Recently did a level through with all the Vault Hunters lately and I have to say that Axton is easily my favourite. He can use pretty much anything, his kill skills are some of the best in the game, his survival is top notch, and his swap speed has spoiled me when it comes to other characters. Figured I through my own thoughts into the comments: - Turret is the best skill in the entire game. Hands down. You can use it to slag mobs. You can use it to turn off their AI. It lasts for a long time. Reads you bedtime stories. - Ready being a Tier 1 that gives you 40% always on reload is insane to me. You boost that up with his Soldier COM, you've nearly cut your reload in half. - Laser Sight adding a beam is nice once you have Double Up so you know what enemy is going to be slagged. - Even with a Rough Rider, Crisis Management is a pretty poor skill. Not only does he have shield skills, he also has enough damage boosts that he doesn't need it. - For Double Up, it's worth pointing out that Slag-on-Slag gets a 1.5x damage boost. - Impact is okay when boosted for +40% always-on gun damage... but Expertise has spoiled me. - While Krieg can get higher swap speed, Axton's is always active and the way many skills in this game works means the bonuses start to plateau. - Overload is okay, but having it be 50% for just assault rifles feels kind of low. - Metal Storm (and Steady) giving recoil reduction is huge. If you don't notice it, that's because it's doing its job. Less recoil also means easier critical hits. - People who think Longbow Turret is bad are the same group of people who buy diet pills. - Do or Die might as well be his capstone instead of Nuke in Gunpowder. I'm glad it's not, but it could have been. - Ranger is such a newbie trap and I've had to tell multiple people not to use it. What's funny, though, is that it doesn't have melee damage boost. The one skills without it. - Nuke's biggest issue, in my opinion, is that that turret's cooldown is far too long to really make use out of it. That, and wanting to have it on walls, makes it a hard sell. - The only issue with taking Healthy is that Survival has so many good skills. That said, if you're doing chucking against raid bosses, you take it over Preperation. - Last Ditch Effort is okay, but Axton has enough, better skills for helping him get out of FFTY. - Pressure's reload capping out when it FFYL has saved me so many times. - Quick Charge constantly regenning your shield is big if you get a DoT on you. Corrosive and Fire DoTs do 40% to shields and letting those constantly tick your shields is huge. - Forbearance is good. Combined with Quick Charge, it's great. It, with QC, means that Corrosive and Fire DoTs wear off before Quick Charge which see previous. - Pretty much the only reason to max out Resourceful is if you're doing the Nuke Spam build. - Grit with Able means you can easily get above health gate. - In terms of a full build, I don't bother with "value points" for COMs. The only 1 pointer I take is Quick Charge (with 3/5 Forbearance). I'd rather "waste" boosts than points. - If anyone wants to see my general build (lootlemon: axton#_5505505001_05055150100_55053110151) or (bl2skills: commando.html#55055050010505515010055053110151) - 30:12 for breakdancing turret. - Also, keep in mind that added Sentry duration is increased cooldown when you recall. - Legendary Soldier it really helped by the fact that Axton has some of the best Tier 1 skills all-round. - BL2Fix thankfully fixes the issues with Legendary Ranger. That said, the Shield Delay can mess with melee Zero. - Legendary Engineer might not be the best stated, it's well thought out as "COM for the turret man". - Read-only Farm the Grendal mission in Oasis for Blue COMs. - Tactician, I go Blue with 6 in Battlefront. Grenadier, Blue with 6 in Steady. Ranger, Blue with 6 in Grit. For Veteran, you really want Steady and Pressure. - Honestly, the only reason to go with Shock Trooper is because you're not playing on PC with the BL2Fix. That's pretty much all I have to say. Not much to say about the rest of the gear since Axton is so versatile that he can make just about anything work. Only thing I wish this video had was a section on raid boss chucking.
So i'm not gonna respond to the whole comment but I agree with all the stuff you said, I never realized that ranger of all skills doesn't give melee damage though 💀 also I actually had a +6 Steady +5 Pressure COM in my inventory so I have no idea why I showed of the Last Ditch Effort one
Just got the Pandora collection on steam cause a friend wants to play through them finally and went glancing around for a guide to use as a refresher for my personal BL2 main and find a nice shiny new guide only 3 months old? It really is Christmas.
One really cool thing about Gemini is that you can throw infinite turrets (technically). If you through your first turret somewhere the enemies can’t destroy it, you then throw your second turret and the enemies destroy that one you can actually throw another turret. You can repeat this like 2-3 times depending on how fast your turret dies. Other then that good video 👍
I knew I was forgetting SOMETHING about his turrets! I believe people often use this method on hyperius to keep battlefront up for as long as possible and throw the other for slagging
Enjoy your playthrough! I find that Axton actually has a pretty easy time through the peak so long as you play smart, especially since he can use a corrosive Fastball and make the Hornet super powerful

