    Great video - thanks for making it! I just had to replace the broken plastic shield on the seat slide on a 2005 GMC and came across your video. I don’t have any e-sockets that I know of and kept reading the comments and read screwdriver kelly’s comment on not needing esocket and Rex using 7/16 deep socket for rear bolts and 15mm socket which I had. Worked like a charm. I just removed the bolts on the left side of the drivers seat, removed the broken plastic shield and installed the new one and retighten bolts. All new again. Thank you Michael!!!

    • @thehoodscoop1969
      @thehoodscoop1969  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First rule out if its the switch on the side or if the motor is truly out. If the switch is out you can "hot wire" a couple wire leads. easiest way is to find a wrecked truck and cut the plug from under it's seat and then use a jumper box to get power to that plug end and plug it into the plug under your seat to get power to the seat motor. it should then start moving.

      You'll have to look at the trailblazer seat tracks but I'm 90% sure the answer it no as the mounting brackets will not be the same due to the floor designs on both. You can swap any 99-06 GM full size truck/SUV though

I think it was a bitch. Also used drill brush and accessory tool from carpet cleaner to do the seats and carpet. Turned out good. Also mounted seats on small pallette which was on an old office chair with back removed. Made cleaning so much easier on the seats,same seats as this young man's seats in the video.

    • @thehoodscoop1969
      @thehoodscoop1969  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, these can rust pretty bad. You'll need to get a penetrating spray like PB Blaster as WD 40 is a lubricant and won't work. Also make sure you are using a large breaker bar 2ft+ for leverage to break them loose like I used in the video. Hope this helps!

    • @gabrielfalan7538
      @gabrielfalan7538 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      PB Blaster put a breaker bar on it and smack the breaker bar with a hammer then work back and forth adding pb blaster it'll come out

    • @kevinedwards7206
      @kevinedwards7206 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      P.b. blaster.. Autozone or bimart..penetrating oil works its way into the hidden threads.
      Wd40 wont do that..it is too thick and leaves sticky behind.
      Never use it on locks!

      4 18mm bolts at each leg then just lift up to remove it from the cab wall.

    How do u fold the backrest of the back seat

    • @thehoodscoop1969
      @thehoodscoop1969  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      on an extended cab you pull the two black pulls tabs, flip the seat bottom up. Ext cab seat back doesn't fold forward, only crew cab and suburban/tahoe.

      @AdrianGonzalez-ew8gu 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheHoodScoop I folded the seats up but i want to fold the backrest down

      Im guessing u dont know how either?

    • @thehoodscoop1969
      @thehoodscoop1969  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ext cab seat backs on a 88-06 chevy full size don't fold down, the seat bottom is the only piece the moves and it only folds up. The seat back is physically clipped to the rear cab wall.

    Thank you for the great info, I have a 2004 Tahoe LT (with power driver seat, manual passenger seat, no airbags in seats). You’ve made it much easier for me to remove them.
    Getting ready to power wash my carpets this spring! God bless

    I just did it on my 99 Silverado with my trusty Craftsman little ole 3/8 drive ratchet and I think it was 11mm on front nuts and 15mm on back bolts. Both sockets we're deep well and only 6 points lol! They broke right loose except one outer back bolts I had to get on it...but I was only using a little bitty ole ratchet because I had nothing to go with my half...that 3/8 handle is only what 6" long or so lol...I thought I was going to have to get me some pipe for leverage on that last one, and than I was thinking if I had to do that I may have stripped head on bolt....but than it broke free. Mine were in great shape. I noticed this before I even started! No rust anywhere and they all 4 looked factory new in those areas...that's when I said, I bet if I can get something on these I can breakem loose without getting something at store ;)

    Awesome! Thank you for sharing especially about the right tools and correct size. I am trying to resolve my water in-flowing into my cab problem. I already removed the third brake light and did my best to remove and remake a gasket; however, I also need to replace the pressure vents. If interested, please visit my channel - UC6F19-bd_3GGCrEgfV6hqng - and look at the playlist titled My GMC Sierra Humidity or Water Leak offer guidance. Thank you very much

      I have a Craftsman Socket Wrench set which has both standard (SAE) and metric sizes. I was wondering isn't the E20 a reference to size 20 mm socket? My set has a E18 and it is 18 mm- I have to double and triple check my observation: I tested the E18 on the anchor-bolts holding my back seat and I think this size may be the correct size for the backseat anchor bolts.

    Good video. But you can use regular sockets. A 7/16 for the bolts and a deep 15 for the nuts.
