I bonked hard this race too. Once I felt my arms start to fatigue on one of those gravel roads I knew I was in serious trouble. The climb the labeled "Newbie Crusher" did me in. I think I have some serious work to do with food, before and during the race.
Newbie crusher is such a good name. I did a redemption ride yesterday and ate and drank more than usual on the bike. Felt great. Now I need to remember to do that during a race. Easier said than done for sure.
@@peterjrudge Yup, that'll do it, I went on a 52 mile ride a couple of months ago and managed to leave all my snacks at home... Bonked like a MOTHER about 2 hours in, kinda felt like Dementors sucked my soul out (Harry Potter reference)

Rice racing against ya! This one was hard
Wet roots are my sworn mortal enemy; I hate them, they hate me right back, I had some try and crash me on my morning ride this morning.
Beautiful nature! Cool race!
P.S. was the bonk because you didn't have enough breakfast, or because you didn't fuel enough during the race? Or some other reason?
It was not fueling during the race
