COD has taken a huge dump the last 8 years. I just quit buying. No reason to support them. It's all hype every single year, when will people stop buying and wake up!
A system that systematically punishes you for getting better at the very game itself is the most backward corrupted thing I have ever heard of in gaming history. I don’t ever remember when I was playing the modern warfare two and three days that people wanted it easier. That was the whole point, to struggle to get better. I wanted to be as good as the guys that were at the top of the lobbies. So I worked my butt off and got good and even joined a team briefly. This whole business model Activision has implemented in these games was never going to fix what they thought it would.
They have a good concept in terms of business and making revenue, but their actual EOMM product doesn’t actually work that way at all. They are trying to keep absolutely everyone addicted and spending money with this system, but what seems to be happening is the average and above average players are getting punished to the point where they’re just leaving. Their system not working correctly at all serves them right for being extremely slimy and greedy.
the problem is SBMM itself is bad but it doesn't matter how strict it is if the game can't hold players, look at Xdefiant. It's main selling point was no SBMM and it's at risk of shutting down after season 3 if player count doesn't improve.
The thing that annoys me the most about sbmm is the fact that I just can’t play with my friends. I am at a level that’s so far ahead of them that they can barely even shoot a player before dying 15 times. I don’t even blame them for not wanting to play with me because I understand that my lobby’s aren’t even fun for me. Why they don’t just leave sbmm in ranked (or how it was in the likes of mw2-bo2) is just beyond me.
Yep my closest friends are gods at cod and whenever I play with them I struggle a lot the first few games I struggle to keep positive then after that I cant even get positive anymore its actually awful
@@raekwonchambers2297 yeah, they told me that too. It’s so silly that it has come to this because you should be encouraged to play with your friends. Im sure we could argue that this is Activision bullying their players. Maybe they’ll listen at that point 😂
Technology didn't. I mean well it kinda did but its not the technology's fault. Its the fault of greedy, PoS CEOs and board members who never played CoD, never cared about it, have no passion for it, but just want to milk ever cent out of the playerbase as they can. That's what killed call of duty. I sound like a boomer but it saddens me a lot that people have been born on this earth and are now at the age where I used to run home to play CoD with my friends, but instead they get manipulated into spending money in the shop and battlepasses and taken advantage of by matchmaking brackets. They don't get to have that "woah look at how good this guy is! I wish I was that good!" moment. Activision have taken so much from not only us. But all those who have come along since. People have lived without ever seeing the golden age of CoD that many of us remember so fondly.
Exactly!! This is the only way to make SBMM acceptable. Allow us to see what kind of lobby we’re in so we can at least get some satisfaction from being in super sweat lobbies.
I knew I wasn't tripping. Whenever I got a good lobby of over 1.5 K/D the game intentionally tries to nerf me. I am sorry but the only skill issue people have for not liking the game is that they are too good so the matchmaking intentionally nerfs them.
It's how it works haha, I always have ONE amazing game where I go positive with almost 2 K/D, after that, I always start to struggle and after a few more games, I go either even or negative.
Yea I knew I wasnt trippin Ive heard other say the same I can do really good in the start of the game then towards like halfway ending of the game I instantly know they nerf my bullets and I get down in like 3 bullets
The biggest thing I hate about sbmm to me is every match is genuinely the same. Everyone plays the same way, uses the same gun, and try’s the same amount. There’s genuinely 0 variety in it & that just feels super terrible after a week of dealing with it. I just wanna meme with snipers and that shit is painful with the way sbmm works against you.
unfortunately i dont think sbmm will ever get removed. It statistically helps make activision money, and activision would sell everyone's soul if it meant they get more money :(
@bannedmann4469 you have not been listening to their updates on sbmm obviously. The drastically loosened sbmm for half of the mw3 players. The half with lower sbmm experienced much greater player decline in lower skilled players. They were much less likely to player after 2 weeks. They went on to further state that this impacts the skilled players too because the skill floor has been raised and nows its just sweats playing the game. But still, who tf cares. This is cod, every match should feel different and organic.
Swat 556 was such a sleeper weapon in Black Ops 2, especially with select fire. Not the best weapon but so satisfying to shoot. I get your struggle, if BO2 would come out today I would struggle with it too.
what’s crazy is that this game is promoted for being the most mobile (movement based) cod of all time. And they are catering to the bots that aren’t even gonna use the movement…
It's frustrating because Black Ops 6 feels good at its core and definitely is a decent COD so far, but the SBMM just ruins it. You can't have fun playing casually/somewhat competitively and you have to use 100% of your brain power to go positive + go on streaks
Yup. And the best way to do it is camping. Because the spawns are so bad and unpredictable, moving around the map will only set the enemy's spawnpoint.
I was getting slammed last night just trying to play casual because I was tired and wanted to relax. I got tired of losing, so I managed to turn on 100% percent of my brain for about 5 minutes and go on a streak. I just want to chill, COD, not fry my brain out every match lol!
yea idk bout that. i take it youve never been in a lobby full of people shouting at you for not having watched the youtube guide for the 27 step easter egg?
I knew a 50yo guy who would play every Wednesday after drinking at the golf course with his friends. Budgeted out his season pass money too. He was absolutely terrible and had a great time playing against other players like him. So you probably are right and this is how the majority of players experience the game.
