@@LiefTheDroid haha

@@Juicyy4386 nice pfp
Bro that guitar is gorgeous
That’s what I was thinkin
Fr the finish on that thing is tremendous
I know, right? Is it an Ibanez?
@@zachkelly1847 should be an Ibanez RG5320C
Agreed
I'm watching this knowing damn well I own an acoustic 💀
Samesies. And wishing it was an electric
Dude Im beginner using anacoustic but im still gonna try the Trill.... :D
😭
one day... ONE DAY
I was going to say me too but then realised that I don't have a guitar, but oftenly borrowed an acoustic from my neighbour in exchange for some music lessons 😭. And now I'm almost out of lessons to teach him and his brother 😂
That harmonic trick was brought to the world by Mr. Eddie Van Halen.
Pretty sure all of these were used by Eddie
Or at least something like it
Felt like an Eddie tutorial.
Eddieeeeeee still lives
Jimmy page did it
@@dangerfieldknives3575with all due respect I love Jimmy but he did it sloppily Eddie perfected it
Anyone catch “Two Minutes To Midnight” in there? 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Came here to make sure I heard right

finally some REAL " tricks " not like some videos where the trick is " oh power chords " or " oh palm muting "
ikr
@@aliensphyncter9528yeah I watch that guy too and that's crazy
@@aliensphyncter9528is that shred? He has a 5 dollar a month one too I’m pretty sure.
Those could be new tricks to a novice. Don't hate because someone is at different point in their journey.
🤣🤣
I'm 28 and I've been playing guitar since I was 11. I have never once even considered bending trills. That is genius and I applaud you
He didn’t consider or come up with it either. He’s just showing a skill he’s learned, not invented.
@@tb2324 obviously he didn't invent it, I just never thought to do it myself and I was applauding him for teaching me something. I don't know everything and it's nice to learn new things
I’m 17 and I’ve been playing guitar since 2 weeks ago. I don’t know why I’m here. I don’t even know what a trill is, and can’t play at that speed yet. Still a great video.
@@tb2324
You’re fun at parties I’m sure.
That you used an Iron Maiden riff as your example tells me that metal is alive and well and that you have recognized the magical trilling abilities of Dave Murray. Thank you for making my day.
the pick scrape specifically was really good because i’ve never put my hand in front of the pick while doing it and just went right into it and always thought i just needed to be faster at moving my hands, so this was super helpful thank you!
Dude ikr me too
Yeah I never knew you had to trail your hand with the scrape and always wondered why i could never get a pick scrape sound
Two minutes to midnight 🤘 one of my favorite maiden songs
TWO, chaka chaka chaka MINUTES, chaka chaka to MIIIIDNIGHT
This first trick was used a lot by Randy Rhoads and made all the songs sound awesome
So that's what Randy was doing in the Crazy Train solo! I just used a whammy dive for that part
Yeah I was gonna say it sounds like the tapping part of crazy train
It actually isn't what Randy does, and it isn't the whammy bar either. I just checked some live footage and his pick hand never moves past the pickups when it isnt tapping at the start. It's around 2:20 seconds into the song if you want to see for yourself. Annoyingly, the best up-close version cuts to the bass until the bending trill part is finished. I'll see if I can link the video and give timestamps.
Randy just had some crazy strong fingers.
th-cam.com/video/EISy_qeJ38c/w-d-xo.html. 03:26 is a few seconds before the solo.
Randy would also bend the neck with his fret hand sometimes or push the headstock back with his pick hand
Well he had a floating tremolo so he just had to bend his whammy backwards and its also what he used in the Over the Mountain solo
The way I do it is by bending up the fretted note with my ring finger and just use my pick to tap really fast. Sounds exactly right.
Eddie Van Halen is one your influences isn't he? Love the vid man, always wanted to do that descending run with the thumb graze.
the second trick is very Eddie
Yup
Rory gallagher pulls of some of those tricks aswell
@@fhfhtrgw459 Eddie did the 2nd trick a lot --- most notably in his legendary solo from the "Live Without a Net" concert video
"Somebody Get Me Doctor!" Oh Yeah!
props to this guy for doing all of that in one take
That pick scrape is how I started like 90% of songs when I played live 😂😂
As an 80s guy..this is 100 on point!! Thanks for the vid bro!!!
“HONEYYYYYY …. Where’s my multicolor spandex ?”
It‘s AWESOME that you ripped into Two Minutes to Midnight right there, my favorite guitar riff of all time! I don‘t hear that very much nowadays, everybody just wants to tune as low as possible. Thank you for the 80s guitar tricks! ROCK ON!!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The 1st guitar trick was from The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin.
I thought it was Train Kept A Rollin'
I much appreciate the Zakk Wilde slide. I didn't know how it was done.
Evh started that
2 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT!!
I've been playing for 25 years and these were all new to me. Awesome.
I appreciate how concise and helpful this was 😭 thank you so much !!
Wow, bent thrills has always been my favorite technique, I just didn't know that was how it worked. Thanks for that!
I thought they were with whammy bar. I feel like my entire life has been a lie.
i didn't know chris martin is this good at guitar!
I was looking for a comment about that. He really does look like him!
Ha 😺😃👍👉👌🤟that was good man,true
Bro, I’m glad someone finally open the door to some of these tricks that are so simple and nobody wants to explain them. Thank you appreciate it.
now 2 minutes to midnight is stuck in my head
love the 2 minutes to midnight
Whoa the 80s called. They want you to return all their sounds.
Eddie is calling from the grave
That opening riff for two minutes to midnight always gets me going
Love that harmonic pull off trick! Sounds soo cool almost like glass
How to be an 80's guitarist 101 lol 😂
There’s got to be a lesson on what drugs to take in that class.
@@raymondkitchen6137thisss 🤣🤣🤣
@@raymondkitchen6137 99% of all drugs taken in the 80's was coke!
You eventually worked out that it's heroin, right? @@raymondkitchen6137

