“Love Feels Like Loneliness”, “Shadows”, “Smoke and Fire”, and “Take off all your Cool” are some of her best. I really think her old music deserves some love ❤️❤️❤️

her having 10 years of performing experience is a huge reason why she’s getting so much more popular now, her stage presence is so iconic and you can tell how comfortable she is on stage
Yes! She’s been doing this for a long time, and she’s always been good at it. I feel like she’s just really hit her stride now with the style that’s going to make her iconic. It hurt my heart that @artatmidnight isn’t familiar with any of her older albums before “emails I can’t send”, because she’s had the same love of glamour even more in her older albums! Especially “looking at me”, “Paris“, “diamonds are forever”, and “sue me”!
The biggest reason is she wears less clothes and shakes her ass on stage more. Doesn't matter if you're a great singer, you need to look like a streetwalker too.
I think it’s because she was under a Disney contract and she’s finally gotten out of it early, had that contract of not existed I think she’d of had her breakthrough sooner maybe.
@@OpticalSorcererbut olivia never had a music contract under disney, she chose to get a contract under a different label. sabrina originally was under disneys hollywood records label.
@@OpticalSorcererlmfao Olivia would never have been able to release that album under a Disney record label 💀 especially when it was clearly sparking drama involving other Disney stars
This is such an absurd statement. When have female pop stars ever been punished for being feminine? If anything the expectation of femininity is oppressive.
The media circus pinned her as a femme fatale next to olivia's down-to-earth girl next door, and I think it was a smart decision to not necessarily lean into THAT, but lean into an adjacent you-cant-help-love-me vibe.
Sabrina is just THAT GIRL!! She deserves SO MUCH to have her main pop girl moment. Like, she's GORGEOUS (both conventionally speaking and just in general), she can sing her ass off, she can dance, she has a charming personality, she can act, like, whats not to absolutely love about her?!
Sue Me is not only my favorite Sabrina song but also one or my all time favorite songs, it's just a perfect pop anthem and it deserves entire more love
I have this attitude towards Almost Love, sometimes I forget about it but when I do remember, someone needs to pry me away from it with a crowbar because it’s SO good
I think so too. I’ve been listening to her since “eyes wide open”, but I feel like her embracing this classy, “old Hollywood”, 1950s-60s glamour is really gonna set her apart. Everyone loves how feminine she presents, but most female pop artists present pretty feminine. They just look like 21st century teenage girls. I don’t see any other pop stars leaning into “old Hollywood”. It’s going to be iconic.
The only thing i would disagree with is that Sabrina in fact is a powerhouse vocalist. If you’ve only heard EICS you wouldn’t know since she doesn’t use her entire vocal ability on it, but if you also listen to her first four albums, it helps showcase her full range as an artist.
True... Her past albums has more Vocal plays than the EICS... Almost Love, Sue Me and Smoke and Fire are good examples. For Societal Wit, there's Thumbs...
she is very similar sounding to ari (voice wise not sound wise if that makes sense) personally I think both her and ari are equal parts vocal and performer. I disagree with having ari all the way on the vocal side. Like an ariana concert is a SHOW
Thanks for this Sabrina Carpenter tribute, I'm delighted for her success. She was fantastic in "Girl Meets World", and the only decent thing about "Tall Girl."
I remember watching girl meets world a couple years ago, and being like, that girl is special, she has to be, and then she exploded! It was fun to watch
Agree with everything in this video except the part where she's not a more notable vocalist. Her albums lately haven't showcased just how talented she is vocally. One of my favorite videos of her's is her singing 'Sue Me' acapella. You can really see the true extent of her talent there and that was 5 years ago. I love that she's really coming into her own now and finding a brand that works so well for her and I hope she makes songs in the future to show off just how talented a vocalist she actually is.
I was looking for a comment like this!!!!! Her vocals are so good! I love the acapella version of Sue Me! Hearing her sing that song live was out of this world. Her live vocals are absolutely astonishing!
Agree 100%! I've been re-listening to EVOLution and was struck by how much that showcases her vocal ability compared to the last few albums. She's so talented and I'm glad she's starting to get the recognition she deserves.
Hate it when people think soft vocals mean they're not a good vocalist. Besides, I don't think Sabrina has soft vocals, she just prefers it which makes her a good vocalist because she knows how to use her voice
People are going to hate me for this comparison, but it's a fact, and it must be said. Sabrina reminds me of Marilyn Monroe. The girly, hyper feminine aesthetic, bows and ribbons, silk, sexy, glamourous, old hollywood, blonde bombshell, curled hair, glitter all of it is so girls and feminine and just reminds me of Monroe so much. I love this aesthetic and hope that Sabrina becomes this huge name that she deserves because i truly believe that she is THE pop star of this generation.
