I don't think Midori was ever underrated. Well you have a point in the '80s especially at the 88 Olympics. That was rigged by the European block. But that wasn't underrated, that was politics and possibly discriminatory. But her name stands above all of the rest of those in my opinion. She is a pioneer of the sport. And pure joy to watch. I love her too.
This performance bought tears to my eyes--it would have, even without the ginormous 2A. The pure joy of skating, love for the sport, etc. etc. are all condensed into this lovely performance. I hope she will compete every year for a long, long time! My life is richer, just for having seen this performance.

Proper technique and training is the difference between landing double axels at 40 something years old and facing lifelong and debilitating back injuries at 25. Take note Eteri and Russia.
Midori... what a beautiful skate you did!!! Thank you for returning as a fellow Adult Skater and to prove that figure skating is NOT just a sport for kids only!!! It's obviously that you were HAPPY to be back on the ice and competing! I hope that you will consider returning again to Oberstdorf so I can actually PLAN the trip to meet you there!!! :)

And forty-one years, some people train pull, but here only non-singular expressive skating, figure skating even though I'm not engaged, but have a high level in speed skating, and I understand what I'm talking, and ignorance in what I say absolutely not.

Haljava23's perspective is so entirely off the mark that it's like saying Poetzsch deserved the 5.6s for elements for her Lake Placid SP! Nobody would take him/her seriously, so let's just enjoy Midori's return to the ice!

Absolutely not think anything outstanding performance of 3 +3 jumps in children, it is now in every second. it all depends on the coach and parents that allow their children to overload training.

現役の時代に当時の固くて重いスケート靴でのジャンプの練習で足の形が変形しているくらいなのでその状態で今こんなに飛べるのはむしろ奇跡です。

I can skate like that too...lol jokes, I struggle with a single axel and I fall over trying to do things like double three's and double rockers -.-
