The first time I played LoD, I had already cleared Final Fantasy 7, so I was familiar with the whole "first boss theme is a fakeout and the real boss theme comes later" thing. So I was waiting patiently for it. And when it came? I could absolutely not have been more pleased. Absolute bangers like this are what make JRPGs so great. It's something I feel has been lost in the march of time.
My dad was never big on gaming. I mean sure he had a sega genesis and shit, but that was mostly for my older brothers. But when I let him borrow Legend of Dragoon, not only did he beat it before i did, he still thinks it’s the greatest game ever made to this day lol. Granted, he hasn’t played a lot of games, I just find that cool as hell for him 😂
my dad wanted the t.v. back, but I was in the final boss fight he said it's ok I can wait it seens it's going one hell of a fight he watch me enjoy the ending love the cut scenes (even the bad voice acting)

I even made sure to get the non greatest hits version, since the original had colored discs. This game is such a huge part of my childhood. I spent the better part of a decade off and on working to beat this game. Getting stuck, giving up (like kids do) and coming back, starting over, and making it a little farther each time. I just felt like reminiscing, no need to take this big blurb too seriously :)
Exactly. I had the exact original copy of it as well. No greatest hits. But even with the pretty bad voice acting, it is still one of the most memorable RPG game I have ever played. Of course, everybody wants a remake of this game. Lol

Gameplay wise is pretty good, but the story and characters are cringe worthy as fuck. A true pity because it had everything to tell a compelling story).
Sextus70 I liked The legend of dragoon as well as I liked final fantasy saga (especially FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9), Xenogears, and i liked persona 5 as well as the 3 and 4. I don't know if you ended the game or you just dropped it, but trust me, persona 5 has a great story, with some genious gimmick during the storytelling. It has a classic anime style, characters too, and for me is just fine. I suggest you suikoden 2, chrono trigger, chrono cross, and.... XENOGEARS!!
+Red Wine I actually ended Persona 5 some months ago. I would lie if I say I didn't enjoy a bit of it. Overall it is a good game (the art, music and gameplay are fantastic, no contest), but the story and many characters interactions just felt way too off, cheesy and artificial for me, especially compared with those of Persona 3 and 4, which I actually enjoyed more in that aspect despite some things that could've been better. I think I might have appreciated it more if it wasn't for that incredibly lame and unsubtle "evil adults" recurrent motif that constantly ruined what could've been meaningful and epic moments. Nevertheless, to each their own. If you found it great, I don't mind, I just don't believe it is compared to those of other JRPGs I've played.

It was involuntary on Shana's part, what with the effect that the Moon That Never Sets was having on her (with her being the Moon Child), along with the damage even being done by the Divine Dragon on the Crystal Palace at Leningrad, which might have affected Shana in some way as well, since Shana had to stay there. So, Miranda takes over for Shana during the rest of the game, not too much unlike how Albert fills in for Lavitz after Lavitz's death.
I hated they killed Lavitz, Albert really got you on your toes for his attacks because they were so much faster than Lavitz if you had Alberts additions down then you could do everyones additions
The one thing I did like about this game is that every battle theme, both normal and boss battle them is that they each had their own victory theme to go with it, which isnt something many games tend to do, instead just using the same theme for every battle regardless of song, not that there's anything wrong with that...just thought Legend of Dragoon was a little unique in that sense with its music
@@n64central True, that boss is challenging the first time you fight him, especially because transforming into your dragoon form is basically certain death. Though the subsequent times he is cake
Honestly the only time I ever had a problem against that boss was the first time I played through, the super virage gave me more problems mostly because it gave a last second shot after dying
I never had a problem with the grand jewel unless I had no magic or health items (first playthrough), I think the divine dragon spirit in Mayfield is the second hardest boss he can spam the cannon and ball attacks and I've never had the patience to exp farm I think the highest level I ever got dart to was like 63 and that was fighting by himself in the dragon area to get all 2000 exp from the triceratops thing

Kongol battle 2 get his HP down to red and use a Wind multi attack and hopefully blow his HP to zero. (Make it count as you get only one magic attack before he calls a magic barrier)

When you first hear this theme you know that you aren't fighting low level mini bosses, it's the real fucking deal this time around.

Until Grand Jewel and Lenus show up with the first theme and flip your reality on its head.

Why of all the characters they chose to kill Lavitz- the most likable one?? I could have done without Hashel, Shana, Miranda, Albert, Meru, but Lavitz?? the greatest loss I suffered in my video games experience.
