Love this, thanks Meghan! I do believe "right?" Is the new "umm". Trying to not let it bug me...but it is irritating...right?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I needed this very much. It gives me insight and tools I have needed for a long time. I have known the principles but have had a hard time implementing. Just like everyone else I know more than I do. But this gives me hope and and a tangible thing to refer to when I get stuck. I so appreciate the wisdom and insights as well as the time you both have taken for this very well done video

To add to my above comment, regarding the idea of redeeming are dead through breaking generational bonds, is that really a way to actually think of doing family history work? This is a fascinating concept for me that I would like to understand more because I have struggled so much with understanding how to do family history. It seems that every place I go to get help doesn't really help. I made a promise to God that I would do my family history. Do you think I would be justified in going this route instead of the regular computer, searching, submitting stuff?

What drives you to move so much? I think constant moving can be disruptive to a child’s development and psyche . I think a family and a stable home (the physical home) is very important. That’s just my opinion.

@@lddisciplespodcast ok it seems like a lot of moves for a family. I guess if there’s a reason. I just witnessed how frequent moving can be disruptive. Every situation is different. Maybe in your case it’s no big deal.

Your point regarding generational flaws…..”the sins of the fathers are visited unto the fourth generation” speaks to genetic inheritance, as well as environments we are raised in. Both nature (inherited) and nurture (environment) have big impacts on our personalities. Through in toxins from food, air, water, friends, music, media, etc. and “environment” becomes incredibly impactful. Thank heaven we have the gospel to help us ascend from our fall. What a journey, eh?

I came to the realization many years ago that the initial justification of a person through the atonement of Jesus Christ and His command of faith, repentance, baptism into the Lord's restored Church, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost sets us on the road back to our Heavenly Father. However, as we sin again, we take ourselves out of the justified state until we sincerely repent to once again access that justified state that the Savior offers.
Sanctification is the process of walking hand in hand with the Savior to become more like Him over time and lessen our time in an unjustified state by burning the natural man from our psyche, learning better choices, and adjusting our sight towards that of the Godhead members. Of course we can try to walk the sanctification road ourselves, but that doesn't work very well.