Okay, you are NOT alone in saying this, I've been saying this too. It's the whole "im the homewrecker, gentlemen prefer blondes" type of aesthetic that she started shifting too ever since the scandal with you know who. It's too early to call her a sex symbol, but the way I keep seeing her magazines spreads and instagram and ALL I see is playboy bunny and Bridgette Bardot (dare I say...anna nicole smith?). Like I just feel that we haven't had a TRUE blonde bomshell in a long time (remember the victoria secret era with Cadence and all the Y2K celebs). She even revealed in an interview she is copying these styles and emulating these cute outfits. Just one big push into that direction and I could totally see her fully embody the sweet, yet sexy Marilyn Monroe aesthetic, since Marilyn despite her status, was a total sweetheart and Sabrina is very magnetic and sweet as well.
Agreed! It made me so sad that @artatmidnight said that she’s only familiar with “emails I can’t send”, because her other albums have so much more glamour and “look at me, I know I’m sexy“ songs, which I love way more than breakup songs. She’s just leaning much more heavily into the “old Hollywood” glamorous aesthetic now, and I think it’s suits her so well. That’s what’s going to make her iconic in a whole new way from now on.
I adore her aesthetic. Obviously artists can curate any image and style they want and that's totally valid, but it's nice to have an unapologetically pink, glam and girly pop star in the mainstream again
sue me, paris, middle of starting over, eyes wide open, almost love, why, and i cannot stress this enough HONEYMOON FADES are some of my fav songs from other albums! definitely check the albums out tho theyre so good! sabrina was such a big part of my childhood on disney, its so amazing to see how well shes doing rn!!
“She isn’t really a vocal powerhouse” I was so confused but then you mentioned you’ve only listened to Emails I can’t Send and it made sense to me why you think that. Sabrina definitely one of THE vocalist of this up coming generation of singers. I HIGHLY recommend checking out her previous album “Singular act II” which is more rnb-pop album, I also recommend checking out “Honeymoon Fades”, which in my opinion, is her best song off her discography. I think in that single and album really shows off her vocals!
Agreed! It makes me so sad that @artatmidnight said she’s only familiar with “emails I can’t send”! It’s by far my least favorite of her albums. She shows off so much more vocal prowess in her other albums, and they’re full of powerhouse, “look at me, I’m sexy and I know it, I’m a gem” songs, which I love so much more than breakup songs.
honestly, I think she lands right in the middle of the pop princess positioning matrix. She is amazing at singing, I love her riffs and how she changes up her songs every time she sings them, and she has amazing stage presence. She also sets trends, but her music videos have a message, and she also is a good songwriter. That's just my opinion though.
I knew she’d ‘made it’ when there’s girls dressing & looking exactly like her similar to the Ariana copycats. It shows she’s really on her way to becoming a pop icon, amongst lots of other things this is the one that stood out to me. She’s finally got her own brand & iconic look.
I have been following her career since Girl Meets World and I'm ecstatic to see how far she has come. She has been underrated for too long and absolutely deserves her success ❤ I think changing her label was very beneficial for her.
I was really impressed by her at my eras tour show - the stage is GIGANTIC and she is so tiny, yet she totally owned the stage! I didn't know her music before but I started listening consistently and now I'm obsessed. I totally agree that she is a natural performer. Her voice sounded great, and even though people were still arriving/getting to their seats/etc, you could see that everyone was looking at her. I've seen some people say she shouldn't have been an opening act 4 (5?) albums in, but I really think it was a good thing for her career, it introduced her music to so many people. She deserves all the success!
@@artatmidnightPlease listen to her other albums. She is better as a vocalist in her past albums... "Honeymoon Fades" is the most recommended but "Almost Love", "Smoke and Fire" are good testaments to her vocal range. Not as high and challenging as Dove Cameron's or Sofia Carson's but competitive enough...
I think a huuuge advantage of her being under the radar for so long is "authenticity". People can look back to her very beginnings and see for themselves that her aesthetic isn't some new marketing gig but just her being herself with the style she always loved
She’s stereotypically a pop singer (and I mean that in a positive way). She holds the traits of previous big stars like Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, etc. A lot of her peers in her generation lack performance abilities or production. I feel like many people continue to judge her and say her music isn’t versatile (or good) but she truly has a pop star package. She can sing, perform, and create a unique identity around her music. I think people just have a certain image of her based on previous scandals which is messed up because what does that have to do with her music. She has such an amazing catalog if people tried to listen to it. I’m so happy she is finally get her recognition, and even if it took a while, you can tell she has worked so hard to get to this point. I’m rooting for her!!
