You gotta sit down for a few days and really learn it. It wing be fast but you’ll feel good with every new thing you learn. Take notes and remember the steps you need to take and what to know about them. You can watch a few vids and make your own notes on the steps and the command buttons and options. Seems like a lot but come on guys we came this far so.. It’s good to know what to know. Done things in the last version are way easier in the new update. Take your time. Rewind the tutorials and go at your own pace then keep redoing it. It gets better! Good luck and enjoy!
Looks very promising, the price is tough, but I was really impressed... I would love to see more videos showcasing all the power of this plug-in. How good is it if a person turns, for instance?
At 1:18 you're saying, that the stabilisation of the mesh isn't perfect. Where you looking at. I didn't saw a difference. What was this exactly for? Can you explain more details? Thx in advance...
@@NathanTekaya you need to get an activation code from the website. Look in the desc and after you sign up, youll receive a code in your mail, and once in lockdown go to registration and paste it. the back lines should disappear.
I download it yesterday, and in all video I see this rectangular target for dots, but me I have a lasso how can I change that?also in the middle you this 3 blocks and in the left all the menu of lockdown but me I haven't it.im french and I need to understand 4 or 5 times the tutorial,I have the 1.4 version ,merci beaucoup
I am using the demo of lockdown. What is the best way to keep the track locked even when something fully crosses and occludes most of the subject I'm adding stuff to for several frames?
I would track it on both sides of the object, as thoroughly as possible with individual points. Once the point is occluded, I'd delete all keyframes at the first frame of occlusion, and beyond. After the shot is tracked, you can use "interpolate all partial tracks" and get a feel for how accurately it blends and estimates despite the occlusion. Another solution would be to do track in mocha for when the object crosses over, since mocha is well equipped to handle that, so long as the surface is planar. In that case, those 4 extra points from mocha could make excellent motion influences when mixed into the "interpolate all partial tracks" process. This is something I'll probably have to do a tutorial on.
@@ChrisVranos thanks! I WISH it was a planar surface, its re-decaling a motorcycle helmet because they used the wrong prop on set. Have you had better luck with the point tracker or mocha? Or is it more case by case? Either way, I've both loved using VectorDistort on jobs in Nuke, lamented that nothing else had it, and that I don't have the 3 kidneys in cost required to donate for a license of Nuke so I'm glad there is FINALLY an alternative I can afford at home. I'm quite looking forward to exploring the similarities and dissimilarities to VectorDistort and I'm using a couple work from home shots as a trial run. :)
@@GCKoerner It's definitely case by case, but I've been using Mocha since it came to Ae, so even after building our own tool, I still use Mocha constantly. For most of the shots in the demo video, I used both. Lockdown where it worked automatically and quickly, and Mocha for stubborn areas that wouldn't point track. If you're able to send the footage, feel free to link or upload it in a help ticket. aescripts.com/contact/?direc=1 (best if uncompressed for small scale details). I'd be glad to take a fast shot at tracking it, and do a screen recording of the process for you.

This is one hell of a plug in!
I'm using try version now.
But when I press the "press to track point" button, most of my selected track points disappear. What should I do?
