I’m not tired of seeing the echelon 4.0 c on my feed I’m just tired of seeing it from reviewers that it’s been sent to! But I’m glad that you’ll be truthful in your review wether they sent it to you or not
It’s all too common to have content creators softball a review to gain favor with the company making the product. I give my honest opinion to keep favor with my viewers. We are not the same lol
Definitely need a side by side comparison of the S&W M&P2.0 vs the Springfield echelon. These two are my top 2 firearms that I shoot the most accurate with!!!!!! Great video.
This is my first time on your channel. Great, honest review. You just got a new subscriber. I am a big fan of the M&P 2.0, and would love to see this compared to the M&P 2.0 compact. Looking forward to checking out more of your content and new reviews to come.
Ah, glad you mentioned that beavertail. It wore that part of my thumb to the point of bleeding. I sanded mine then smoothed it out after it was comfortable. Made a huge difference.👍🏽
@@kendallwheeler4050 I want one bad. I was filling out paperwork for a new 20" maverick 88 security. That's my only pickup this year. Hopefully next year lands me a new pistol too.
I solved the beavertail issue by swapping backstraps. I surprisingly ended up with the small backstrap which allowed my hand to wrap slightly better to avoid the beavertail rubbing on my thumb.
I’ll have to put a few mags through it with the small on. I run medium on both echelons, the small just doesn’t feel like it fills my hand quite enough. I’m excited to see what kind of aftermarket options come out for a grip module on this gun
@@360TacticalSolutions It probably works for me because I "upgraded" to the Echelon from a Hellcat RDP so I was already accustomed to a slightly smaller grip -- it was the Hellcat RDP's smaller grip that gave me the counter-intuitive idea to even try the smaller backstrap on the Echelon. I love that they made it so easy, I even went so far as to order a small grip-frame but that ended being a bridge too far -- so stock/medium grip + small backstrap is where I settled. Before that, I agree, I could tell it was really chewing up my thumb after the first few mags so I gave it a try and was totally surprised that it worked... for me anyway. Good luck, Conceal and Carry on!
They are selling the compact mags and frames now (not all the colors yet). Wish they also sold non-threaded barrels, etc., but at least they are moving in the right direction.
I bought An Echelon 4.0c for $589.00 LOVE IT. Only wish they didn't have the ambi mag release on both sides. I filed the wrong side I don't use flush so it would not accidentally be pressed.
It seems like a great gun. I use wish they had released it with a variant that has a compensator from the get go. I don’t know why Springfield wants to wait six months to release a comp version
Oh that’s easy. They will get the initial sales and when sales numbers slow down that’s when they will release another version. Classic sales strategy. Never give the customer too much to choose from on day 1 or they will hesitate on their purchase
Great video! Didn’t care to watch the others but you always get straight to the point.Looking forward to see why you don’t like the Vortex,I have the XL on my full size echelon it’s been great
This pistol has been whored out by many influencers. It's not a good look for the gun itself. I am looking for truely honest reviews. I know you are a shooter and not a schill so I appreciate your honesty. Very helpful. Thank you for your efforts Best wishes
I got a link in the description, use it you decide to buy one lol it helps support the channel. That holster has a weird material glued to it. Some kind of soft fabric. Is makes it incredibly comfortable to wear
As he stated Apex has a one sided release that will work for either side. They've just been out of stock for a while unfortunately. I signed up for alerts to snag it when it comes back
@360TacticalSolutions absolutely will do when it's back in stock. Picked up my apex trigger for the hellcat a few months back with your code as well. Appreciate the content! Hoping they also have their guide rode for the compact by then too.
Nice solid, straight forward review. Honestly, all of the modern, main line striker fired 9mm handguns are excellent. Glock should get all the credit for making S&W, CZ, Springfield…etc better.
I think a lot of why LE and military had used it is pricing more than anything. I mean Glock is a solid gun but we are at what…gen5 now and the gun isnt really much different from Gen3. I will say Glock took polymer framed striker fired guns and pushed them into the mainstream at a time where the belief was that a gun had to be steel and heavy in order to be reliable and duty safe. In that sense Glock’s influence on the industry has changed the landscape of pistols
@ My point is Glock is the foundation for practically all of the modern striker fired 9mm pistols. The current Glock 17 and the Springfield are very similar. Where is the ground breaking innovation with the Echelon? Basically, another Glock clone like so many others.