These comments are all from her fans. I don't shes underrated at all, shes been working in the music industry for literally years and hasnt reached the level of success like the other main pop girls. There is nothing unique about her to the public outside of her fanbase sorry. She just doesn't have that wow factor and her music is pretty generic. Comparing her to incredibly talented artists such as Mariah and Britney is an insult. She holds none of their traits. Her stage presence is good but her songs are generic. Most of her peers are actually more talented than she is thats why they have more success especially international success, but she lacks that. The only reason she is in the spotlight is because all the other pop divas stepped out including Ariana who btw she loves copying and "Ariana 2.0" is the biggest joke ive heard from a fan. There is no comparison, Ariana is a legend and an actual vocal powerhouse. She will never take her place and she will never take the title of "pop princess" that my friend will forever be Britney! Lets face it Sabrina Carpenter isn't pop princess material and her status proves it. She should be bigger than she is but she's not because her music is mediocre and boring and most importantly she does not have the "IT Factor". Something every main pop girl has. Its why she's not a huge success like all the other pop divas before her, and that's the reality. I'm not saying shes bad but shes nowhere near the best like the other main pop girlies. Nothing personal but continue listening and being a fan, nothing wrong with that.
@@persianxprincess after reading your comment, i felt like you deserved more than a shady "too long didn't read" response. so much to unpack here but i'm gonna try and do it anyway :) no one is saying sabrina will overtake britney/mariah/ariana/etc. when people compliment her and compare her to other talented artists, they're just admiring her stage presence/voice. also, "pop princess" is a term that is ever changing. it doesn't need to belong to one person. a ton of external factors have impacted sabrina's career. she's been releasing music since she was a young teen, but her last label offered little to no promo and focus on her growth. she was a disney kid when disney channel was becoming less relevant in pop culture. i do understand where you're coming from with the generic sounding music. i think 2020 onward has held a lot of growth for sabrina, both personally and as an artist. emails i can't send isn't perfect, but it's a good start in the right direction. espresso is more generic but it still has done well in establishing the sound and marketing angle she wants to do moving forward. if sabrina has no semblance of an "it factor," then why were her nonsense outros going viral before taylor swift invited her to open for the eras tour? why are people suddenly copying her makeup look and marketed style? a part of it does come from the recent excitement around anything taylor and a growing desire to hop onto a trend, but then why aren't other young openers associated with taylor going viral like this? (this is no shade to any of them, they are all so talented and i enjoy hearing their work!) none of this is an attack against you or your views on this artist, i just saw your comment and wanted to share some of my own thoughts. have a great week!
I admire how POLISHED she looks! Like she looks like she is already has been a world star for years! She seems so in her role and she doesn't try to have like crazy poetic lyrics or anything. She is just unapologetically Pop Barbie!
You said that she isn’t a powerhouse vocalist and I was like oh no she must not have heard early Sabrina music and then you said you only listened to EICS and I was yeah that checks out. I recommend songs like sue me, diamonds are forever, exhale, feels like loneliness, on purpose, shadows, take you back, tell ‘em, eyes wide open and smoke and fire. They are amazing and show off her vocal and songwriting abilities
I ADORE SABRINA and so to see her finally get the appreciation is amazing. But her visuals are incredible omg, like the outfit she wears and the 4 most recent music videos are really setting her up as an artist 😍 it's so girly and fun and energetic yet current and there's a future for her branding, it's so personal yet achievable and seeing her live, it really brings her branding and music into a 360 experience and i think that's where she thrives 🤩 ugh i'm so excited for more sabrina
I love this breakdown. I haven’t felt excited about a pop girlie in awhile. Of course I am still rooting for Normani but Sabrina Carpenter is giving it girl! Her look, the girly aesthetic, the feel good fun pop songs is what we have been missing! Can’t wait to see her success.
sabrina has an undeniable chokehold on popculture since she went on her emails i can‘t send tour. i‘m not a fan of her, i enjoy her singles but i don‘t listen to her actively but she is a fantastic performer. she‘s really good at the bimbo thing and i love how unapologetically confident she is and i think that makes her a great role model for girls and women everywhere. i can‘t stop thinking about her coachella nonsense outro where she says ‚see you back here when i headline‘, that is the level of confidence i aspire to. also love how she‘s just chilling in a chair in her jesus was a carpenter shirt, iconic.
yesssss omg more of these videos! one thing i think will go a little under-appreciated is just how good the directing & editing is on her newer music videos, you can clearly tell everyone on board with the project understood the assignment; not a single moment, person or visual appears out of place. espresso is SO impressive & would fit so so perfectly in a movie imo (especially w her self-aware sense of humour). by herself she’s charismatic and easy to root for, but with the art being as good as it is she’s making herself unforgettable and I LOVE ITTT
It fustrates me so much when I read people say "she hasn't found her sound yet" "she is finally finding her sound" when all of her recent hits "Nonsense" "Feather" and "Espresso" sound like they could be in Singular Act 1 and 2. She already has found her sound years ago! But people were too busy sleeping on her. Whenever I hear someone jamming to Sabrina's new music, I always recommend them Singular Act 1 and 2. I think THAT was her pop perfection era with absolutely everything the vocals, live performances, tour, songs, everythingg! (If onlyy, if only she wasn't stuck in that Dipshit label and it got the promotion it deserved) I think I'm single handedly promoting it more than Hollywood records ever did. Also the ONLY complain I have with the Singular Act songs is why are they so short 😭😭😭
yes to literally all of that. She's so purely pop. She's talented, a brilliant performer (which is really rare), and has such a beautiful voice!!! thanks so much for covering her, she needs to be talked about more. Love your videos!!