@@Koffieleuter thanks 👍
Simple sweet and straight to the point.Just how I like it.Great video and cool tricks
Excellent tips and I appreciate the clean examples and explanation! Trick number two is new to me but I'm definitely gonna give it a whirl!
The first two Eddie invented ) did he ?
Sounded just like a part of train kept rolling by Aerosmith to me that
YOOOO that's was the sound I was lookingf for!!! The legato with the harmonics, THSNK YOU MATE
Very cool 'short' vid, thanks for sharing it. Rock on!
Been playing 20+ years thought I was gonna roll my eyes at these.. The second one I have never seen or heard of.. That’ll get a sub and like sir
I’ve been playing about 24 years now. Still learning something new all the time. I love the guitar
Love how you did the Lemon Song trill at the beginning
Oh man that looks so good lemme try this out- *breaks guitar in half*
That first one ...I pulled that off "tapping" really fun
1st one - Crazy Train Randy Rhoads
2nd one - Mick Mars used that a lot, especially on Dr Feelgood
3rd one - as you said, cool for introducing riffs
Mick Mars sucks 😂🤣🤣🤣😂
1st technique is how Richie Sambora plays part of the guitar solo in You Give Love A Bad Name
That 2 minutes to midnight riff is awesome the crazy train one also
I'm 68.. really appreciate your presentation..
I mean, he played Maiden. I'm sold.
That tele on the wall behind you is SPECTACULAR.
First guitar short video that is actually useful. Thanks for the tips.
Been playing 30 years, and I never seen the first two tricks! Thanks bud!
Yes! That first one is gold.
I can't comprehend any of that. Amazing .
Wow, awesome tips! Thanks! I like short and straightforward videos like these that teach you something useful you can actually put into practice!
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO DO THE HARMONIC TRICK FOR YEARS! THANK YOU!
Two Minutes to Midnight! It's on my desert island list, and more relevant today than ever.
that first trick is fricking amazing
I am teaching my self piano
But I also abso love to hear and watch. Rock guitar
Would love to hear a full and longer demo.
Straight outta the EVH handbook!🎸🤘
That first trill bend was straight out of mercyful fate haha!
Keep them coming brilliant
Desecration of souls! The first trill!
Bending a trill!!! I'm still shook that sounds awesome!!
Awesome vid! Appreciate 🙌💣💥💯🤘
that palm mute legatto thing is some serious Gus G action right there, how awesome
Awesome little lesson!
Whoa that trill trick is awesome man
Eddie Van Halen...incarnation...very impressive...and COOL
The second trick was insanely cool
You young guitar kids are full of surprises.
So, I use GHS Brite Flats; they’re flat wound that are, well, brighter than regular strings. I use them so you can’t hear those little squeaks when your fingers are moving around. I was in a band years ago that wanted me to do a pic scrape and you absolutely can’t. They wanted me to change strings; I said no. They kicked me out for that. 😂😂😂
Thank you from France : you're so good at teaching things on guitar, all looks so simple and easy!
Short an concise, this is what TH-cam shorts were made for, great vid
After playing guitar for 15 years, I never thought of using that first technique of bending the string behind where I’m doing pull offs. Genius.
That was really cool, I've never seen those done but always heard them and wondered how they make those sounds with their guitars, now I do, thank you
Sweet. That was short, but, wow, packed with 3 nice techniques. Love it!
Those are cool tricks...thanks for the demonstration 👍
This is great!! Thank you for sharing this
Ngl, when i started watching this i thought "here we go, another basic guitar video" but two were actually really interesting. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the cool tricks! Gonna practice those tomorrow
❤❤❤thanks 🙏 a lot for sharing these tips!😊😊😊
Those are actually 3 great and useful tips!!
This is the 1st vid I saw from you & I subbed😎
Since my business crashed hard ack in 2020/2021; I have been searching good content to share with my former students🙏
I've always wondered how to do the first two. Thanks!
Bro instant follow I’ve been practicing for a few months and didn’t know 2/3 of these
bro you rock! I loved the bending trills and that thumb trick
Eddie Haskell still looks young.... UNBELIEVABLE!!
This guy is straight to the point. Good video. Made it look too easy
I love the first one dude thank you so much...!!
The second was the opening lick to everythings gone by inflames 🙌
Best 60 second lesson yet!!

I love that Harmonic trick. I don’t know how that one slipped past my education!
Wow you are amazing 🎸
The first one is shout at the devil solo technique
