The colonials are culturally Italian/Roman and visually an amalgamation of the Soviets, Americans, British, and Italians. I don’t think anyone resembling german people even exist in the games lore. It’s just Gauls and Roman’s fighting like it’s the 4th century again

But Veli was neither Warden or Colonial to begin with. And I dont think its fair to say Veli's population is the same considering how bad we hear the original war was. This game has many facets that are not readily apreciable. I encourage people to check out the partisan community. Sophisticated partisans can do massive damage to the opponents morrale and production industry. From a pvt in a bush killing logi trucks towards squads patrolling the backline in LUV's theres alot to do.
Today I and 15 other guys went to a Russian base and stole back about 200 rare metals they stole from us. There is a coal field in the backline we don't go to because it's owned by the Russians and they shoot on sight. Russians in this game love stealing
For people who is planning to buy the game and start playing it, I recommend to play in the Charlie Shard/server because it is intended for beginners and seems like very chill server to play in. Able shard/server is where the sweaty tryhards are playing. The queue there is horrendous, but it is what considered by many "the war that counts". it is totaly different experience, which may improve or worsen your experience. But the main thing about Foxhole is to communicate, which is one of interesting main points of Foxhole.
Oof, as a vet it hurts me to see people instantly equate the factions to the axis and allies because they see the collies wearing green and something similar to a GI helmet. I play Warden and the number of times I've been called a Nazi for using our standard issue SMG (somewhat looks like an MP40) is unfortunately non-zero. If you'd like to know the irony of that, the guy saying it was holding a stick grenade. Both sides have firearms inspired from designs all over the world

What makes foxhole good in my oppinion is obviously the whole idea of the game, but also that it has that era of tech, but isn't allies vs axis like most games. With other games it becomes unbalanced because no one wants to play as the mustache man followers because they lose and were racist, but every one wants to play as the allies because no one focuses on their war crimes because they won and were less racist.
It is proxy, and everybody, even the enemy can hear you. That gives for some fun encounters. A fellow clan mate of mine was on a gunboat and the enemy could not take over until he was out of it. It was a solid 5-10 mins of negotiations. This game can be wild from time to time

What makes foxhole good in my oppinion is obviously the whole idea of the game, but also that it has that era of tech, but isn't allies vs axis like most games. With other games it becomes unbalanced because no one wants to play as the mustache man followers because they lose and were racist, but every one wants to play as the allies because no one focuses on their war crimes because they won and were less racist.

It is proxy, and everybody, even the enemy can hear you. That gives for some fun encounters. A fellow clan mate of mine was on a gunboat and the enemy could not take over until he was out of it. It was a solid 5-10 mins of negotiations. This game can be wild from time to time
Proximity, though for serious communication with a regiment or something discord is usually used