To be very I agree, she lacks in dancing but her songwriting and theatrics in the concerts alone, make up for it! It’s kinda saddening when I see ppl hating on her dancing instead of focusing on the greater image and especially her songwriting
@@Prongsletmoony Exactly like taylor swift was NEVER a dancer so why are people even expecting that from her lol. She's a singer-song writer not some kpop idol.
@Dev-cw7cn Yeah, I agree with you. I also think that despite her massive fan base saying she sings amazing, her vocals aren't her strong suit. The music and production really pull their weight to counteract all vocal flaws.
@@minivan1680 honestly i think it just depends on what you want in a singer. i prefer her style of singing to other kinds bc it feels more emotionally charged. for example the bridge of sad beautiful tragic or her delivery in champagne problems.
I feel like it’s more that she chooses not to be. She’s capable, sure, but she’s leaned a lot into the low, breathy singing style bc it serves her beautifully. It gives modern Marilyn Monroe and it’s stunning and arresting.
I became a fan of Sabrina with her album Singular Act I, the singles, the songs, they are all so GOOD. The Singular era just screams confidence and dgaf energy
I ADORE Singular act I & II from her, as a rnb hip hop pop girlie, and she serves VOCALS on there. High notes in the back and delightful runs on so many songs. I love eics but i’m not really a sad girl and singular just is perfection in my eyes. totally recommend it. My personal faves aren’t that popular but carpenters love exhale, the vocals on diamonds are forever and sue me are everything, and we get some gorgeous falsetto on bad time. But the whole albums (albums?) are stunning. skin i know you mentioned but she has really pretty vocals in that too, i think she’s just a great vocalist OH and honeymoon fades is so gorgeous it’s not even funny, that quick spoken verse two and her impeccable vocals in the chorus. A fan favourite and for good reason As a carpenter, when you put sabrina all the way to the right i was really shocked actually, but i get you’re a casual fan edit: oh my god i forgot fruitcake christmas ep!! “buy me presents” and “is it new years yet?” are BOPS and she sounds gorgeous on slower tracks like “santa doesn’t know you like i do”
started listening because of Nonsense, stayed and listened to emails I can't send, fell in love with her performances, and REALLY fell in love with Espresso and her performance of it at Coachella! I love her sm and hope she gets all the recognition she deserves!!
You should listen to Chappel Roan’s album, the rise and fall of a midwest princess. It’s no skips good. She is like lady gaga meets Kate Bush. Her producer is Dan Nigro who is also Olivia Rodrigo’s producer and she is on the same label as Sabrina. She is exploding right now. She opened for olivia, did npr tiny desk, went viral for her coachella performance, and has been moved to the big stages in festivals she had booked months ago due to her sudden increase in popularity.
I think she's starting to show us her more visionary side with espresso and please, please, please they're clearly together meant to be watched back to back, she's definitely cooking for her upcoming album
Also I think one of the things that have really hooked people is her sense of humour and how she brings that into her music, with the nonsense outros or the fork line - like she's hilarious and in every interview as well she seems like the nicest, most person ever
Im OBSESSED with her Coachella look and ive been in my platform era and i love seeing them, giving 2000s era. And OMG espresso is so boppy. I agree it needs to be longer
just recently discovered her musically through Expresso and I gotta say this video was perfect for filling me in on more of who she is/was, i always knew she was an actor, but had no clue she was a popstar til now
I love her aesthetic! Shes giving me 60s bombshell, pin up girl, IT girl, shes also giving me polly pocket or bratz doll. Her aesthetic is so feminine i love it
listen to her other albums definitely!! and you'll realise how much potential she has in being a vocal powerhouse as well, and I think that was her initial direction of branding

First w Sophia the First, then Girl Meets world, then Babysitter's Adventures, and even hate u give, she was my CHILDHOOD (besides sophia the first, ill be honest i only know of that one because people started bring it up after gmw fans started bringing that up)
Love that you made the positioning matrix! Helps map it out visually. I definitely felt we've been missing out on a lot in the recent landscape after Rihanna, Katy and Gaga became less prominent and this sums it up well!!!
i love this girl so much i'm so happy she's getting her spot in the light i remember being obsessed with "thumbs" and "sue me" back when i was younger, when they came out
omg i'd love a madison beer video !! i've also been thinking about what her style seems to be, and it's getting pretty recognizable : glamorous, old hollywood, princess-like, but then with a modern, sometimes even futuristic vibe. i don't think she gets enough credits for her AMAZING songs and visuals
Yes please, I know Madison has a strong fanbase, but she's been an enigma to me because she's never had a mainstream hit that I've heard. I still associate her with Monster High, though I know she has really grown since then 😅 Sabrina & Madison are mostly main Gen Z/early A memories, so I don't recognize either of them as easily. It's refreshing!