My big brother always played Axton when I was partial towards Krieg and I never understood his love for the character, but considering how many fire rate bonuses you can get with Axton and the fact that Hellborn “hyperspeed” Hellfire builds are one of my favorite things ever, I figure I’ll give him a shot
It's not just the fire rate bonuses he gets. It's that he can back up that added fire rate with increased damage and reduced recoil that allows him to make use of that firerate.
I personally enjoy him BECAUSE he’s similar to Krieg. Axton is more powerful than Krieg by default but Krieg has the ability to become even more powerful as you build momentum (through bloodlust stacks, BB, elemental elation, etc). Axton is essentially the more consistent yet still fun version of
I got back into gaming this year after many years off and tried Bl2 (recommended by old clan mates). I tried Axton randomly, I knew nothing about the game. What an amazing character. So versatile. Great with strategy. not overpowered. I still haven't tried any of the other characters yet, just made lvl 80. and finished most dlc, including fight for sanctuary. Again, Axton is so much fun
Yeah he's definitely one of my favorites for all the reasons you listed! The only character I enjoy more is Krieg but the others all have problems for me. Gaige is just boring, Sal is too overpowered so I don't find him fun, Zer0 makes you have to play well or die, and Maya is just middle of the road
I think the most important when leveling imo, is to make sure you have Double Up by the time you're level 50, it really helps for UVHM. You could also farm a Slagga/ Rubi but having a free slagging source is very beneficial. The next important thing imo is focusing on survival skills, because sometimes early game can even be more rough than late game (especially when I start a new Zero). Finally I also try to prioritize getting sentry skills because they have good synergy for damage /survival, I tend to go for Sentry, Phalanx Shield, Resourceful, Scorched Earth and Double Up first. This is why I personally always spec into the Guerilla and Survival skill trees before Gunpowder. Edit: For newcomers, a low level Slagga and Slag Rubi will work fine throughout the game, they do not need to be at your level to do their job (You can farm for higher levels if you choose). The Grog Nozzle is also a great option but that is a quest weapon. There are also skill tree calculators, so you can plan how you will invest your points, again, investing in Double Up will help transitioning into UVHM, because enemies are stronger but also slag effects.
2:12 spaghetti code like this is what keeps me loving this game as the modern games suffer from increasingly severe brainrot lol. I think Axton would be my 2nd favorite right behind Krieg as both of them feels pretty frantic whe their buffs are popping off

