This is by far the best take I've seen on this issue yet. As an IT guy I was wondering why they wouldn't go ahead and put an 8-core processor in these machines much like a modern phone has they can't be that much more money. I know they're using the arm platform. Certainly a little extra Ram will suffice for now but they should have gone with the eight-core instead of the Ford that they have. Especially since that thing is $2,500 come on folks. The channel is great thanks so much.
Phones are really shoddy music devices outside of playback though, so that's a bad comparison. You can't just compete price tags, you have to compare actual real world use.
Can they do better? I don't see what these standalone units need 8 core cpus for, they only do one thing and it doesn't take a lot computing power to do the one thing. Ram is the most essential part of music production. Cpu is helpful for plugins, but this is a sampler. Samples don't take any Cpu power.
I got the One last April and I'm content for now. The Expansion Packs are truly invaluable.
What made you get the One instead of the Live2?
@@dougroyce5784 Mainly the price tag at the time; $300 less than the Live II. Traded in the MPK Controller too.
the first time you use it in controller mode with a DAW and see how the Q link automaps to plugin control it casts a whole different light on how much it's really worth. when you open reaktor in the DAW the actual plugin presets (snapshots) show up on the hardware and the Q link auto maps to pages and pages of all the plugin controls instantly, it's just like the instruments onboard the hardware, scroll presets in real time and instant knob control of everything, it takes anything you open in the DAW and makes it an instant hardware device right in front of you, nothing else does that

You don’t work for free. Neither does Akai. They need to sell this design to pay for the next generation of MPCs in the future. It’s not a puzzle.
I agree with Easki,they need to put more into the sound like the older mpcs,i haven’t realized how much the Mpc 2500 sounds better than my X lol…

@@slice307 of course they can. look at how much digital has evolved and how good it sounds when done right by top notch mixers and mastering engineers. so with the right processor and evolution of the software yes it can. And if they wanted they could be re-engineered to be more analog so lets stop. of course they can

I’m perfectly happy with my MPC one , I don’t need to spend that kind of money when the system I have is more than enough for me , I play a lot of instruments so I use mine as a recording studio , I use samples and plug in instruments and instruments I have made myself , I rarely use the sample packs and prefer to do my own work
It's an MPC with more knobs, buttons and storage for the price of three MPC One's. Same software. Be nice to have, but it's just an expensive luxury to be honest.
Having all 16 q links there is night and day. Even if you don't like the xse the X is the standard. I love my live II but it has plenty to complain about, in addition to the praise
@@TranceCore3 Sure, but the One has 16 quick links too with the shift button. It's not like they don't do the same job. I think personally if I was making this the centerpiece of a studio I'd maybe consider it.

MPC One is out of stock all over Europe. GAK is giving an estimate of June. Bax are saying no delivery times available. So I’m guessing no more stock - discontinued.
Just hope it has Bluetooth and a USB 3.0 port as well as the wifi and ram upgrade. Going to be an instant buy for me.
I really like the MPC X SE but way too big for my needs, money and space.
I’ve got a feeling the first batch of MPC ones / Live 2’s are going to be red. Akai means red in Japanese and it’s an anniversary edition.Ave mcree hinted this in his MPC X Se video.
Didn’t see an arranger button on the newer X so that might mean no arranger. Not a deal breaker as I export to live 11.
Yeah I think you’re right, we’re going to see better paid for plug ins so the ram is needed and the MPC One is the only device without wifi and that’s needed for authorisation. OS 3.0 will come later after a line refresh on the ram.
Maybe even a cheeky MPC 500 style portable to compete with the Roland Sp404.

Akai are full of ish all I'm interested in is 3.0 cause at least then there forced to upgrade something.i don't understand how people are cool with them not giving some sort of timeline.its been ages since a decent update.
There will be no major upgrades until a generational hardware change is made. All new hardware.
The best is for me that I got an second hand X for €890 including a 250GB SSD.
I've noticed by watching a few unboxing videos on the X Special Edition it comes in a regular Akai cardboard box vs the the nice custom boxes you get with the X,One, Live 2 that's the exciting part of unboxing your unit 😂🤣😂. $2,499.00.

