    Just acquired my late grandfather’s Hi-Matic C. Lots of memories with that camera. Lots of road trips, Holidays. Displaying it here in my home.

    I found one on ebay untested for 27 and some change. I received it and everything works even the light meter. I am so beyond happy...

    Please improve your audio quality! It's the only issue, the videos are really good.

    When i click the green button it doesn't go all the way in and the lens doesnt come out, i also cant move the film advancer. Theres no film of battery in it does that affect it?

    What kind of battery do you use?

    Great video, thanks for sharing. I bought one of these from ebay which seems in good working order, only things i have noticed are the needle in the viewfinder moves, but doesnt go past 2.7. And it came with a Renata LR 44 battery will that do that trick?

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, if the needle is staying at f2.7 it means that the meter is not working
      Originally it ran on the now banned 1.35v batteries, LR44 or SR44 batteries will work but might give exposure errors, check the meter and adjust ASA/ISO setting to compensate, check the battery voltage or replace the battery to rule it out of the equation, if the meter still does not work then the camera has an issue, come back if still having problems....

      @@thephotographersbag Thanks for your reply, extremely helpful. I found out the needle is, in fact, working perfectly I had just forgotten to insert the battery... will be in touch if there are any issues. Looking forward to developing these. Thanks for your time and expertise.

    Hello, hope you have a great day, I recentely acquired a Hi matic C, exactly the same model that you are showing, but I have a little problem with it and I was wondering if you could help me fix it. The thing is that I don´t see the needle in the viewfinder.

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, the fact that you don't see the needle implies a power issue, check the battery compartment for corrosion and maybe try a known good battery, failing that I would suspect a wiring issue, often corrosion from a leaking battery finds itself "climbing" up the wire and rotting it out, these issues can be a pain to fix, please come back if still stuck....

    Hello, I just bought this one. When I used it for about 20 shots I think, the advance lever got stuck. I couldn't move it. How can I fix this?

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, does the camera have a film in it, if it does then I suspect you have reached the end of it, rewind and remove, then the film advance should work....

    does change in GNm settings or ASA settings does change in how camera work?

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, guide numbers are used to calculate flash exposures, with leaf shutters the selected speed does not matter as the flash fire duration is so short, the ASA setting is for non flash situations and affects the shutter speed/aperture combination to give correct exposure depending on available light and film sensitivity.....

    does the battery is needed for it to work?

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, yes it does require a battery, however the original px675 mercury ones are now banned and no longer available, I use Wien cells designed for hearing aids, as they are the correct 1.35 volts, modern equivalents are available, but they are 1.5 volts, not a major problem when using negative film