Glad you enjoyed this! I plan on doing at least zer0, I'm much less experienced with Gaige and Sal so that's why I'm hesitant with them. Salvador just has so many weird interactions and glitches that I would want to make sure I was thorough about and Gaige mains tend to be feral beasts that will be very upset if I get anything wrong about her
I know a lot of people think he's weak because he doesn't have an "overpowered" skill like b0re or moneyshot, however he doesn't need it at all. It's very sad that OP10 broke hyperius and vora though because he used to be able to kill both of them in just a few seconds and we were able to prove all the Axton haters wrong
impact is actually a pretty decent skill it's a great additive damage boost if you don't like kill skill builds. (additive damage boosts are goated they aren't bad)
I know it’s such a shame, but it’s still actually a pretty good COM regardless! Demonite used it for years before learning it was bugged and he made it look like Axtons best classmod
Late to this vid, but I can confirm a non-elemental Omen is amazing on Axton. Boosted by both Duty Calls and Steady, plus its a ranged shotgun with a Tediore reload.
The best axton setup for mobbing even up to non raid bosses (and some raid bosses but will take longer than other methods) is using the heavy gunner com, bee shield, sheriff badge and funnily enough - the infinity pistol in all elements. Getting a kill turns those into handheld gatling guns and the dps goes through the roof. This is where not consuming any ammo makes all the difference and the recoil is almost non existant thanks to all the recoil reduction from skills. Btw Axton vs op10 voracidous is tedious (no pun intended). I just did him on lvl80 op0 with axton but then again i can't be bothered getting op9 and 10 because the game just gets more unbalanced than it already is. Chaotic evil ranger com is fun as well, but here i notice it's lacking recoil reduction and axton is going for crits less than other vault hunters do.
I LOVE the end game but I can see why people wouldn’t like it. Tbh Axton is a great character for trying out end game more since his turrets can take care of slagging and he’s able to use most all weapons and shields
@@mrtx01 this definitely looks a lot less hectic than anyone besides like Sal, but BL3 end game definitely suits me more. It's more casual or whatever people say but imo it's significantly better balanced.
I will probably at least do Zer0 (there’s already 3 krieg vids on my channel) but honestly I’m not knowledgeable enough in Sal or Gaige to do a video like this. You need an entire degree to understand what does and doesn’t work on sal and how skills interact with his offhand and stuff
Axton is probably my favorite to play in BL2, especially for UVHM. For a casual normal run I'm a huge zero player, but I have a lot less fun in UVHM with them (as well as gaige) meanwhile, axton just feels like he snowballs from 50-80 nonstop. Running super fast with kill skills and just fastballing/ravager to the face enemies is so fun - probably my favorite mobbing experience in any game
@@mrtx01 I haven't done much krieg in UVHM, but Axton is my most played for sure. Running around fastballing to the face with a slagga is too fun. Maya and Salvador are so easy in UVHM so it's relaxing, but not engaging enough to be as fun I think. I'm probably gonna work towards krieg at your recommendation.
Talking about the Roughrider Shield just reminded me of an extremely fun glitch that used to exist you could equip the Rough Rider and then I believe it was a Banshee class mod and you just turn you into Sonic you can pretty much be all the way across the map before anybody else even had a chance to spawn a car it was fun
Axton is my favorite character he's the only one I play and everything on the guide looked awesome except for your terramorphous there is a spot where you can stand for almost any character can't even be hit so you don't have to run around you don't have to do almost any of what you were showing you just have to stay in one spot and shoot him I'll leave it up to you to find it out but it's literally right where the gate is where you leave that area in that area . Yeah the terra rock is pretty good but I just don't really have much fun using it. I've been thinking about doing some raid guides so I'll be sure to show that off if I do!
@@mrtx01 one thing I have noticed is not a lot of people do talk about using Axton to raid with and I do most of my stuff solo and I find it extremely fun it is a bit frustrating though but still very fun . And by the way do you know that you're the only person I've ever seen a video on that actually talks about using Axton and everybody else is still under the stigma that the characters sucks and that's just not true !!!!! So thank you for shedding some light and maybe some people will stop acting this way and actually try the character he is a lot of fun .
Ive played this game for a long time and I always liked axton. I think the reason most people dont like him is cuz a lot of his skills make the game more fun rather than changing gameplay significantly. Kriegs skill changes the gameplay a lot, Gaige has anarchy (and not much else tbh) etc. but axton has onslaught. And steady. And metal storm. And the turret that can slag enemies for you. All these things make running around shooting things more fun, but dont significantly change the gameplay. So i feel like people lose interest late game.
P.S. I was in the middle of farming tubbies for a legendary ranger class mod before i started watching this. Now i know better, didnt realise it was glitched. Thanks for saving me all that time
Yeah most of his skills just give a lot of utility, damage, and quality of life as opposed to the others where the whole playstyle changes. But that's why I love him
@@mrtx01 another lil P.S here, I think the reason the kerblaster is underrated is cuz a) not as many people play axton, and b) it just took me a little under 2 hours to farm one from midgemong. And the other sources for it do have much better options. I agree that it's underrated tho
I agree, HOWEVER torgue vendors do exsist so if you have a way to farm those without using your torgue tokens (either read only farming or coop abusing) it's actually very easy to get
Weird coincidence: so far, these guides have came out in the same order as my UVHM playthroughs lol. Started with Krieg, then got Maya through, and now I'm in progress with Axton. Goofy. I dont know if that's going to continue, 'cause next seems like the next guide will be Zero and I'm thinking I'll do Gaige or Sal next, but still nifty.
I want max cooldown, because turrets so useful, a great dps boost and distraction. I always take resourceful and legendary soldier, I think the cooldown speed stacks.