@@Yuuki_Asuna and you know whats the best? when you finally improve and get better, you are rewarded with better enemies that make you feel like you didnt do any progress and will never get to a point where you can be happy about your progress since the only thing you get from it is being punished. nice
He kinda touched on this in the video but it’s very true. Being terrible at COD is an important phase in the journey. It’s the only thing that makes you want to commit and get better. With SBMM there’s never any satisfaction. It’s always an uphill battle to be better than everyone else in your lobby, but it will never happen because you’re all the same skill by the mechanics of SBMM.
Not everyone cares about getting better. At the end of the day it's just a video game and many people just want to play this game for some mindless fun after a long day at work or whatever. Those truly casual players would constantly get ran over in a game absent of SBMM and would eventually grow tired and seek a different game to play. SBMM caters to these individuals but SBMM complainers don't seem to understand this because they only see's things through their own narrow scope.
@@MR12AMAZINGthe joy of not having sbmm is that they wouldn’t just constantly get smacked by a good player. One game they might be and the next they might not. @@jarrettgillmore467 This is a 6v6 game with streaks. it only takes one really good player to reck a lobby. That would happen a lot more often if there wasn't sbmm leading to more steamrolling and rage quitting. Xdefiant kinda had that problem and you couldn't call in chopper gunners and advanced uavs. Sbmm was there back in day too but it just didnt feel as strong because there wasn't crossplay.
omg you meeting the guy, not shooting at him, and then you become "friends".. that reminds me so much of CoD2, where I used to have full lobbies meet in the middle of a match and just like take a picture together or whatever. That's what made me fall in love with CoD. I miss that so much. I guess my goal is to get worse now idk :D
I remember playing world at war and getting people to squad up in the lobby and we would play our own style of game like say sniper only or no equipment and we would all meet up in the middle of the map and it was just wholesome
Honestly at this point in my life I've come to the conclusion that the only way to ever get ahead in these games is to constantly be looking for actual good players on Discord and chat forms to play matches with because anymore I try to play matches by myself and I end up getting wrecked because I'm constantly being put in matches where sweats are teaming up together while I'll just play with randoms that don't give two craps whether or not they have a 0.1 kd ratio
4:10 That little RC Car segment was probably the most wholesome thing this game will ever see😂 God, the laughter on cod mixed with semi hirribke mics by dudes who just wanted to have fun. Miss those times, and that segment was a snipet if it
@@willwilkinson8014 engagement based matchmaking. So, for example. Let’s say you run around A LOT and never camp. Play a couple of rounds and just camp then you’ll notice your opponents will be all over the place and vice versa. They claim to have evidence that SBMM is better for the community… but that’s based off 1 month during peak player count… Why can’t they do just ONE year without SBMM for actually research and evidence regarding SBMM I just wanna chill man, like you said, I don’t want to stress or sweat or get a nuke every day. I just want to play more than 2-3 games before getting fed up. I want to spend hours playing the game. The day SBMM is removed is the day I put money in the game
Taking away SBMM for one month and concluding it’s good is akin to a parent taking away their kid’s iPad for a month and concluding the iPad is good for the kid because the kid acted like an asshole when it was taken away and perked up when they got it back.
If you truly want to just chill… then play the game and chill? Everyone is having the same experience as everyone else with SBMM. The difference is the level of competitiveness that you bring in. The people at the lower levels who are literally just chilling… they don’t care that they keep getting killed by people of similar skill as them. They’re just enjoying the game.
If you wanna chill then you can chill lol. No one is forcing you to sweat. The problem with you people is that you equate enjoyment with how well you perform. When you go negative it's unenjoyable but when you're getting chopper gunners it's fun...
@@MR12AMAZING you don’t understand. We don’t want easy lobbies. Easy lobbies are not fun. We want to be rewarded for getting better, not punished. In ping is king lobbies, your performance would indicate your skill relative to the average of the playerbase. As you get better you’d trend more and more towards the top of the scoreboard. In SBMM lobbies you always just feel mid no matter how much effort you put into getting better. Even if you reach a new level, you’d never be able to tell by looking at the scoreboard because the goal post gets moved to compensate.
You'd literally never be able to find a friendly enemy with sbmm seeing that emeny be your friend and being friendly and so chill reminded me of the great old days of cod. Sbmm has really robbed us of all the fun unpredictable moments we used to encounter and find back in the day.
I don’t even think it’s a SBMM issue. I think for a lot of players they have been playing CoD so long that there’s nothing new and exciting anymore. Its the same thing in counter-strike 2.. there is word going around that new players that just downloaded the game have more of an advantage in terms of game performance vs a player that has been playing for a while. I've asked many players that are somewhat good and they tell me the game feels different every time they play. 1-2 games they'll drop like 25+ frags then the next game they cant even kill a player standing still because they get ghost bullets and drop like 5-10 kills. I pretty much only play ranked play. SBMM unironically seems stronger in this beta than it does in actual ranked play, today I had a few good matches then literally matched against the New York Subliners.
The Activision SBMM uses your _recent_ performance to matchmake so if you've had a couple of really good matches, you will be going against reall tough opposition in the next ones. Ranked play SHOULD put you against players with similar rank -> your whole "career" in ranked is taken into account when matchmaking, not just few recent matches.
Not being funny but SBMM in the last few cods has been stronger in casual modes then it is in ranked play. Like its easire to play ranked the public games.