Sabrina is a Bratz doll come to life. The tiny skirts, stand out looks and chunky shoes, coupled either with her features, hair and makeup, she is really doing the thing by pushing on the Bratz doll aesthetic, because this is acc a perfect era to do it. We’re very much approaching this fun era of maximalism-meets-minimalism in fashion, where the small but bombastic outfits are in. It plays a lot on the previous trends that came in in the recent 20s, the vintage and individualist Y2K styles, by updating and modernising them in small ways. And I feel like it’s a perfect play on the zeitgeist to be entirely individual, but referential and clever. Play that off with her wit and intelligence in songwriting, you have the perfect pocket sized powerhouse popstar.
THIS IS SO EXCITING OMG i’ve been with her since sofia the first i feel so old but it’s literally so exciting to see where she’s going and how far she’s come :’)
I actually didn't find out about Sabrina through her music, but rather when she made her broadway debut as Cady Heron in Mean Girls on Broadway, which then led me to get into her music over the pandemic. I so wish she could have played Cady in the MG musical movie
I definitely recommend her album EVOLution, all the songs are great and my personal favs are On Purpose, Thumbs and Space. But as someone who has been listening to her basically since the beguinning i recommend her full doscografy like "Two Young Hearts" and "Eyes Wide Open" are sooo good
After seeing her perform on the eras tour, I immediately became a fan. Her personality and stage presence definitely makes her a STAR. And now I m a loyal stan❤

Yes. Sabrina’s been Queening for AGES. 🔥 Even her Disney music is great. EVOLution, Singular era - masterpieces. The latest album Emails I Can’t Send fwd: is marvelous, with her finally getting her full creative & personal freedom (she had to “unlearn how to write songs to learn to write them her-way”. And she’s a great actress too ❤️ I’m glad the world’s waking up to her as the only thing she didn’t have is Enough Exposure ❤️🔥
omg i’m smiling so much thru the whole video, i’ve been a sabrina stan for years now and to see people finally giving her well deserved long due flowers brings me so much joy. she deserves every bit of success she can get for she has been putting with so much shit a couple years ago, the internet and the media were so cruel to her, so for her to actually get out of that with such grace and dignity and being so hardworking and consistent and people paying attention and being nice to her for once makes me so emotional 🥹🥹🥹 so proud of her 💖💖

Been following Sabrina's music carer since her debut and I am glad Taylor's impact is starting to show in the success of Espresso after giving her the coveted position of opening for the Eras Tour when you look at how moderately well Nonsense did on the charts before the tour.

i saw her live on august 26th at mexico city, at the time i wasn’t a fan of her, but i just melted the moment she said “hi mexico”, and now im so mad i didn’t appreciate her enough at the time
Watching her growth as an artist has been so satisfying. I really believe she should’ve had a big breakthrough years earlier but I’m just glad she’s finally reached to this level of fame. She’s worked so hard, starting since she was a kid. She’s got incredibly powerful vocals, does choreo, has had iconic outfits, a cute hairstyle and makeup routine that everyone wants and her years of stage presence that definitely shows. She’s the complete pop star package! Proud doesn’t even come close to how I feel!!! She’s only going to keep rising from here on out! Also excited for her acting projects and hopefully she gets another shot at broadway cause that was short lived and she deserves her chance to shine.
soooo, her older projects are definitely a lot different from "emails i cant send" but some of my favorites are Honeymoon Fades, Take You Back, Take Off All Your Cool, Bad Time, Diamonds Are Forever - I could go on foreverrr LOL but those ones are def worth a listen
ik this video is a month old but she does have some songs where i’d say she does show off some “powerhouse” vocals (check out sue me and diamonds are forever) and i would highly recommend singular acts I and II
I was here since her Disney days & the the release of her first ep. I truly loved their sweetness and hope. I think I drifted away after loving ‘Thumbs’ as I got into kpop but seeing her get the attention she deserves makes me so happy. I never listen to Eng language pop anymore but I have such a soft spot for the girl you can’t blame for trying 🥰
I think it was a blessing that she didn’t blow up with her first few albums . Being able to practice in smaller venues building up confidence with performing definitely helped .

Her dating drama, wkwk
her ex-boyfriend's ex
Sue Me is not only my favorite Sabrina song but also one or my all time favorite songs, it's just a perfect pop anthem and it deserves entire more love
Also the music video is so iconic and definitely was inspired by legally blonde which is so so cool!
