I have a 2012 crew cab with thr same powertrain. Get a 1-2 corvette servo for the tranny. The best thing i did to mine so far. Completely gets rid of the sloppy first shift.

No, don't get a CAI, get a Vararam TriPower Ram Air intake. Almost the same price and capable of much more HP. Call Texas Speed and ask them what the best cam kit you can run for daily use with optimal power and driveability (don't buy a cam for sound) and make sure the cam will work well with your stock converter and a CHE rocker arm trunion upgrade kit. Have your throttle body and intake manifold ported, long tube headers and a custom tune and you will be golden. Oh yeah, do the VVT delete as well. All parts are available through Texas Speed.
Yes I got a 2013 Sierra I just got it a month ago with 36k on it for $24k than after financing about $30k. But low milage and in exquisite condition. The 4.8L is a nice motor. But mine has the HD suspension and it has the tow package on it. I have experienced no issues and I love it

4.8 is a great motor

Oh indeed it will, I got a K&N intake and a dual exhaust flowmaster cat back system on the way. Long tube headers will come later

I get 16.5 combined. Low 20s on the highway and low teens in the city.
Are them some good transmission and engine in these trucks?
Yes. The 4l60e is not a heavy duty transmission, but is fine for occasional towing.
