"doesn't giles have money?" in fact, **buffy** got him a shit ton of money, just last season. remember _checkpoint_ wherein buffy demands that the council reinstate giles **retroactively** all the way back to season 3?
re: joss whedon, he's not just a producer; he's creator, showrunner, writer, and sometimes director. almost everything in the show, good and bad, comes from him.
They are trying to do something new, I think, with the big bad this season rather than just repeat the same formula, which they kind of invented, again. They do have a new showrunner in Marti Noxon as well as being on a new network.
The nerds are pretty clear about their motives. They're self-styled supervillains, Buffy is the closest thing this world has to a superhero and all good comic book heroes need arch-nemeses. Misogyny is definitely a factor, but they're mostly just dragging her into their comic book villain LARPing. It's entitlement - Buffy's real, precarious and currently miserable life is secondary to their need to feel important and cool.
"I hate them!" Right there with ya Brooke. also..."is the enemy this season misogyny?" I wouldn't say exactly the enemy but it sure is right there with these guys, mainly Warren. Yuck
Without doubt The Trio are so irritating at this point, especially Andrew. I get exactly what people saying about them at this point, as they are not lending to the seriousness of the story lines it almost seems too comedic, but we will see. As if Buffy didn't have enough to cope with, now we have these goons messing with her life. Spike bringing Buffy to the poker game for kittens brings some light relief. All in all I don't think it was a good episode.
I think it’s sweet that Spike took Buffy out for an evening of drinking and kitten poker. Lol

I've tried to not laugh at the magic bone lines, but they get me every time.
This episode 😂😅
Loved the reaction
