    I think this is the one Jane, my one gripe with the Aeropress is that it doesn’t make a ‘proper’ sized mug of coffee lol. Having to top it up after is a pain. This one would give me a full sized mug in one go, and it looks dead easy to use and clean. I actually think I’d give up my two aeropresses and my mokka pot for one of these.

      Can't say I blame you Damon. I'm so impressed with it. Delicious coffee with zero faff!

    Enjoyed the review and love your channel. I’ve had my eye on this for a while but decided on using the Bonavita ceramic coffee maker. It also combines the immersion and pour over design but has a tab that you manually open and close to let the coffee out. I’ve been using it daily for about 4 months and love it. I’m not sure that a manual tab is any more durable than the clever coffee set up and the ceramic is heavy and would certainly break if dropped but I like it much better than plastic. It would not make a good travel device but I love it for my daily coffee.
    I haven’t tried the aero press yet. When I camp, I take a silicone cone that collapses flat and is super light and pretty indestructible that I use with a paper filter but is just a pour over design. My ideal travel device would be the base of either the clever coffee maker or bonavita with a silicone cone so it can collapse down for portability. I also would happily try either design in stainless steel.
    I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of this coffee series, really enjoying it. I love coffee ☕️💕

      Hey WN, and welcome! Will go check out the Bonavita, thanks for the heads up 😊 A few folk are talking about these silcone cones, I've got one on my list so look forward to giving it a go!

    I've been using one of these for nearly 2 years, I love it. Sometimes the filter will tear and makes your coffee a bit more 'textured' than preferred but not often.

    Another great review. I’ve been thinking of trying one of these, although now it’s got a challenger in the Hario Switch.
    Who am I kidding, I will be trying both 🤦🏻‍♂️
    However, one thing I would say is that I don’t think stainless steel would work, as metal is a very good conductor of heat so it would be difficult to maintain thermal management and the brew would cool too much. I guess a double-walled ‘thermosy’ type might work, but would be quite a bit more expensive and heavier.
    I think I may be overthinking this coffee thing a bit. 🤭

    I’m really surprised by your reaction to the appearance of the Clever Dripper. I really love the looks of the smoky, amber appearance! Amazon has been out of the clear ones but I was thrilled to order one just like yours last week. :)

    I have yet to find a coffee that I can drink black. I’m in the Pacific Northwest USA if you know of American brands that are compared to what you love please let us know. I have thoroughly enjoyed your coffee maker reviews are. And absolutely love your personality

    Another good one. Love the way you control the drip out of the bottom, and the brew time. I can’t taste the difference between the bleached and non bleached filters either. Sound and lighting good. Lighting bright. Not sure as cozy? Really enjoying these.

    Hi Jane.. great video again. You asked for opinions in your vids and what people wanted... I can only say what I want lol
    I watch for the camping cooking. I have two campers summer and winter 😂
    Cooking is a huge part of it for me. Simple one pot for minimal washing up. I have a cobb and usual camper gas stove. Not so keen on bbqing. I bake bread etc.
    Foraging is something I'd like to get into. And I'm going mostly vegie 🙊.
    You vids are great mostly because you are so watchable and natural 😊🙌
    Lighting and camera looked great X

    Are you going to be reviewing coffee bags? The thought just crossed my mind as I’m making a brew with one now. If your usual coffee brand doesn’t do them then maybe Taylor’s of Harrogate might be willing to supply you with some samples.

      Hey Stuart! Do you use coffee bags daily, or just when you're outdoors?
      I believe that Owens coffee roasters do have coffee bags, I'll grab some next time I'm up there to try 😊

      The Hedgecombers Hi Jane. We tend to use them when we fancy making a non instant coffee without the mess of using the cafetière. It occurred to me that they could be ideal for using outdoors. I also wonder how you personally would find they compare with infuser you tested in your latest video as I guess they are a similar method of making coffee.

    Hi do you have to wet the filter first

    • @hedgecomber
      @hedgecomber  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Andre! Yep, they do recommend it. They claim it washes away the paper taste and warms the coffee maker and cup too, and have to say I agree.

    I too would rather this clever drip in a stainless steel version. The paper separates the coffee grounds from the plastic but the saturated hot water surrounded by plastic is a turn-off. I don't mind the look of it and may even buy a version for the bus. But with only me, the ss French press will probably work best. I must admit, that hand grinder is impressive.

    • @hedgecomber
      @hedgecomber  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the grinder is pretty nifty. Nice and compact for the van too. Fingers crossed that Clever Dripper are following up with a stainless steel version that would be just perfect 😊