Thanks! Yeah it probably is just inexperience, eventually you can get to the point on Axton where you breeze through the game without any moxxi gear or anything. I’d say just focus on keeping your turrets in spots where they’ll distract the enemies enough to allow you to kill everything without them fighting back

Dude great video. Axton is my 3rd favourite VH. Maya just beating him in my personal ranking. The thing is with axton I talk more about axton then any other VH. Zero is my favourite but I talk a lot more online or in RL about axton. Mainly because still to this day I get people thinking Axton is the worst class and honestly it shocks me so much 😂. Axton actually as very solid skill tree’s. Personally what is a shame about axton is that I wish duty Calls was just an assault rifle damage or boost skill and that his assault rifle class mod had a legendary class mod. Still do love the class mod as it is. I feel like with the laser skill it’s one of those skills on paper it makes sense but in practice it just doesn’t work. The turret accuracy is pretty good anyway that it having more Accuracy is just wasting points. Would of been cool if they designed it as what ever the turret laser is targeting axton gets increase gun damage and critical bit damage. That way keep up with the paste of combat gives you a reward (if that makes sense.) have no idea why gearbox never boosted ranger to this date. It’s a simple skill to fix, boost those stats. Overall great video and display why axton is such a great class. Not my number 1 but will always defend him. Also can’t believe I had Derchlands replay to my comment on your Maya guide video( fanboy Moment)
I think in a perfect world Duty Calls is an AR skill for damage and fire rate and Overload gives a 25% mag size bonus to all weapons and have it be doubled for AR's (so pretty much just make it so other guns get mag size too). I would love it if Laser Sight gave literally anything else ontop of it. Bonus damage to the enemy it's targeting, bonus firerate on the turret, or even just flat damage on the turret would be so nice

I remember seeing your vids in recommended and wondering if you'd ever come around to covering my boy Axton. Guess this video appearing answers that. While not outright busted like Zer0 or Salvador, the fact that he has so much survivability (with a skill that literally is "clench your fucking teeth and endure the pain" in Grit) and the turret(s) distracting the NPCs while slagging have always been the reason I stuck with him ever since I bought BL2 like a couple months later after release for the PS3 (and half off at that! Main reason I even got it because I was a brokie high schooler back then). His turret came so many times in clutch during FFYL that I became a loyal Axton fan since and to this day, only lamenting how the game balance spiraled out of control with the OP levels and stuff. Not long ago I had a heated argument with a friens who called Axton boring because "all he does is deploy a turret", while I argued that the turret gave both support and a bit more tactic approach to the game. We did not come to an understanding anyway 😂😂😂
@@dhuntermg for some reason a lot of people view Axton as ONLY his turret and nothing else. Imagine thinking of Krieg as only buzz axe rampage, he doesn’t even use it in half his builds! I think most anyone who finds Axton boring either heard he was boring online or just haven’t done more than NVHM with him or else they’d know
@@mrtx01 Ironically, said friend enjoyed Krieg and Salvador with the "I like to be in someone's face smashing it out" kind of argument, and he played the story like 3 times total iirc. Nevertheless, I guess the biggest gripe I have is the turret not having the best scaling in OP levels akin to someone like Moze has in BL3, but this video showed me how far you can go with Axton despite the community stigma that he is "bad" or "worse than the other BL2 VHs". Thanks for making this video, truly.
Nice shoutout to Demonite in the description. He really is one of the OGs, held raid boss speed records with Axton and all that. The only thing I thing you maybe should have mentioned as well is that Resourceful isn't really taken just for the cooldown itself, but also for the synergy it has with Battlefront. In general, both Sentry and Resourceful's main use is maximizing the uptime of Battlefront. Otherwise, you have my like and my subscribe. Keep up the good work and stop apologizing for the video's length - a guide is supposed to be detailed/comprehensive and besides, you have timestamps and we can skip, ff, pause etc so no worries there!