I 💯 agreeeeee
Love Sue Me!!!
I have this attitude towards Almost Love, sometimes I forget about it but when I do remember, someone needs to pry me away from it with a crowbar because it’s SO good
I feel like Espresso is gonna be that moment for Sabrina, I mean, is giving 'that girl' energy you know
I think so too.
Can confirm, honestly it might be the song of the summer
so many ppl hate on it though! i feel bad :(
A month later, you were exactly right! Song of the summer and the season has only just started
@@bigbackthe30thwhy do people hate on it?😭
The only thing i would disagree with is that Sabrina in fact is a powerhouse vocalist.
Listen to Honeymoon Fades! Fabulous vocals
This!
she is very similar sounding to ari (voice wise not sound wise if that makes sense) personally I think both her and ari are equal parts vocal and performer. I disagree with having ari all the way on the vocal side. Like an ariana concert is a SHOW
Sabrina def has a lot more vocal ability ! Her recent popular albums DONT showcase it which is rly upsetting try looking at songs like sue me
Thanks for this Sabrina Carpenter tribute, I'm delighted for her success. She was fantastic in "Girl Meets World", and the only decent thing about "Tall Girl."
I forgot she was in tall girl! she has come so far 🥲
My kid loved Tall Girl when it came out, and the only good part was Sabrina and the parents.
I remember watching girl meets world a couple years ago, and being like, that girl is special, she has to be, and then she exploded! It was fun to watch
ur literally everywhere omg
I SEE YOU LITERALLY EVERYWHERE
Agree with everything in this video except the part where she's not a more notable vocalist. Her albums lately haven't showcased just how talented she is vocally. One of my favorite videos of her's is her singing 'Sue Me' acapella. You can really see the true extent of her talent there and that was 5 years ago. I love that she's really coming into her own now and finding a brand that works so well for her and I hope she makes songs in the future to show off just how talented a vocalist she actually is.
THIS!!!!
And don't forget HONEYMOON FADES!!!
You're right!!
They have the same body type.
Oh my god honeymoon fades is one of my favorite skngs by her
HONEYMOON FADES UGHH that was really the start for me of her glow up era
YES
Yes!! People need to listen to her older albums they’re so freaking good and it’s sucks she’s not as famous as she should be she has an amazing voice
I’ve had honeymoon fades on my Spotify playlists for years and never new who she was. I thought she was just some underground artist
HONEYMOON FADES IS THEEEEEEEEE SONGGGG
honestly, I think she lands right in the middle of the pop princess positioning matrix.
She has been underrated for too long and absolutely deserves her success ❤
I think changing her label was very beneficial for her.
I cut my bangs and after putting them in a curler, i immediately went "why do I have sabrina carpenter bangs???" like, if that doesn't say ENOUGH lmao
if you don't believe that sabrina is a powerhouse singer, I really recommend listening to Singular Act I and II, because girl can SINGG
its true like diamonds are forvever. unfortunately big singing isnt trendy so switched her style
@@Adaobieistyping frrr and it's so unfair!
i'm so happy Sabrina is gaining more love! 🩷
and she deserves every last bit of it!
@@artatmidnight I fully agree!
@@persianxprincess okay. I’m not reading all that but I’m happy for you tho or sorry that happened.
@@persianxprincess after reading your comment, i felt like you deserved more than a shady "too long didn't read" response. so much to unpack here but i'm gonna try and do it anyway :)
no one is saying sabrina will overtake britney/mariah/ariana/etc. when people compliment her and compare her to other talented artists, they're just admiring her stage presence/voice. also, "pop princess" is a term that is ever changing. it doesn't need to belong to one person.
a ton of external factors have impacted sabrina's career. she's been releasing music since she was a young teen, but her last label offered little to no promo and focus on her growth. she was a disney kid when disney channel was becoming less relevant in pop culture.
i do understand where you're coming from with the generic sounding music. i think 2020 onward has held a lot of growth for sabrina, both personally and as an artist. emails i can't send isn't perfect, but it's a good start in the right direction. espresso is more generic but it still has done well in establishing the sound and marketing angle she wants to do moving forward.
if sabrina has no semblance of an "it factor," then why were her nonsense outros going viral before taylor swift invited her to open for the eras tour? why are people suddenly copying her makeup look and marketed style? a part of it does come from the recent excitement around anything taylor and a growing desire to hop onto a trend, but then why aren't other young openers associated with taylor going viral like this? (this is no shade to any of them, they are all so talented and i enjoy hearing their work!)
none of this is an attack against you or your views on this artist, i just saw your comment and wanted to share some of my own thoughts. have a great week!
@@jp42293 I love you for this cause tht other comment was so ew lol
I ❤ SUE ME
both sabrina and madison are such POP PRINCESSES im so obsessed w their whole look, vibe and music
Also the ONLY complain I have with the Singular Act songs is why are they so short 😭😭😭
i love the dipshit reference
yes to literally all of that. She's so purely pop. She's talented, a brilliant performer (which is really rare), and has such a beautiful voice!!! thanks so much for covering her, she needs to be talked about more. Love your videos!!
