I heard her sing this in recital in the same timeframe. It was enrapturing. The entire audience held its breath-not a cough or candy wrapper to be heard. I will never forget it.

Oh, to have been at this recital! Such magnificent singing, so musical and powerful yet delicate.

Marly Harris Yes, I was in LA when she performed this program at Royce Hall. Her voice in person was like an endless stream of silver in that hall. You could hear a pin drop. I have never experienced an audience so completely quiet and enrapt. Total and utter rapture she was in the 1980s.

Bravissima! You don't hear this kind of voice and performance anymore. It is just perfect - both vocals and piano playing.

Simply sublime..there was one other occassion where she sang so magnificently and that was in Carneghie Hall in 1985. If anyone has this to upload it would be fantastic. Kirissima!!!

@@ian1856 To treat me a dilettante is lack of respect and knowledge. Do you understand french? Du you know french composers? Do you know something about Liszt and his work? Do you know that the interpretation of a song, to be able to tell somebody a thing or two about the story is a question of taste, of culture? The interpretation of a song is quite different to an aria of an opera. This is what I miss. I would say the same thing about some interpretations of Cecilia Bartoli. It's my opinion and I am not the only one.

@@ian1856 Our daughter is a professional soprano singer, which we are happy to follow in her career. She is performing specially in the song discipline and her interpretation of „Oh, quand je does“ I like much better, and you understand the words!
