    I was in the hospital for 4 months in 2017 and one of my nurses taught me how to do this. I just love it. During that time, my husband made a sewing room out of our 5th bedroom for me and I love it. There are many projects behind those doors, but I can go in there and have the best time. I don’t have to worry about cleaning it up-I just shut the door and lights off!!!!

    As far as what to do the finished flowers, I read where an senior citizen said that she helped her grandmother sew them onto a "blank canvas". She laid out a solid piece of fabric onto the floor and they literally just threw them onto the floor. Where they landed is where they were pinned down. Then Grandma appliqued them down. The lady said that Grandma appliqued them onto an already made blanket that developed worn spots or holes. Also little girls got them onto their clothes where they were badly stained or had a hole. I love those ideas but as of yet had not done it.

    I tried my hand at English Paper Piecing about 5 years ago and really liked it. Due to life getting in the way, I put my self-made kit aside after completing my first project (a small table topper) and haven't picked it back up again since. The idea of a neck light is a great idea! Love the quilt pattern you are making for your daughter. 🥰

    I've been Doing EPP since 2019 And I want to complete my second project. I love doing this & it's so much fun and relaxing. I enjoyed your video, I am threadbasting my hexies with some old that a ninety something year old lady I worked with at the company I work for had gifted to me. She still around And I think about her any time I pick up one of her Spools ofnthread that she gave me

    Christmas is a coming round the bend. Great gifts or gift tags. If it has a hexagon ornament on it, it came from "Sally". No reading required. Great for kids that help out giving gifts. Oops I forgot that gifts need a TO part lol.

    You have to be careful of these hexies , they get under your skin and you can't stop making them. Well thats what happened to me. I ended up making a pile of tiny ones and which i hand sowed onto some curtain lining and they look great, a bit like stained glass. Am a bit lost now I've finished lol

    I have been making these for years now and they are soooooooo addictive at nite when watching t.v. they multiply so quickly. be very carefull with the glue. I always did them sewing only and decided to go with the glue to speed things up. well when it came to removing the papers they were so stuck in there that it tore my hexagons apart. now I just do it the old fashoned way.

  • @jenniferlindsay6227

      No, i have stalled, LOL. I'm thinking about stopping with what I have and making a quilt with them in a bit different way. Stay tuned!

    Very interesting to see how creative you are with the hexagons. However i was just wondering what happens to the papers? Sorry i'm new and i have not done this method before. Please help. Thank you. Your daughter is sooo lucky❤

      After you put the whole quilt top together, you remove the papers and finish the quilt 👍🏻

      @@PinCutSew oh i see. Does this mean i can reuse them again? Just wondering..

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure since this is my first one, but I think they'll probably get ripped up in the process. Then again, the ones I'm using are sturdier material, so maybe some will be salvageable? @@sherryharding5792

    Good day … thanks for the tutorial.
    I’ve never done this hand sewing patchwork before … I always wanted to know …. what happens to the paper/card-stock at the back? Does it remain there? What happens when washing the item in the future?

      @PinCutSew  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You take the papers out after the quilt top is complete!

    Do you remove the paper afterwards?
    Does this technique works replacing the English paper for freezer paper?
    Thank you

    • @PinCutSew
      @PinCutSew  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The papers stay in until the entire quilt top is finished! I know some people use freezer paper, I haven't tried it.

  • @catsknit23

    You don't stitch through the paper! Just catch the corners with a couple stitches.