Lmao the note about Taylor’s dancing in that graph sent me
To be very I agree, she lacks in dancing but her songwriting and theatrics in the concerts alone, make up for it!
@@minivan1680 honestly i think it just depends on what you want in a singer. i prefer her style of singing to other kinds bc it feels more emotionally charged. for example the bridge of sad beautiful tragic or her delivery in champagne problems.
she is ver monotone and has limited range... @@ttw4s
She’s adorable, capable, and well seasoned. So great seeing an artist like this getting her due!
'she's not a powerhouse singer'
Girl have you ever listened to the acapella version of sue me?!?!
I feel like it’s more that she chooses not to be. She’s capable, sure, but she’s leaned a lot into the low, breathy singing style bc it serves her beautifully. It gives modern Marilyn Monroe and it’s stunning and arresting.
my fave album from her is singular act 1, its one of my absolute no skip albums, all of those songs flow so well aaah
TASTE!! so much taste
ME TOO ITS SO SO GOOD
I became a fan of Sabrina with her album Singular Act I, the singles, the songs, they are all so GOOD. The Singular era just screams confidence and dgaf energy
YES SINGULAR IS SO GOOD AHHH
I ADORE Singular act I & II from her, as a rnb hip hop pop girlie, and she serves VOCALS on there. High notes in the back and delightful runs on so many songs. I love eics but i’m not really a sad girl and singular just is perfection in my eyes. totally recommend it. My personal faves aren’t that popular but carpenters love exhale, the vocals on diamonds are forever and sue me are everything, and we get some gorgeous falsetto on bad time. But the whole albums (albums?) are stunning.
skin i know you mentioned but she has really pretty vocals in that too, i think she’s just a great vocalist
OH and honeymoon fades is so gorgeous it’s not even funny, that quick spoken verse two and her impeccable vocals in the chorus. A fan favourite and for good reason
As a carpenter, when you put sabrina all the way to the right i was really shocked actually, but i get you’re a casual fan
edit: oh my god i forgot fruitcake christmas ep!!
Yayyy I love Chappell 🫶
I think she's starting to show us her more visionary side with espresso and please, please, please they're clearly together meant to be watched back to back, she's definitely cooking for her upcoming album
Also I think one of the things that have really hooked people is her sense of humour and how she brings that into her music, with the nonsense outros or the fork line - like she's hilarious and in every interview as well she seems like the nicest, most person ever
Im OBSESSED with her Coachella look and ive been in my platform era and i love seeing them, giving 2000s era. And OMG espresso is so boppy. I agree it needs to be longer
just recently discovered her musically through Expresso and I gotta say this video was perfect for filling me in on more of who she is/was, i always knew she was an actor, but had no clue she was a popstar til now
There's a video like this about every new pop artist
Love Sabrina and I love that she's blowing up! You were so spot on with this analysis.
She is also very vocally talented and has a great range. Her acoustic covers with her guitarist Caleb are my comfort videos.
I love her aesthetic! Shes giving me 60s bombshell, pin up girl, IT girl, shes also giving me polly pocket or bratz doll. Her aesthetic is so feminine i love it
Olivia Rodrigo is a vocalist! NOT just a trendsetter. She is vocally gifted and a songwriter along with being a great performer.
🎯
Yep
listen to her other albums definitely!! and you'll realise how much potential she has in being a vocal powerhouse as well, and I think that was her initial direction of branding
omgfggggg im shaking YOU ACTUALLY DID IT
omg you're so quick!! this isn't a super deep analysis like the Ari one, but thought it was a great idea to talk about her so thank you for the suggestion! 🫶🩷
@@artatmidnight yoooo when i said i am a legit stan of yours -i MEANT IT... nah it's all good ...i genuinely am grateful your appreciating her especially since she has been fighting for so long for this
17:27 Yes! She was an actress before her pop star era!
I definitely felt we've been missing out on a lot in the recent landscape after Rihanna, Katy and Gaga became less prominent and this sums it up well!!!
i love this girl so much i'm so happy she's getting her spot in the light
i remember being obsessed with "thumbs" and "sue me" back when i was younger, when they came out
omg i'd love a madison beer video !! i've also been thinking about what her style seems to be, and it's getting pretty recognizable : glamorous, old hollywood, princess-like, but then with a modern, sometimes even futuristic vibe. i don't think she gets enough credits for her AMAZING songs and visuals
Yes please, I know Madison has a strong fanbase, but she's been an enigma to me because she's never had a mainstream hit that I've heard. I still associate her with Monster High, though I know she has really grown since then 😅
Sabrina & Madison are mostly main Gen Z/early A memories, so I don't recognize either of them as easily. It's refreshing!