@@mrtx01 Don't worry about it, man! People are always going to complain about something, you can't please everyone. So just do your best judgement on these. Make them so that you would find them enjoying and informative. Also, imo as long as you put timestamps, there should be no reason to complain about the length, they can just skip to wherever they want with a simple click. I think it's better to include as much stuff as possible rather than have an incomplete guide. After all, the title of the video says "in-depth guide", so it's on them for expecting a quick and concise one.
I been using ogre rifle due to Soldier troops loaders surveyors well certainly kept that turrets shields for bit longer after chugging grenades 🛡🔰conference call corrosive and hive launcher big boomer fire 🔥 😳 resistance due constructor laser beam and bad ass loader scorch pod rocket 🚀 launcher, I also used jacob moxxi pistol getting drunken effects on ogre and hive launcher too 😳 😀 😉
@@degeneracy0160 I’m probably the #1 Rough Rider fan so I’m not opposed to it. The Pointman definitely makes sense and might actually make up for not using any of the shield skills
An idea for testing what weapons do grenade splash could be to check if it activates blood bath. I'm not sure how accurate that would be, but cross referencing could come in handy.
For the most part that is actually accurate, however some weapons like the Carnage and Wanderlust both proc BB 100% of the time regardless of neither of them doing any grenade damage
@@mrtx01 Yeah I was aware it wouldn't be fool proof, just thought I'd pitch in and bring it up anyways. (I knew about Peak Opener/Ker Blaster activating blood bath even on the primary projectile, and as you brought up in the video, said projectile doesn't benefit from grenade splash) On a different note, I really enjoy your style of content, and it fills a spot that has been vacant for many years. Hope you keep it up!

I think the problem with axton is for newer players he isn't the weakest but his ability on the surface isn't that flashy to grab people's attention. Why be the average soldier type with his power to deploy a turrent when you can be the a badass women with actual powers, the bad ass ninja, a girl with the cool big mech( i know its shit but newer players won't), some guy that goes nuts and can cut people up with a chain saw, a guy with the legit ability to duel wield woth any weapon. Then you got axton who just summons a turrent. I know there is way more to him then that and he is actually strong and fun but he just doesn't have a good first impression to the casual fan.
I definitely agree, thats a big part of why I didn’t play him for years after the game came out. He just didn’t seem that cool, and yet somehow he’s one of the most fun characters imo

I found a glitch with tediore rocket launchers. if you reload and then melee the second the rocket comes out you dont refill ammo meaning you can throw infinitely

- Forbearance is good. Combined with Quick Charge, it's great. It, with QC, means that Corrosive and Fire DoTs wear off before Quick Charge which see previous.
- Pretty much the only reason to max out Resourceful is if you're doing the Nuke Spam build.
- Grit with Able means you can easily get above health gate.
- In terms of a full build, I don't bother with "value points" for COMs. The only 1 pointer I take is Quick Charge (with 3/5 Forbearance). I'd rather "waste" boosts than points.

- 30:12 for breakdancing turret.
- Also, keep in mind that added Sentry duration is increased cooldown when you recall.
- Legendary Soldier it really helped by the fact that Axton has some of the best Tier 1 skills all-round.
- BL2Fix thankfully fixes the issues with Legendary Ranger. That said, the Shield Delay can mess with melee Zero.
- Legendary Engineer might not be the best stated, it's well thought out as "COM for the turret man".
- Read-only Farm the Grendal mission in Oasis for Blue COMs.
- Tactician, I go Blue with 6 in Battlefront. Grenadier, Blue with 6 in Steady. Ranger, Blue with 6 in Grit. For Veteran, you really want Steady and Pressure.
- Honestly, the only reason to go with Shock Trooper is because you're not playing on PC with the BL2Fix.
That's pretty much all I have to say. Not much to say about the rest of the gear since Axton is so versatile that he can make just about anything work. Only thing I wish this video had was a section on raid boss chucking.
So i'm not gonna respond to the whole comment but I agree with all the stuff you said, I never realized that ranger of all skills doesn't give melee damage though 💀 also I actually had a +6 Steady +5 Pressure COM in my inventory so I have no idea why I showed of the Last Ditch Effort one

