【ソウル地下鉄”SOUL SUBWAY”】
かなり以前になるが、渡辺香津美が今は亡きドラマーの村上”ポンタ”秀一と、ベーシストのグレッグリーとモボと云うギタートリオをやっていたことがある。
そして”WINDS OF ASIA PROJECT”で、僕はグレッグリーともやっていたことがあるが、グレッグリーは”THE SUPER 3”のドラマー 平山サンペイ惠勇とも親しく、この２人は竹中俊二らも加わり、東京を中心によく一緒に演奏活動を行なっている！。
この動画は途中レゲエ調になったり、サンバ的になったりもするが、この２人がカップリングのライブに、僕が飛び入りでセッション参加した時の動画だ！。したがって打ち合せなんか殆どなく、勿論ぶっつけ本番！！。😆
この演奏は、ソウル地下鉄”SOUL SUBWAY”だが、一応僕がコンポーザーとして、ソーバッドレビューのアルバムではクレジットされてはいるが、実は正確に言うと、テンポとキーは僕が決めたが、地下鉄が出発する時のイメージでイントロのギターカッティングを演奏してくれ！って僕が山岸潤史に感じを伝え、続くメロディのリプは石田長生の思い付いたアイデアで決まり、ブリッジ部分と全体の構成、そしてサウンドプロデュースを僕がやったと云うニュアンスのほうが、実際には近いかも知れない。
さて1975’sにL.Aでレコーディングしたソーバッドレビューの1st アルバムに収めたこのソウル地下鉄…
実はソーバッドレビューの曲の中ではダントツTH-camの再生回数やイイネ数が数多く、最も人気が高い曲となっている❣️。^ - ^

【 SOUL SUBWAY 】
A long time ago, Katsumi Watanabe played in a guitar trio called "Mobo" with the late drummer Shuichi "Ponta" Murakami and bassist Gregg Lee.
Gregory is also a close friend of Sanpei Hirayama, the drummer of “THE SUPER 3,” and these two, along with Shunji Takenaka and others, often play together in Tokyo and other cities.
This video has some reggae and some samba-like moments, but it is a video of me jumping in and joining a session at a live performance of the two drummers as a coupling. So there was almost no meeting and of course it was done on the spot! 😆 😆 😆
I am credited as the composer of the song "SOUL SUBWAY" on the So Bad Review album, but to be precise, I decided the tempo and the key of the song, but I played the intro guitar cut to the image of a subway train leaving the city. I asked Junji Yamagishi to play the intro guitar cut! The melody ripping that followed was based on an idea Nagao Ishida came up with, and the bridge part, overall composition, and sound production were done by me.
This soul subway tune was recorded in L.A. in 1975's for Sooo Baad Revue's first album.
In fact, it is the most popular “Sooo Baad Revue” tune by far, with the largest number of views and likes on TH-cam. ❣️ ^ - ^
