This is the deepest high-quality LB group since the late 2000's for sure, great comp Chris. Elandon Roberts is like a glue for the ILB's after taking a leadership role in 23 and performing at a high level. Roberts plays a cerebral style of Buck LB and should compliment PQ well. PQ was the perfect FA addition and money well spent. Watt's the best in the world at OLB and Highsmith cracks the top10 best list. Herbig and Wilson off the bench makes this one of the deepest and exciting LB groups ever.
Hey Chris, great show! As a Steelers fan for over fifty plus years, the LB unit was always they key for us. Yes, we had a great D line of Green and company, the D line take care of the O line, and this allows the LB core to make plays. This is the genesis of the 3/4 defense. But they also had a very good secondary as well. When you think about it. It all boils down to each part of the defense executing their roles. The NFL changed for more scoring, etc. and we find ourselves trying to find LB's who can not only tackle once the plays go beyond the D line, but they also must cover. It is wonderful to recall what the team was at one time. But when you can pattern your players to not only execute what the NFL calls for today and mesh them into what the team used to be, would go a long way to being not just what the team was, but being what the team needs to be in today's NFL landscape.
💯 agree with you on the LBs having a chance of developing something special for this defense. They were on their way last yr once Holcomb, Roberts and Alexander were starting to gel together until the injury bug hit them and we all know the rest but yhea this defense as a whole has the potential not only with these LBs but also with an improved secondary to finish atleast top 5 defense in the NFL.
Start of season we need to utilize this great depth with a lot of rotation to get them exp and ha starters fresh and healthy for our brutual second half of season need to rotate more then ever Jimmy Johnson did that with 90, s cowboys and players were healthy and fresh to finish games off towards end of season and playoffs if Jerry jones hadn’t fired JJ he may of won 4 SBS in a row

I was thinking this right after the draft when we picked Payton Wilson. This is the best unit we have had since Green, Kirkland, Lloyd, and Brown.
Amen Capt Kirk was my Dawg!!
I agree I was thinking the same
Ture
Farrier.Timmons disrespect real…woodley and deebo
Got play some games before you can say that bruh!!!
Payton Wilson is a stud. His film is sick. AFC Rookie of the year. LB corps with TJ could be the best in the NFL

Happy Juneteenth Chris
That's right Juneteenth 🎉
Yes, they will have a very good group of 6 with the top 3 OLB's and the top 3 ILB's
Awesome show. We need a solid ILB team to have a great defense.

I think Payton Wilson looks a little like a strong safety
Yea…a 6’4 240lb safety…
I think Robert can play the outside linebacker position too
No, he can't. 😂
@@TheFactsMob😂 where do they come up with this madness…
And we all know how big of a problem the steelers have had at ILB lately
