  • Sky News contributor Joe Hildebrand has reacted to the Coalition’s proposed super for housing policy.
“I think ripping into your super is absolutely insane,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“I think that the biggest problem is simply capitalism, it’s supply and demand - there is too much demand, not enough supply.”

The average life expectancy in my family is 60 years so statistically I won't even need super.

By the time these youngsters can access super, they will only have a few years to enjoy it. Let them use it now. A lot who, when they reached the preservation period, took it all, blew it on homes, travel cars and now get the old age pension. Give it to them no issues on that positive policy. Well done Dutton.

Releasing money from super will only feed the housing price bubble. Bad idea.

This lot wants it for when your working life has finished
People need to decide why it exists ..

Our housing market is completely absurd.

The real solution is popping the real estate market bubble but given that every politician, senior bureaucrat, the majority of Australian voters and every political donor is a property investor...there is zero appetite for this solution

Plus the almighty scare campaign of the Libs over negative gearing.

Who's super is it & @ the moment it's the only good aspect the government ever possibly has is to allow those who choose to use their own super b4 future govts turn their avaricious gaze upon it.

Super is YOUR RETIREMENT fund, it's not for anything else. I urge you to salary sacrifice into it, I did for 20 years.

If Albo is moving to the centre then as a centrist I must have fallen off the tip of the right wing ages ago.
