail prints"???
Fanny Crosby often talked about what she will SEE in heaven, as we know, she was blind on earth. This is one of my favorite hymns, but we won't need to see those nail prints, we will know Him!