This could mean the end of firmware updates for the pre SE version MPCs, marking the end of the current era and the start of a new one. They're probably going to upgrade the MPC Live II by giving it more ram and plugins and call it the MPC Live III, or Live II SE The same goes for the MPC One. That way everything across the entire MPC platform would be consistent. And yes, it's about money!!!!!
Shit im still rockin the MPC2000XL and Studio Black. Im not chasing MPs around. And once studio black doesnt work with whatever new MPC3.0 or whatever, im just going straight daw, mouse, and midi keyboard, and retire pounding pads, and will get the same end result.

Been watching all of the fuss on the X SE. This is probably the best breakdown of why, what’s coming next and Akai’s direction. As an X user I like the unit but it has given me issues with regular error codes coming up. Akai Pro isn’t the same company (or ownership) and I think that we have to realise that it’s no longer about the Akai sound. I doubt I’ll be upgrading my MPC X for now.
People just don't see the big picture. They are still looking back for that sound of the 90's in 2023. If you want that 90's sound- buy a MPC 2000XL. As you stated, EVERY MPC from the SE on will have more RAM and storage- because the new vst's and firmware updates will need the bigger space. People are NEVER satisfied. Pretty soon they will want the MPC to make the beat for them!
2000xl doesn’t sound much different from a daw. You gotta get the 3000, 60 or 60 II. Coming from someone with a 2000 classic that was looking for those sounds
I just found out the Mpc software 2 doesn’t support digital sources like Adat or spdf. How is the even possible in 2023.
They figured that nobody uses that anymore.
@@Roomer645 that’s crazy. Adat and spdf are very handy. The good thing is studio one supports it and so does AUM on iPad. It gives 8 channels with one cable.

Personally, I’am not going to buy this. Too large to fit my desk, I’ve got the MV8800 and I think it’s too big as well. I recently bought the Akai Force combined with a keyboard (Akai MPK61) and Iam OK with this, I sequence all my beats on my computer with REAPER. I prefer to let all this new stuff for those who don’t understand Akai business, next appointment the Akai XXL with 12GB RAM and 1TO internal storage 😊
I've had the MPC X for about 3 years now and I'm good. It will be a long time before I buy another one no matter what. The reason why is I paid over two grand for it and you think I'm about to spend another $2500 on an upgrade.....nope.

If AKAI were smart they would add a battery and speakers to the MpC One and drop the Live 2.. almost all of the producers I know including myself prefer the form factor of the MPC One over the Live 2 anyways. There's no need for a middle man (mpc live) and also this would make the MpC One the ultimate portable MPC and would compliment the MPC X making it more attractive to own both models
That's EXACTLY what I want...an MPC one with a built battery and speakers. Instant buy for me
But then you gonna complain the price. Dont expect the new ONE to be $700 with wifi and speakers.

Anybody who wanted one of the newer MPCs has already got one , so I think this is desperation , charging for the plug-ins was the last time I gave a shit about AKAI ,I just make my own instruments from free pc VSTs or instruments I own , it’s a sampler , sample shit
I just sold my X for the beatclub live 2. Live 2 is by far the best mpc you can have for all around use. New X is the biggest rip off to date😂😂 u can get a x now for 1699 and buy all the vsts

I have an MPC One that I barely use. Too confusing. I'm old school drum machine programming.
I don't know man, comparing this to the MPC One... even if both have SE grade... Pointless. People who buy the X want bigger screen, more hands-on controls, etc. Totally different league.
I know but people have to make decisions. Even a guy was an expert on MPC excellent MPC live two might just want NBC one if it’s the form factor form you never know I just want to make sure I presented everything.
They are all the same. Get a used ONE for $450. Or a 404 mk2
