I fixed my power switch with some CRC 2-26 electrical lubricant spray. Unplug the Hoover, spray directly on the red power switch, flick the on/off switch several times, wait 6 hours before energizing the Hoover. Reassemble and enjoy. Excellent tutorial by the way. I enjoyed your walkthrough and learned a lot. Thank you sir.

Many years ago we vacuumed with this type of Hoover. A few days latter we kept hearing a popping sound. It came from vacuum. We vacuumed up flea eggs that hatched. I love the light turning green.

Hey vaclab! I would love to have some suggestions for how to clean vacuums! I take apart the cyclone, put it in a laundry basket, along with the hose, and other washable items. I take it in the shower, and then put dawn on the parts, scrub and rinse. Then I use a hairdryer to dry all the parts. I use method all purpose cleaner and a soft brush to clean the exterior of the vacuum. I would love to hear your methods and how I can improve!

Another one? At least this one's a Maytag era Windtunnel SP (and at the tail end going by the serial number, which is actually August of 2006 on this model). I don't imagine the performance being any different than the TTI era Anniversary model you've previously tested, the only difference I see on this besides obvious color scheme is the motor, which I argue has a much more pleasant sound than the TTI version. Thankfully the power switch was an easy fix, but that drive cable will not be easy to find/replace. I would say the only way to fix this would be to gut the Anniversary for parts and put the drive cable into it (Hoover PN: 43211019), but my spidey sense tells me that may be going in the ash-tray along with the Kenmore Intuition.

Hello from Ohio. I have the blue anniversary edition and have taken good care of it over the years. One thing that it inconsistent is the Green/ Red "clean/dirty " light. I know the flat sound sensor cover inside the hose hook up needs to be cleaned but are you aware of any other steps? The reason I ask is the red light sometimes takes forever to go out even when your not rolling the unit over a dirty area. Thanks!

I want one of these. The main rug at my mom's house is very hard to get vacuumed well. I have tried other self-propelled hoovers, and judging by the engineering of the system on these hoovers, they just might work. The ones I have been using have the old style self-propelled system that works well, but not on this rug.

I have one of these that looks similar. It’s got some issues of its own but I do love these machines. Only the self propel isn’t as smooth as a Kirby. Mine also had a broken steel cable. I find people yank them up by the handle and snap it. I tried various things to fix it but I ended up just having to replace the cable.