Shame how they ruined a series for greed. Now all they care about is selling garbage skins, battle passes and warzone
Activision really really really has to make sbmm a toggle feature. If you like sbmm you can turn it on, if you don't like sbmm you can turn it off. This is literally the perfect fix for the sbmm issue in cod.
Legitimately makes me sad that we’ll never see a COD like the days of the past again. I hate how sweaty SBMM makes the game. I don’t understand what’s so difficult about having a competitive game mode versus a casual game mode. It can’t be that hard. I don’t want to have a 1.0 KD every game. I want games where my KD is 0.1 and 20.0. Games that feel the exact same every time is just… pointless.
This is a prime example of video gaming companies being run by MBA’s. people who have zero knowledge about how to have fun in a video game, but are only focused on milking money every possible way. Hence: 1. SBMM to protect the lower skilled people from being slapped. 2. Protect people who buy bundles every now and then by using AI to guide their shots and help them get easier lobbies. With sbmms logic if he plays well the next game he has will be against all primed Michael Jordan’s while his team are filled with short blind people that can’t play basketball. What’s crazy to me is that I haven’t played COD since BO4. Somehow the beta knows what lobbies to put me in. Back in BO4 I carried over 500spm and 3.8 kd playing solo. I just did what Nero did in this video and wow I’m astonished by how crazy the matchmaking is now. Getting a refund on BO6. Not paying for this garbage manipulation of matches. I've had one moment like that one you had with the sniper but in XDefiant, where me and an enemy missed both our shots so embarrassingly that I started shaking 'no' with my camera, and the guy acknowledged it by doing the same and we just walked away from eachother. I also normally get about a 2 K/D. You'd never see something like that with SBMM or EOMM. But because there's a chance people aren't going in with a sweaty mindset, you can have moments like that. Heres the thing with SBMM. If me and my buddies hop on and do well because we are working together, after an hour we are in lobbys where every other player is blatantly cheating. This is the final outcome of any SBMM as the cheaters are going to have the 10.0KD and obviously heavily weighted to the higher end of "skill". I have never heard anyone bring that aspect of it up. I dont really mind playing with sweats, but cheaters are a different story.
And the crazy thing is the low KD players will never run into cheaters and will have the impression that they are just not in the game but all of the high skill players will run into cheaters constantly. at this point, there is no reward at all for being good at the game.
Video hitting nostalgia, and I agree this beta is a mess. Pretty sure they look at inputs too which is odd. On controller I get some serious sweat lobbies. First time using M&K for a meme my lobby looked like the ones in the video. I remember how exciting MW2 was for me, probably still the most fun I have ever had on a Call of Duty and I was 12 at the time. I remember just getting bullied in a lot of lobbies due to the broken guns and noob tubes and just not being good cause it was my first CoD and again I was 12. Every day though I would get on and play, I remember getting my first nuke in that game camping on top of Rust's tower. I was so excited I ran down stairs and told my mom and sisters. They must have thought I was crazy at the time. All the bad lobbies and deaths to get to that point made it feel so much more rewarding. I hate SBMM with a passion, feels like it takes away from that excitement of things finally lining up and just popping off out of no where. Now to even do camo challenges in these games I start with snipers/knives so my stuff drops so low that I don't have to sweat while just trying to grind camos. I know SBMM isn't going anywhere but I wish it would be toned down. Sorry for the paragraph lol

