Worth to discover them in Sweden. Its giving an different collor or note in the Swedish Society especially in schools and academic developments wellness and health and safety in the society.
That's a really interesting topic! And a pretty sensitive one as well in Sweden these days. We have a lot of ethnic minorities, but it's hard to get a view into how the culture is for me because of (for example) language barriers - just like it's hard for them to get integrated into Swedish society. But it does sound like something to investigate further, so thank you for the idea!
Good video, the only thing I would object to is our public transport. I lived for 10 years without a car or bike in Gothenburg, its pretty excellent, just have to figure out the app.
Thank you! Yeah, I think I just had the worst luck with re-routed and closed off tram lines exactly when I was visiting. I don't remember it being that hard to get around earlier!

I grew up in Florida and moved to South Carolina for college and stayed here. I will look for more of your videos. By train, how long a trip is it from Gothenburg to Stockholm?
Hey thanks a lot :D Oh cool, it's always nice to hear when people have a connection with Sweden. Gothenburg is actually pretty close to Stockholm by train, just three hours with the high speed train. Driving would take 5-6 hours instead though.
@@a.a.dunham1941 I'd definitely say that that works! Might be a good idea to book the train in advance though, at www.sj.se - it can get expensive last minute.
I lived in Stockholm for many years and I've never been to Göteborg so far. I was planning to go visiting but every time I see a video of that city I feel like maybe I should move there. I do nog drink alcohol at all and I don't smoke and the majority of people in Stockholm don't smoke either, which I love. I'm also very clean and tidy and even in this case Stockholm and I get along. But when it's about fun Stockholm is the saddest city I've ever lived in. Göteborg looks more alive, is that it? Can I ask you what was your impression about the differences between Stockholm and Göteborg also for how clean the cities are compared to one another? Tack
Hmm.. Difficult question. I think Göteborg is a bit more relaxed and laid back, so maybe people appear to have more fun. And the city is also very focused around parks in central areas that people hang out in. It gives it a very lively feeling. But I'm not sure if there's actually more to do or more events. The cleanliness is probably very similar to Stockholm, but the areas I visited in Göteborg might have had a bit more trash than the places I usually go in Stockholm. I suspect that that's because Stockholm is more spread out, but if you go to e.g, Rålambshovsparken it's full of trash as well. But it might be easier to avoid in Stockholm.
@@ThreeStarVagabond thank you for the info. For what I know we don't have many places we can go to in Stockholm, especially for someone like me who loves new wave, 60/70/80, pink Floyd, led Zeppelin. Pub anchor is just for drinking while I love music and dancing. Now there are also no more excuses as we are allowed to dance. Maybe debaser but it's always off. People in Stockholm prefer to stay home and meet people at home, ir go out with the intention of drinking/ dating while I would like to go out dancing, especially since I work a lot, I do not drink and my way to space out is following music. I had to fly to Rome to dance on the weekends 😢
@@astridcyanistescaeruleus4126 Sorry to hear that! But that's actually a really good point - almost everything in Stockholm (and maybe Sweden) is centered around drinking. It's a tough nut to crack, but many people simply spend time with people who drink but stay sober - and most seem to accept that stance. Maybe that might help - find a group with similar interests and just skip the drinking...
@@ThreeStarVagabond This topic may take a while to cover, so I'll summarize it briefly. My first sambo pretended to be a perfect match for me, showing no interest in alcohol, drugs or smoking in order to impress me. However, to summarize, I found out that he was quite the opposite when he was with his friends, and I ended the relationship. To my dismay, my second sambo turned out to be very similar, and I had to break things off with him as well. They are both Swedish. I won't elaborate any further on trust issues I have now, to avoid digressing. Over the last decade, I haven't come across anyone who shares my love for spontaneity but also abstains from drinking, snus, mushrooms, or other substances. I used to reside in Karlaplan and then Enskede which are decent areas in Stockholm, but I still haven't found anyone who shares my perspective. I believe it's simply how things are here in Sweden or at least in Stockholm. I ended up isolating myself and feeling better off alone. Perhaps with the recent reopening of dancing clubs, there could be a shift, but I don't think that's the fundamental issue. Lately, I've been feeling even more constrained as I haven't left Sweden for five years because of the "V". and such. I'm currently traveling through Italy and Spain, and having fun every day, which has brought me to realize how much the environment affects me. Consequently, that's why I was checking videos regarding Göteborg over Stockholm. Maybe moving there could help. But after what I've seen and heard the confusion persists.
@@astridcyanistescaeruleus4126 Yeah, I honestly think that it's more a question of the Swedish cultural mentality in that case, rather than any particular cities. It's probably a bit better in e.g Gothenburg...but it's definitely not like in southern Europe. There are always exceptions to the rule, so there's bound to be more Swedes that share your views - but it's unfortauntely quite rare I'd guess! :/
Calling it insane to prefer Gothenburg is insane, my entire area does. We prefer Gothenburg over Stockholm cause people from stockholm are dry and generally worse people. Gothenburg is also less stressful and the people there are amazing.
As of September 2024 the old and now closed Volvo Museum got replaced by a fancy & futuristic World of Volvo (now near city center) with less focus on Volvo history but unfortunately on shiny computer games. And Konsthallen is free only for someone under the age of 25.
yes I went over there from Helsingborg to Gothenburg in train and was beautiful scenery's I love it but I try to purchase a house for 800000 thousand kroner but I find it hard to buy a house because I can't transfer my money from my bank account in new Zealand to Sweden bank account unless you have the permission accepted by the government tax department the reason why because government bureaucracy make it harder to buy it and they told me in Sweden especially in Stockholm you have to open a t ax number in a way to open a bank accounts even though I try to buy a small car they told me the same thing but I decide to come back next year and in may and sort it out
Yeah, it's difficult to transfer large amounts of money and buy things - Sweden is very bureaucratic in that way! So it's a negative thing about the country. But I like the nature and other things despite that :) Let's hope it works better next year then!
you should have talked about the classical architecture, which is much better than bland Stockholms yellow, bleached, little to no ornamented, buildings.
I understand, but then the water area and old town of Stockholm are really pretty, and beat gothenburgs harbour by miles. But the actual inner town I think is prettier in Gothenburg.@@ThreeStarVagabond

