- Hello everybody and to a brand new series of City Bus Manager!
It's the first episode of our brand new series and I'm not going to lie to you I'm really excited for this! Some of you guessed right with your many suggestions, for this season I'm very much venturing out of my comfort zone with a series in the South of England!
We're starting small today I think, making sure that we've got a decent sized bus depot with all the relevant parts. We're going to be making a purchase of some Optare Solos to get us started, as well as taking advantage of the tendered routes which are offered!

joe, 8l/100km is better than 25l/100km as that is the amount of fuel the bus needs to travel that distance.

Fun fact, If you zoom in to a ferry port and it says the name of the Route on the water, You can (Normally) make a route over water as long as there is a road so you might be able to make a route over the Hayling Ferry

Hi Joe. Love to see some Portsmouth action. The 700 goes from Portsmouth Hbr (Gunwharf Quays) to Chichester. + The only way to get to the Hayling Ferry is by going from Town to the Hayling Ferry or changing at havant
I'm in Portsmouth so ironic someone doing a game based on it. Get a bus all around the island, but make sure Fratton park has at least 2 routes as easy money 😂

I live in Portsmouth so know the area well. I find it funny at 26:23 you trying to get the bus around The Thicket. I used to live a few streets over from it and that road would be near impossible to get a bus around (Certainly impossible without mounting a kerb). It is also one way. It is letting you go both ways down a one way street though so yeah.
I always begin with a public service route to get the money rolling. Looks like I’m not the only one.
I am doing my own City Bus Manager company in Dublin Ireland and will follow this series for good tips.

I've had Portsmouth on my South Coast series for so long and I'm still only serving it with one route, a massive up-and-over route to Gosport via Fareham
Being as your in Hampshire you should be doing HF59 xxx but habits die hard I know Joe 😂
Portsmouth is near me so well done portsmotuh is a city and there’s also a bus which runs every 24/7
Joe got a suggestion gor a circular route there use to the 117 and 118 which went from the hard to eastney via city centre fratton and milton albert road the 117 went anti clockwise and the 118 went clockwise and serves 3 train stations and the football staduim
Noooo😥its not Bournemouth but joe you need to keep heading east to head towards Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole! But one advice for if you get the bcp area use not hundred numbers use single and double numbers like 1 or 10 but not hunfreds please joe!
Bournemouth is West, but I agree I was very hopeful it would be the BCP area.

The Buses can use the ferry to the Isle of Wight if you unlock the island.
the yj bit of the plate apparently means its from leeds! 59 is the latter half of 2009 too

Joe, I support Portsmouth FC! How do you get English buses? I only get European buses. I am new to cbm so I don’t know how to make buses English. Thanks
The 25 bus route runs up to the hayling ferry landing on the portsmouth but nothing runs up it on the other. There have been calls to get the 30/31 bus routes to go there but stagecoach are refusing

Could you maybe use more variety of buses this series. Like maybe have a depot somewhere just for mini buses 🚌
I get stressed with how much space u are wasting. The kitchen doesn’t need to be that big, neither the workshop. Space that could be used for break room and corridor. And bus spaces. But Joe is Joe😂 love the new series

Joe you should definitely give Project Hospital a go on here, use sandbox mode and you get to make you’re own very detailed hospital from scratch.