Between that and getting called every slur known to man, it was devastating to go negative in TDM back then. You would just get ripped apart in the lobby. They took the soul of the franchise and replaced it with flashy fast movement and smooth animations.
What I also find funny is I'm a .78 to .89+ boomer casual player and it makes me laugh when guys in the lobby start trash talking. I'm like, dude, you're 25 years younger than me and you're talking smack about your round? I'm thinking this in my head of course because why say something embarrassing to these players who think they're top tier players. As you mentioned before, I do play with friends who are 1.0+ players and they love when I'm on. They group with me in heart beat.

Fast movement was never even a thing in cod I just can’t understand how people like the sliding and bunny hoppping. In the older cods you lost accuracy when jumping and shooting.
@@RJTradess the older cods were faster, dropshotting which is even heavier and more disgusting has been in the game for decades. same with dolphin diving, only now instead of being able to run, dive and slide in 1 direction, you can do it in any direction. and im sorry man older cods were clunky and janky, the newer ones did way better at handling and recoil, also i do not remember EVER getting into a cod game before mw19 and seeing people NOT jump shotting drop shotting, hell ive never once felt the "lost accuracy" when jumping. genuinely never
I HATE THE NEW GENERATION OF COD PLAYERS for one reason and one reason alone. THEY HAVE ZERO MAP SENSE AT ALL and they are constantly flipping the spawns. I'm telling them, stop running directly into their Spawn!!! Quit flipping the spawn!! I had an entire team saying, "WTF does that even mean?" As they were literally running back and forth back and forth getting our entire team obliterated. They have no clue how to manage spawns and spawn camp. So freaking annoying!!!
the HVT mode is the worst, go like 3 games never being the HVT and then when you are your whole team ditches you to the point the whole enemy team spawns around you
This bro Hvt players are complete monkeys Whenever I get the tag I stay put and begin to direct my team over comms while I end up abandoned and defending myself 1v6 as my chimp team mates rush the other side and flip the spawns on me
COD only sells because the name and the market is absolute dog water. This "new" game is COLD WAR 2.0. The exact same game with "different" maps, and names for the weapons
I fell in love with the game (old style cod) because when I first started I was HORRIBLE at it. I would die 20+ times and maybe get one kill if I was lucky . But over time I could get two kills a match and maybe die a little less . Then years later I was the one in the lobby getting the most kills sometimes. I don’t mind a light SBMM but there is a HUGE problem when you are penalized for getting better or being a good playing or playing with a friend that is way better than you. I don’t care about getting the most kills or super easy lobbies, I just want to chill and rush around like crazy with whatever gun without being beamed the moment I walk around every corner. RIP cod … so sad :(

Sbmm has been a thing since black ops 2, but it wasn't as thick as it is these days. For example, I still remember on black ops 2, when I was playing with my main squad I was finding mixed lobbies. Some tryhards, some nooby af. But then I played with a friend who was terrible at the game. Like legit a bot due to them being high af all the time. Those lobbies were insane, it was a miracle people could shoot

You content creators are the reason we have sbmm if we being honest. Yall are the reason for all the hackers. Im not a fan of sbmm and im not that good k/d is like 1.25. You should never play with anyone this bad. Youre a tryhard not a casual. We got all these ppl cheating cuz they want to be good like you content creators. Yall sound weird talking like you just want to casually play but you really want to casually dominate. I shouldnt with my 125 k/d ever play against scump. You sound crazy man
no... thats not gonna help you... SBMM atleast puts you in lobbies with similar skill, if you get matched w people of similar ping, it would take alot longer, and if your internet is shit that day, you'll get into lobbies with laggy mfers. SBMM can stay thanks.
@@the-insomniac323 all of that is untrue. All CoDs before AW would get you into a match almost instantly, not to mention keep the lobby together. Also my internet doesn’t have “bad days”. Idk what internet you’re rocking but sounds like you need a change. Also also, not having SBMM would still give you players of your own skill to play against, it just wouldn’t have every singular game you play be ultra-super tournament tryhard mode. Also also also, with SBMM anytime you do well with an off-meta gun for a couple games, you then get thrown into non-stop meta-gun lobbies and then you’re just fucked every gunfight. Because at that point it’s just math. SBMM and EOMM can kick rocks. I don’t pay $100+ a year to be manipulated every second I’m on the game.