Her nonsense Christmas song is in my regular playlist, it’s so good!!! 😭
i love love love girly pop music, and i’m so grateful that she’s there to provide.
my girl finally getting the recognition she always deserve
I’m literally obsessed with her 🥹
I always adored her when I was young and seeing her be so successful and unique now is amazing. She is honestly irreplaceable.
Been a fan since her first album, so I'm incredibly glad to see her getting more love
She played Cady Heron in Mean girls the musical before, so that's why she is good at acting and is so well on stage.
This video encapsulates why Sabrina is such a rising star. I would love a Madison Beer video! I also love your Singer Association Scale.
Great video! Also, you’re prbly gonna need to do a Chappell Roan video soon as well. She is the other It Girl that is slaying Pop right now.
Sabrina is adorable! I didn’t know about her until the eras toured I loved her. She had fun, was cute, good voice. She has her own style. She is just awesome 😊
Yes. Sabrina’s been Queening for AGES. 🔥
Even her Disney music is great.
EVOLution, Singular era - masterpieces.
The latest album Emails I Can’t Send fwd: is marvelous, with her finally getting her full creative & personal freedom (she had to “unlearn how to write songs to learn to write them her-way”.
And she’s a great actress too ❤️
I’m glad the world’s waking up to her as the only thing she didn’t have is Enough Exposure ❤️🔥
she is so deserving of all her success! I need to listen to her earlier albums more but I absolutely adore emails I can't send 💌
been on this band-wagon since eyes wide open and i am SO here for her recognition
I’ve been listening to her music since 2016, I knew she will be a huge pop star after disney
omg i’m smiling so much thru the whole video, i’ve been a sabrina stan for years now and to see people finally giving her well deserved long due flowers brings me so much joy. she deserves every bit of success she can get for she has been putting with so much shit a couple years ago, the internet and the media were so cruel to her, so for her to actually get out of that with such grace and dignity and being so hardworking and consistent and people paying attention and being nice to her for once makes me so emotional 🥹🥹🥹 so proud of her 💖💖
Sabrina is "Pop Star Barbie" and I'm totally here for it. Love this girl!
So happy to see you making SO many videos! We absolutely love Sabrina so much, if you ever get the chance it would be interesting to see you do a video on blackpink with their huge global appeal and music videos and fashion influence.
I agree with most but I think she is a power house vocalist because she can definitely go there. more than a lot of new pop girl
Thank you for this video on Sabrina! She’s come a long way from her Disney Channel days and I’m so happy for her! I can’t wait to see what Sabrina does next’
Maybe you should also talk about Tyla? I know she's more of a trend setter but she's also really good!
I love fast times so much and Sabrina is just that girl and deserves so much and the nonsense outro is so genius
Her song "Smoke and Fire" is the song that got me to fall in love with her when I was in school a few years ago
Totally agree! Obsessed!!! I feel like this week she was every where: Coachella, skims & I’m here for it!
Such a fun video! Thanks for making such a cute and entertaining and enjoyable video! You sound like you had lots of fun with this one! Glad you are alive and doing well! ❤
I love her gradual RISE! and Finally she is now seen on top!
I love her stuff and i can’t wait to see what else she does
Been following Sabrina's music carer since her debut and I am glad Taylor's impact is starting to show in the success of Espresso after giving her the coveted position of opening for the Eras Tour when you look at how moderately well Nonsense did on the charts before the tour.
I love your videos so much it’s not even funny anymore😅😅
So happy that you covered Sabrina, I would ADORE if you analysed more pop girlies, you’re so good at it!!
i saw her live on august 26th at mexico city, at the time i wasn’t a fan of her, but i just melted the moment she said “hi mexico”, and now im so mad i didn’t appreciate her enough at the time
Watching her growth as an artist has been so satisfying.
I’ve been waiting for my girls to get her flowers and the recognition she deserves! I love to see it!
ik this video is a month old but she does have some songs where i’d say she does show off some “powerhouse” vocals (check out sue me and diamonds are forever) and i would highly recommend singular acts I and II
If Sabrina has no fans I’m not alive anymore. I love the new queen of pop so much.❤
I missed that feeling that 2000’s pop music gave me, and although her music is different, it’s giving me that happiness I was craving
i would recommend her album singular: act I !! great video
thank you!! 💛 do you have any favourite songs of that album?
@@artatmidnight i’d recommend sue me, prfct, paris, diamonds are forever & mona lisa!
I think it was a blessing that she didn’t blow up with her first few albums . Being able to practice in smaller venues building up confidence with performing definitely helped .
i would like to argue chappell roan is a revolutionary for our generation, she’s fucking amazing
Her songwriting is awesome, especially writing original Nonsense outros for every stop on her tour.
sabrina is our new taylor swift
don’t do sabrina like that she can actually sing