Just got the Pandora collection on steam cause a friend wants to play through them finally and went glancing around for a guide to use as a refresher for my personal BL2 main and find a nice shiny new guide only 3 months old? It really is Christmas.
One really cool thing about Gemini is that you can throw infinite turrets (technically). If you through your first turret somewhere the enemies can’t destroy it, you then throw your second turret and the enemies destroy that one you can actually throw another turret. You can repeat this like 2-3 times depending on how fast your turret dies. Other then that good video 👍
I knew I was forgetting SOMETHING about his turrets! I believe people often use this method on hyperius to keep battlefront up for as long as possible and throw the other for slagging

My big brother always played Axton when I was partial towards Krieg and I never understood his love for the character, but considering how many fire rate bonuses you can get with Axton and the fact that Hellborn “hyperspeed” Hellfire builds are one of my favorite things ever, I figure I’ll give him a shot
It's not just the fire rate bonuses he gets. It's that he can back up that added fire rate with increased damage and reduced recoil that allows him to make use of that firerate.

I got back into gaming this year after many years off and tried Bl2 (recommended by old clan mates). I tried Axton randomly, I knew nothing about the game. What an amazing character. So versatile. Great with strategy. not overpowered. I still haven't tried any of the other characters yet, just made lvl 80. and finished most dlc, including fight for sanctuary.

Yeah he's definitely one of my favorites for all the reasons you listed! The only character I enjoy more is Krieg but the others all have problems for me. Gaige is just boring, Sal is too overpowered so I don't find him fun, Zer0 makes you have to play well or die, and Maya is just middle of the road

I think the most important when leveling imo, is to make sure you have Double Up by the time you're level 50, it really helps for UVHM. You could also farm a Slagga/ Rubi but having a free slagging source is very beneficial. The next important thing imo is focusing on survival skills, because sometimes early game can even be more rough than late game (especially when I start a new Zero). Finally I also try to prioritize getting sentry skills because they have good synergy for damage /survival, I tend to go for Sentry, Phalanx Shield, Resourceful, Scorched Earth and Double Up first. This is why I personally always spec into the Guerilla and Survival skill trees before Gunpowder.
Edit: For newcomers, a low level Slagga and Slag Rubi will work fine throughout the game, they do not need to be at your level to do their job (You can farm for higher levels if you choose). The Grog Nozzle is also a great option but that is a quest weapon. There are also skill tree calculators, so you can plan how you will invest your points, again, investing in Double Up will help transitioning into UVHM, because enemies are stronger but also slag effects.
2:12 spaghetti code like this is what keeps me loving this game as the modern games suffer from increasingly severe brainrot lol. I think Axton would be my 2nd favorite right behind Krieg as both of them feels pretty frantic whe their buffs are popping off

Axton is probably my 2nd most played vault hunter behind Krieg. I've never understood why people think he's weak.
I know a lot of people think he's weak because he doesn't have an "overpowered" skill like b0re or moneyshot, however he doesn't need it at all. It's very sad that OP10 broke hyperius and vora though because he used to be able to kill both of them in just a few seconds and we were able to prove all the Axton haters wrong
Yeah it’s shame. Hyperius has my favorite mechanics out of any raid boss. Now the only way to reliably kill him is reflection kills.

impact is actually a pretty decent skill it's a great additive damage boost if you don't like kill skill builds. (additive damage boosts are goated they aren't bad)

The best axton setup for mobbing even up to non raid bosses (and some raid bosses but will take longer than other methods) is using the heavy gunner com, bee shield, sheriff badge and funnily enough - the infinity pistol in all elements. Getting a kill turns those into handheld gatling guns and the dps goes through the roof. This is where not consuming any ammo makes all the difference and the recoil is almost non existant thanks to all the recoil reduction from skills.
Btw Axton vs op10 voracidous is tedious (no pun intended). I just did him on lvl80 op0 with axton but then again i can't be bothered getting op9 and 10 because the game just gets more unbalanced than it already is. Chaotic evil ranger com is fun as well, but here i notice it's lacking recoil reduction and axton is going for crits less than other vault hunters do.