It wasn't ever meant to fix anything outside of how to finance the ceos next yatch

Activision really really really has to make sbmm a toggle feature. If you like sbmm you can turn it on, if you don't like sbmm you can turn it off. This is literally the perfect fix for the sbmm issue in cod.
By default it is on for the casuals. The hardcore players just switch it off in settings. Sounds good, so you know it won't happen😂
Pretty sure that's called ranked play... Well ya know, in normal games
There is, it's called Ranked... In a perfect world tho
Too Activision thats toggling profits so thats never happening
Try hards would have it off. Normal people would have it on.
Hence:
1. SBMM to protect the lower skilled people from being slapped.
2. Protect people who buy bundles every now and then by using AI to guide their shots and help them get easier lobbies.
So unfortunately if you want to have fun in COD, better start spending money regularly in their store.
@@gurleensandhu3764 even at the lower levels it f*cks us. I have a sub 1 kd because I suck and I like to run with weird weapons it puts me consistently with people like 3+k/d at least one if not more per lobby

Not to mention my own hit detection seemed trash. I eventually partied up with my gf, who has a .5 kd, and it was instantly a COMPLETE different experience. Great connection, still some decent players but way less sweaty try hards and was actually fun to play. Only downside to this was still losing every match due to team balancing but I can live with that.
Yeah solo is pain
I made so many friends in COD4. Some were better, some were worse, but we always had fun. We had incentive to help one another get better at the game.
Now the same friends don't even like playing with me since the lobbies feel like they're trying to win a million dollar tournament every game.

He’s extremely good and can casually dunk on players and basically outmaneuver them at almost any given chance. He’s good because he put in the effort to be that good. He does have the occasional game where he has to try hard because there are players almost as good as he is and he has to put in the work to get that win. With sbmms logic if he plays well the next game he has will be against all primed Michael Jordan’s while his team are filled with short blind people that can’t play basketball. On top of that with eomm everytime he tries to make a shot the basket gets smaller and smaller while his opposing team gets a big basket to make as many shots as possible.

I thought since this is Treyarch and BO6 things would change. Lobbies still disband, poor connection, inconsistency in gun fights. After you see a fresh account it all comes to light. F$ck Activision.
And I bet you was a good player in BO4 too buddy like me in mw2019 and I’ve not even played BO6 beta no way
Last year was the first time I would join on low KD accounts to escape SBMM hell. It was the most fun I've had in CoD since Black Ops 4 and the majority of players never left the game or even noticed what was happening.
SBMM talk is always saddening in CoD, but that documentary narration was hilarious! lmao
I love when you shoot at someone a solid 1 second before they do but they kill you first 10/10
And with “one” bullet.
😱
I would have never expected that
ITS BEEN 5 years guys
I've had one moment like that one you had with the sniper but in XDefiant, where me and an enemy missed both our shots so embarrassingly that I started shaking 'no' with my camera, and the guy acknowledged it by doing the same and we just walked away from eachother. I also normally get about a 2 K/D. You'd never see something like that with SBMM or EOMM. But because there's a chance people aren't going in with a sweaty mindset, you can have moments like that.
Same with the Battlefield games, I've had moments where I got cornered by a tank and I started T-bagging and the tank driver was amused enough to let me live. You'd never see that in modern CoD.
My question is, how do these people get better if there’s nothing challenging them?
The real question is "do they even care to get better in the first place?"
They don't care. Simple as that.
I am over the sweatiness, the algorithm isn’t doing it for me

I remember how exciting MW2 was for me, probably still the most fun I have ever had on a Call of Duty and I was 12 at the time. I remember just getting bullied in a lot of lobbies due to the broken guns and noob tubes and just not being good cause it was my first CoD and again I was 12. Every day though I would get on and play, I remember getting my first nuke in that game camping on top of Rust's tower. I was so excited I ran down stairs and told my mom and sisters.