Oh thats easy. Head over to Talon grips. It's a stick on grip. They have 3 types...granulate, rubber and pro. The one I use is Pro. Granulate is an aggressive sandpaper type, Rubber is pretty self explanatory and then the Pro is kind of a hybrid. It gives you a lot more grip without being so rough that it irritates the skin. Hope that helps
Love the first lines. Maybe it's my monitor not showing the edges of the video, but I couldn't see when you grip the gun is your pinky fully on the grip with a little extra? I'm in California, so these aren't on the Roster yet, but when they get on it I don't see them, or the full size, being in a display case long enough to physically check them out.
lol I remember how it was when they put out the first Echelon. Drove me crazy. 20 videos in a row in my feed where you could tell the people had hardly even used it. I’ve been sitting on this gun for a month now working with it and waiting to make a video till the content slowed down. I really just didn’t want to do what everyone else did
Yeah that geometry of beaver tail edge lines are more squarely like Hellcat than competitors. Maybe it’s Springfield Armory common design element that I’m not a fan of
Just looking for a good home defense gun. I carry shield plus 3.1 performance gun. I have a 4in shield plus performance center. But like i told you starting to have ftf issues. Calling smith Thursday. May just wait and see what they say. For home defense would echelon 4.0c or full size de better
I wouldn’t necessarily compare the two guns. The 4” M&P 2.0 would be a better comparison. The Shield Carry Comp is a decent gun but it leans more toward concealment vs an all around use gun. For instance the Shield is thinner and has that ridiculous short grip that requires mag extensions in order to have a full grip on the gun and it doesnt have a rail for accessories like weapon mounted lights. Again, it’s a pretty good gun but it aims at a different use than the Echelon Compact. I would stack it next to something like the Hellcat Pro in terms of comparison but honestly the HCP would win all day long.
@360TacticalSolutions but you can put a Pierce base pad for the pinky and they can put an acserly for light. The Pierce fits my pinky extension just fine
@ true but using the mag as a grip platform for your pinkie means breaking your grip during mag changes which honestly doesn’t make sense when they could extend the grip a little bit and have a more full grip with flush fit 15 round mags. The Hellcat Pro did it right. And sure you can add different accessories for lights but then we are talking about adding failure points and extra costs in order to do something that should have been designed into it to start with. Their idea is increased concealability but that shorter grip makes minimal difference in concealment, not adding enough frame to accommodate an accessory rail also gives no advantage.
Thinking about trading in my 4in shield plus optics ready for the elecon 4.0. Slide much easier to rack. Getting older and shield plus 4in is getting harder to rack. The elecon 4.0 c seems easier to rack. What's your opinion
@ that’s a tough one. The Echelon Compact feels stiff and I’m sure over time with a high enough round count it will soften up a bit but have you considered the M&P EZ? Having a deciding factor like grip strength or however you want to put it I would point you that way. Those guns are made specifically for people having a hard time with racking slides and loading mags. I haven’t tested one myself but I’ve gotten great feedback from viewers about it
lol don’t get me started on the Glock clones. I need to make a video about that. Maybe I’ll take the time and record one in my studio in the next week or two. These things are out of control
How’s a removable COG/FCU A Glock clone? If that’s the case, which its not… but obviously you don’t know jack about the echelon. But seems like you don’t know what a Glock is either. The only comparison with this and a Glock is the reliability. Maybe size and such but it’s a completely different gun. We will not talk about how it’s better. Just buy one unless u can’t afford 550$. Which I assume you can considering that’s Glock factory new prices. Unnllleeeessssss you buy Glock CLONES at 200-300$

It looks like 2025 is coming in with a bang with all these new guns...
Oh it most definitely is
Would be nice to see a versus video b/t the Echelon 4.0 and M&P compact. I really love my M&P compacts.
I think it’s a good matchup. Im working it into the filming schedule for sure
Great review! Think I’ll wait for the FDE compact comp version.
My guess is the comp versions should roll out in the spring. They will put it off till sales slow down and use it to revive sales numbers
Thank you for this! 🙏🏽
Yes, side-by-side with the M&P and the HCP would be nice. 👍🏽
Going to start working on that in the coming weeks for sure

I just got to hold this at Sportsman Warehouse yesterday. I really like the feel

I tried the grips on the Staccato's. Hated it. Over priced aluminum junk. Big Johnson YT warped the frame on his staccato. No thanks,

I'm waiting for the 4.0C Comp version, and hopefully the single side mag-release will work on this one as well (as I'm not into ambi).
I had to dig through my parts bin to find the Apex single side mag release but I found it the other day. Ill be installing it shortly