I LOVE the end game but I can see why people wouldn’t like it. Tbh Axton is a great character for trying out end game more since his turrets can take care of slagging and he’s able to use most all weapons and shields

Great vid axton was my first character I gotta rebuild an op 10 version
Axton is probably my favorite to play in BL2, especially for UVHM. For a casual normal run I'm a huge zero player, but I have a lot less fun in UVHM with them (as well as gaige) meanwhile, axton just feels like he snowballs from 50-80 nonstop. Running super fast with kill skills and just fastballing/ravager to the face enemies is so fun - probably my favorite mobbing experience in any game
For me it's him and Krieg at the very top, then everyone else many steps down. Their mobbing is great and they manage through UVHM pretty darn well
@@mrtx01 I haven't done much krieg in UVHM, but Axton is my most played for sure. Running around fastballing to the face with a slagga is too fun.
Maya and Salvador are so easy in UVHM so it's relaxing, but not engaging enough to be as fun I think. I'm probably gonna work towards krieg at your recommendation.

Talking about the Roughrider Shield just reminded me of an extremely fun glitch that used to exist you could equip the Rough Rider and then I believe it was a Banshee class mod and you just turn you into Sonic you can pretty much be all the way across the map before anybody else even had a chance to spawn a car it was fun

Axton is my favorite character he's the only one I play and everything on the guide looked awesome except for your terramorphous there is a spot where you can stand for almost any character can't even be hit so you don't have to run around you don't have to do almost any of what you were showing you just have to stay in one spot and shoot him I'll leave it up to you to find it out but it's literally right where the gate is where you leave that area in that area . Ive played this game for a long time and I always liked axton. I think the reason most people dont like him is cuz a lot of his skills make the game more fun rather than changing gameplay significantly. Kriegs skill changes the gameplay a lot, Gaige has anarchy (and not much else tbh) etc. but axton has onslaught. And steady. And metal storm. And the turret that can slag enemies for you. All these things make running around shooting things more fun, but dont significantly change the gameplay. So i feel like people lose interest late game.

I was in the middle of farming tubbies for a legendary ranger class mod before i started watching this. Now i know better, didnt realise it was glitched. Thanks for saving me all that time

@@mrtx01 another lil P.S here, I think the reason the kerblaster is underrated is cuz a) not as many people play axton, and b) it just took me a little under 2 hours to farm one from midgemong. And the other sources for it do have much better options. I agree that it's underrated tho
I agree, HOWEVER torgue vendors do exsist so if you have a way to farm those without using your torgue tokens (either read only farming or coop abusing) it's actually very easy to get

Thanks! Yeah it probably is just inexperience, eventually you can get to the point on Axton where you breeze through the game without any moxxi gear or anything. I’d say just focus on keeping your turrets in spots where they’ll distract the enemies enough to allow you to kill everything without them fighting back
while axton could turn out like maya spammable cooldown for the whole team during axton infinite turrets compare to Salvador gunzererking again

Dude great video. Axton is my 3rd favourite VH. Maya just beating him in my personal ranking. The thing is with axton I talk more about axton then any other VH. Zero is my favourite but I talk a lot more online or in RL about axton. Mainly because still to this day I get people thinking Axton is the worst class and honestly it shocks me so much 😂. Axton actually as very solid skill tree’s. Personally what is a shame about axton is that I wish duty
Calls was just an assault rifle damage or boost skill and that his assault rifle class mod had a legendary class mod. Still do love the class mod as it is. I feel like with the laser skill it’s one of those skills on paper it makes sense but in practice it just doesn’t work. The turret accuracy is pretty good anyway that it having more
Accuracy is just wasting points. Would of been cool if they designed it as what ever the turret laser is targeting axton gets increase gun damage and critical bit damage. That way keep up with the paste of combat gives you a reward (if that makes sense.) have no idea why gearbox never boosted ranger to this date. It’s a simple skill to fix, boost those stats. Overall great video and display why axton is such a great class. Not my number 1 but will always defend him. Also can’t believe I had Derchlands replay to my comment on your Maya guide video( fanboy

I think in a perfect world Duty Calls is an AR skill for damage and fire rate and Overload gives a 25% mag size bonus to all weapons and have it be doubled for AR's (so pretty much just make it so other guns get mag size too). I would love it if Laser Sight gave literally anything else ontop of it. Bonus damage to the enemy it's targeting, bonus firerate on the turret, or even just flat damage on the turret would be so nice

