MGB Underside Inspection

A guide as to what to look for under your MGB when you have it in the air. An essential check that will let you plan what needs to be done to enjoy carefree motoring during the season. As this was shot with a handheld whilst moving along the car on a crawler it really is how you will see it !!

Nice review Mike! My '72 GT pretty much mirrors yours with the exception of no rear axle leaks. As you point out, some "weeps" aren't worth the effort of fixing until they become a real issue. I have a strip of vinyl flooring laid in our carpeted garage which gets a periodic wipe! The only thing I would add is that I have a slight weep where the steering column enters the rack. Largely fixed without disassembly by winding some PTFE tape round the column to act as a seal. Best wishes, Geoff in NZ.

On the rear I go on the axle, I have some dished rubber heads there. At the front a standard jack with a wooden block under the spring