My mom's parents, E.F. and Emma Anderson were born and raised in the area so I hope to visit one day. I have one relative I am sort of in touch with but she said she HATES TRUMP so we are world's apart. She hates someone in another country she only knows about from hearing things from the CORRUPT world-wide media? This video is great. I see some parks and gardens I would love to visit. My mom was born in the U.S.. EF moved his wife and two girls to Florida where he bought and ran a boarding house/hotel/commercial spaces.
Thanks. Perhaps I can fly into Stockholm and take a side trip to Gothenburg.... @@ThreeStarVagabond
Sounds like just what a Gothenburg-phile would say!
I'm not a ''Gothenburg-phile''
We just have that opinion over here. And so far I haven't found a reason not to agree.
As of September 2024 the old and now closed Volvo Museum got replaced by a fancy & futuristic World of Volvo (now near city center) with less focus on Volvo history but unfortunately on shiny computer games. And Konsthallen is free only for someone under the age of 25.
Thanks for the updates! And yeah, it's a pity that I never got around to seeing the old Volvo museum :/ The new one doesn't really feel as interesting
best city in Sweden, forza Blåvitt
Haha, I will never agree that it's best, but it's a damn good city! ^_^
Well look for little kids and family activities !!!
yes I went over there from Helsingborg to Gothenburg in train and was beautiful scenery's I love it but I try to purchase a house for 800000 thousand kroner but I find it hard to buy a house because I can't transfer my money from my bank account in new Zealand to Sweden bank account unless you have the permission accepted by the government tax department the reason why because government bureaucracy make it harder to buy it and they told me in Sweden especially in Stockholm you have to open a t ax number in a way to open a bank accounts even though I try to buy
a small car they told me the same thing but I decide to come back next year and in may and sort it out
Yeah, it's difficult to transfer large amounts of money and buy things - Sweden is very bureaucratic in that way! So it's a negative thing about the country. But I like the nature and other things despite that :) Let's hope it works better next year then!
you should have talked about the classical architecture, which is much better than bland Stockholms yellow, bleached, little to no ornamented, buildings.
I think it's a mixed bag in both towns, actually... But yeah, I simply didn't have much time to focus on architecture this time at least
I understand, but then the water area and old town of Stockholm are really pretty, and beat gothenburgs harbour by miles. But the actual inner town I think is prettier in Gothenburg.@@ThreeStarVagabond
@@jonathan130 Fair enough! Yeah, I think Stockholm used to be pretty until they torn down the inner city and built the concrete monstrosities they have right now... But then again, I never saw it like that - but I like the old pictures of the city back then!

The best to ever come out of Gothenburg eh!
little London?? the Dutch build Goteburg so it should be little Amsterdam. in a moment in time Dutch was the official language in the city
Or maybe New Amsterdam? Damn, that name is already taken!
It´s because of the big influx of immigrants from UK, especially from Scotland. Companies like Götaverken, Göteborgs Kex and Carnegie Porter were all started by Scots. And think of Chalmers, he was scottish.
A nice lovely city indeed. I wish it were easier for citizens of Russia to travel there. Please don’t start that war thing. I would do everything to stop it…
Gothenburg is indeed lovely. And no worries! I wish we didn't have to think about that whole sordid business - I'd love to be able to visit e.g St Petersburg and Moscow and Kaliningrad, personally.
@@ThreeStarVagabondI’m afraid you may get disappointed seeing how many people there support the government. Maybe it’s worth talking to them and explaining to them that there are no enemies on the other side of the conflict. Segregation won’t help unfortunately, on the contrary it might lead to even more misunderstanding and mistrust.
@@Thomas.Deverell I think it's hard to reach out to people who are unwilling to listen. But I fully agree that segregation isn't the solution - and I truly believe that most people would be happy to live their lives in peace, without harming anyone else if they just could.

So Gothenburg is Little Little Pakistan? Tiny Pakistan?
Love Gothenburg, but I don't like your presentation. I find ìt a bit silly and amateurish.
Oh, that's too bad to hear! I assume you prefer more serious travel videos? Maybe like Rick Steves?

It does, doesn't it? It's much more laid back (and some people love that about it).