I remember seeing your vids in recommended and wondering if you'd ever come around to covering my boy Axton. Guess this video appearing answers that.
While not outright busted like Zer0 or Salvador, the fact that he has so much survivability (with a skill that literally is "clench your fucking teeth and endure the pain" in Grit) and the turret(s) distracting the NPCs while slagging have always been the reason I stuck with him ever since I bought BL2 like a couple months later after release for the PS3 (and half off at that! Main reason I even got it because I was a brokie high schooler back then). His turret came so many times in clutch during FFYL that I became a loyal Axton fan since and to this day, only lamenting how the game balance spiraled out of control with the OP levels and stuff.
Not long ago I had a heated argument with a friens who called Axton boring because "all he does is deploy a turret", while I argued that the turret gave both support and a bit more tactic approach to the game. We did not come to an understanding anyway 😂😂😂
@@dhuntermg for some reason a lot of people view Axton as ONLY his turret and nothing else. Imagine thinking of Krieg as only buzz axe rampage, he doesn’t even use it in half his builds! I think most anyone who finds Axton boring either heard he was boring online or just haven’t done more than NVHM with him or else they’d know

Nevertheless, I guess the biggest gripe I have is the turret not having the best scaling in OP levels akin to someone like Moze has in BL3, but this video showed me how far you can go with Axton despite the community stigma that he is "bad" or "worse than the other BL2 VHs". The only thing I thing you maybe should have mentioned as well is that Resourceful isn't really taken just for the cooldown itself, but also for the synergy it has with Battlefront. In general, both Sentry and Resourceful's main use is maximizing the uptime of Battlefront.
Otherwise, you have my like and my subscribe. Keep up the good work and stop apologizing for the video's length - a guide is supposed to be detailed/comprehensive and besides, you have timestamps and we can skip, ff, pause etc so no worries there!

I been using ogre rifle due to Soldier troops loaders surveyors well certainly kept that turrets shields for bit longer after chugging grenades 🛡🔰conference call corrosive and hive launcher big boomer fire 🔥 😳 resistance due constructor laser beam and bad ass loader scorch pod rocket 🚀 launcher, I also used jacob moxxi pistol getting drunken effects on ogre and hive launcher too 😳 😀 😉

An idea for testing what weapons do grenade splash could be to check if it activates blood bath. I'm not sure how accurate that would be, but cross referencing could come in handy.
For the most part that is actually accurate, however some weapons like the Carnage and Wanderlust both proc BB 100% of the time regardless of neither of them doing any grenade damage
@@mrtx01 Yeah I was aware it wouldn't be fool proof, just thought I'd pitch in and bring it up anyways. (I knew about Peak Opener/Ker Blaster activating blood bath even on the primary projectile, and as you brought up in the video, said projectile doesn't benefit from grenade splash)

@@ramosjr154 I’ve got a mod that shows the parts on my gear. That’s essentially just how the game names parts on a classmod. Think of it like a weapons grip, stock, and barrel

I think the problem with axton is for newer players he isn't the weakest but his ability on the surface isn't that flashy to grab people's attention. Why be the average soldier type with his power to deploy a turrent when you can be the a badass women with actual powers, the bad ass ninja, a girl with the cool big mech( i know its shit but newer players won't), some guy that goes nuts and can cut people up with a chain saw, a guy with the legit ability to duel wield woth any weapon. Then you got axton who just summons a turrent. I know there is way more to him then that and he is actually strong and fun but he just doesn't have a good first impression to the casual fan.
I definitely agree, thats a big part of why I didn’t play him for years after the game came out. He just didn’t seem that cool, and yet somehow he’s one of the most fun characters imo
You can't drop/swap guns for the speed glitch any more. You have to use a car.

I found a glitch with tediore rocket launchers. if you reload and then melee the second the rocket comes out you dont refill ammo meaning you can throw infinitely
Wow I went to test that and to my surprise it was actually true! Sort of a niche glitch but great for when using them

i think about how underwhelming Roland seemed to be in the first game. and then i remember that gearbox didn't actually repeat that with axton
Axton looks really enjoyable to play but I just can’t get myself to pick him up idk why maybe this will change my mind
