Hi Brodie (congrats on the your Sharks gig) -- I responded on this topic on B/R: I can foresee SJS playing outdoors _at VAN_ as a picturesque 2nd homecoming for Macklin [prob in >2027]
The NHL should have an established West classic. Have it rotate between SEA, Vegas, Utah, LA, and SJS. ATT Park in 2026, Dodgers stadium in 2027 (Pre-Olympics buzz), Vegas A's new stadium [ or Raiders stadium] in 2028.
Going to Squaw Valley would be interesting but a logistic nightmare ... Oracle Park would be iconic for the team. Send the Ducks since the Kings played them at Levi Staduim ... perhaps the Stadium Series should rotate through the division to build up rivalries.

Canucks fan here, from Santa Clara (don't hate me), and I have always hated the outdoor games. Love the concept, hate that I have to watch the Blackhawks or Bruins every season. Canadian market teams had the "Heritage Classic", which the Canucks played in once, albeit under a closed roof at BC Place in 2014, but they haven't had another opportunity since. So I think there needs to be a standard rotation of every team in the league and the NHL needs to find a way to make it more enjoyable for every fanbase. But, if the Sharks and Canucks play at Oracle, I will be there!
PayPal Park is the Sharks' best choice for an outdoor stadium. It is located next to the San Jose Mineta International Airport and is safer than the Oakland Coliseum or SF Oracle Park (Crimes). Also, since the Sharks are rebuilding, they will not draw 30k+ fans. So, an 18k stadium is the best choice, and close to its San Jose fan base.
I'm not a fan for PayPal Park because of how much it sucks to get in and out of the stadium, it's a one mile walk from Santa Clara Transit Center (if using public transit) and while yes there is the #60 bus, the traffic is at a standstill. I really hate the placement of the stadium compared to SAP Center.

@@brodiebrazil Oh, I know... I just think they would be cool venues to try. The bloom is off the outdoor rose if they're already going back to a previous venue for a 2nd time, IMO.
Yes! The Vancouver Canucks have been sidelined from heritage/ outdoor games for a decade now!
Fellow Canucks fan in the Bay Area, I love this idea.
NHL only does 1) large or 2) significant venues for outdoors
coliseum?
It was so far away. Very not hockey feeling last time.
Sharks Stars at the Coliseum, Stars can wear their Oakland Seals jerseys
The fact none of the California teams played in the Tahoe games was an absolute joke!
