      So I climb srt on the zig zag. I work in Florida and mainly in grand oaks where I can only tie in about 40 ft high but I have to limb walk on a branch that's like 60 ft long. So at that point work positioning is out the window and I run into the issue of I have to have my lanyard far out infront of me which is also where I need to cut and I can't brace my feet to the tree without spikes if I have my lanyard too close. Do you know of any thing that could help with maintaining proper work positioning when in situations as such.

    WTG - a year later and with 19.1K Subs it would be great to see you do an "Anniversary Zipline Special." And while I can see it was a huge effort, now that you know the proverbial "ropes" it would be great if this time you had more "director's commentary" with a bit more on the behind the scene narrative with some tight detail shots on the rig, team dialog, methods and procedures (ascend/descend technique, etc). I've watched a handful of your excellent tree climbing videos but this was the one where I KNEW it was time to Subscribe! Also great review on your Makita and my XCU09Z is on the way, along with a Notch 21' Sentei with 15" Silky. Many thanks for your generosity and support. Michael in Petaluma

    epic bro, but if you use only one pulley, two carabiner and one rope, over, over, over and over again, in the future you need to use two pulley in two separate rope, two carabiner in each pulley then it connect to separate cowstail then connect it to harness, so, if one system is failing you still got another to protect you

    • @Stridertrees
      @Stridertrees  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aye, you missed the redundancy there! The “trolly” was in fact two separate pulleys with more that 10X the necessary strength and a redundant line hanging from them. The only real potential point of failure with any significant old was the zip-line it self and it was brand new 11k lb rigging line :) so no worries there

    Badass! Are you raising and lowering the entire zip-line with those "stopper" lines to get people up and down?

    • @Stridertrees
      @Stridertrees  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes we were raising and lowering the main line every time. It was anchored to a small skid steer.

    I made a zipline with a 200 foot Yale Blaze rope. Worked perfect.

    Great project, beautiful location and yet the background “music” is made by the clinically insane. Go for the complete aesthetic experience and you’ll have done something few can do on TH-cam.

    The guys on the ground are pulling people up the slide? Or anyone who wants to go down the slide must climb the tree?

    • @Stridertrees
      @Stridertrees  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ground crew pulls them up to the top of the tensioned line.

    Awesome fun project and video, thank you, and sorry for the complaint here: But seriously man, the background music made it hard to watch more than a few seconds, it has become the modern equivalent of elevator music, or bad on-hold music, and we just don't need it. I would much rather hear just the sounds.

    Just saying if you try this at home then you must have a big house
