I demand this to be uploaded in super high quality. This was the best match I've seen in a long while. Jaw-dropping final.
Best I've ever seen Liam Pitchford play. A lot of non Chinese players are doing really well recently. If the Olympics don't get canceled, we could be in for a very exciting tournament.

Yea but still messed up that only 2 players from each country can play in singles. Ma Long, XX and FZD all deserve to play for gold.
@@genericign571 Messed up? Why? Are you Chinese that thinks the Chinese should always win? I think the 2-player rule in the Olympic singles is great because it gives players from other countries a shot at winning medals. After all, table tennis is a sport to be shared with everyone, not monopolized.
The reason that makes Olympics cancelled is the same reason that makes Chinese players so down in Qatar tournament-they have been wandering for months without truly systematic preparation.
Yep, I've wanted to say exactly the same. Gauzy, Pitchford and probably some other non Chinese contestants have obviously improved their speed and techniques. Rallies against Chinese last longer now and it doesn't feel like China undisputedly dominates the game.
Liam is playing so well. Fan zhendong just seems to have a second gear , insanity.
A new magic table tennis player. Xu Xin , S.Gauzy and now L.Pitchford and of course T.magic Boll. Liam reminds me W.Schlager. Both very smart players. The match was on the highest level in the world.
Anyone noticed they actually shook hands? Fan's respect for Liam must've been great thanks to how well he's been playing

This time the image is decent but the framerate is no good... seems that we can't have both
It looks like whoever is responsable of the ITTF TH-cam account administration, it's not a very savvy person in terms of computing, systems and so forth. Doesn't know how to edit and export a video to get the best quality.
Love the backhand styles of these players. The ball snaps across the table with such accuracy. Huge respect to both competitors.

Liam was like "what do you expect me to do after this"? He has done evertything he can. FZD is just out of this world, but non-chinese players are closing the gap and suprises with different strokes and placements.

Same could be said of Pitch!!! If Pitch somehow grew up in China under their system he would be number 1 even better or at least on par with FZD &ML for sure. ALOT of the Chinese are just drilled to perfection. Pitch is extremely natural ask any coach worth his salt. Under a system of Chinese training his fullest potential would of been realised.

Young Pitchford is a great talent.
It's really Liam's peak performance in this tournament!! He flicked to Fan's BH a lot. Fan is well prepared for it. If Liam aims for different placement he could've won.

It's really nice to see that you saw exactly what I saw. Yes, indeed! That was the sole reason for his loss in this game.
Good we all noticed that. But he indeed won points from there. Also FZ wasnt attacking straightaway from there so it wasnt a bad try. I think Liam fell short in bh shots from FZ, Defending and also his serve returns from Bh were lot of faults and then in last game he missed some forehand loops and flicks etc. Overall i loved the way liam played this tournament. Good to see all non chinese final.
With IF we can do a lot of things !!
If he hadn´t missed that serve when leading the first game, he would have won.

Fan’s speed is unbelievable. Pitchford at his best. What a match.
I think this match can go either way on a good day for both. Liam's ball placement is superb but FZD's athleticism is unreal. He was returning shots in opposite corners that very few other players would even touch. You could tell Liam wasn't used to those kind of shots being returned consistently.
Yup and he dosnt just block them back he literally counterloops them with smart angles and placement.

Great backhands from an in-form Pitchford. Two games from Fan is not shabby at all. Fan Zhendong was expected to win. No pressure on Pitchford. Fan did his job competently. Pitchford couldn't backhand block Fan's forehand loop to his backhand side. Pitchford's backhand is set up to do a quick wrist counter. Inadequate against Fan's spinny forehand loop.
