In today's video, I wanted to show you the amount of work it takes to take care of a ferret lol. I love him so much and decided that it was time for an upgrade 😊. I DIYed the ramp covers and the covers for the first and second third level. I hope you enjoy some wholesome footage of me building this thing on my own, with some help of course😌. I'm very happy to see you got one of the best ferret cages on the market for your ferret. The Feisty Ferret cage is a very good cage if properly modified to cover up all the wire flooring and ramps, and that's exactly what you and your dad did... and a very good job at it as well! Well done! I know during the Covid Crisis it's hard to find pets, but keep looking for another ferret... a friend of the same species would be the best gift you could give to your ferret!

This was such a good diy for him !! ❤️ I just recently got my ferret a couple of weeks ago as well and I’ve been trying to look up new ways to make his cage more comfortable and warm for him since we’re going into the fall season now I’m curious to know if this cage is still available I definitely think my ferret would love even more space too !

How did u make the carpet floor? Did u stick the carpet samples onto the cardboard that u cut out?
yes that's what I did! But i split the cardboard into two sections so you can easily take it out and put it back in the cage:)

Hi! I wouldn’t recommend the other cage at all as it was very weak and too small for a ferret to be in. It was just the one petco had at the moment 😭but honestly I think you would be better off buying a bigger one at once so you don’t have to invest in another one later on.

Well I think I’ve seen some people cuddle with them but I myself haven’t done it with mine lol. He lets me pet him a lot though especially when he’s still sleepy and can stay still for a long time :)

Do u know about any ferret cage that is a lil cheaper but still good quality? Thinking of getting a ferret
I think Petco and Amazon sell similar ones and may be a bit cheaper but do keep in mind that big cages are a must because they need a lot of space! I don't recommend buying a smaller one like the one I had because they're not made for ferrets and they break down very fast. Prices are always changing so I hope you find one that fits your budget and is perfect for your ferret as well😊

Hey, I just build my ferret cage was wondering if you knew the appropriate price for the carpet you got for his cage. I was planning on doing that myself. Try to make it homie before getting my ferret. And also been looking alot, but unsure exactly what kind of food to get just curious if you could let me know what kinds food or brand you use. If you don't mind of course.
Ohhh that’s so exciting!!! And omg I got my carpet from samples at Home Depot so it was free lol 😂 and stuck then on a piece of cardboard. And I used Wysong food and he like it was great for him I bought it off chewy.com or Amazon 😊I hope that helps!🩵

paige k thank you! And he never pees on it and it’s because he knows where the bathroom is! He always comes down the stairs to do his business lol. Once you train them they’re very clean and smart and won’t randomly on the ramps!!😊

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a ferret and birds at the same time? I've wanted a ferret for a LONG time, but I already have two birds who I love a lot and they are both about six inches tall.
I'm not sure if that would work! I would do more research as they're different animals but I think if they are placed separately I think that could work. I'd still try to really organize yourself so that you have space for both!😊

Hi! Yes that’s exactly what I did! I do recommend cutting out the size of where you’ll place the carpet and then cut it in half or else it won’t go through the gate door! I hope that makes sense but I did glue it with a bunch of carpet samples 😂

I think my ferret has separation anxiety and my school allowed it that he can come with to school bc this one time he litterly almost broke his teeth while trying to open his cage cuz I went to school so now I cant even go to the bathroom alone without him coming with 🙂

I saw a ferret on the food you give him, no ferret marketed food is good for ferret I know that sounds weird, but if you can I recommend cat food with no vegies. Please consider switching :)

That kibble you have isn't recommended for ferrets. The only good kibble that has everything your ferret could need if you cannot do 100% raw is Ziwipeak. Love this video!
The top ferret food is wysong digestive support, and mixed in with a high quality cat food. Ziwipeak is known too cause bladder stones because of it having peas in the ingredients.

Thank you for your question! I don't think they smell bad yet they do have a musky smell. It's important to keep their cages clean so that the room doesn't smell but other than that they are very clean and smart animals! They do their business where you designate that are to be😊I personally don't use anything to put in their water or food because his smell is his natural smell and with time you do get used to it!! Hiii great vid, just wondering what's the smell situation like for you? I'm pretty sure ferrets come de-scented and de-sexed in stores but is the smell bad in your room? Question from a soon ferret owner :)
Hi! Tbh yes there’s a smell but it’s mainly from their poop and pee lol so as long as you keep their cage clean you won’t have a smelly room! My room doesn’t smell bad at all haha but a once in a while odor will come especially at night before I clean it again. Hope that helps! And congrats on your ferret!😊
